[HOW-TO][E SS/DS]*UPDATED*Workaround for problems to save APNs manually on ICS ROMs - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

As most users already know, there is a bug in the dual-SIM ICS FTF if you flash it on Xperia E, not being able to manually save APNs. Infact, not being able to create them at all.
Well, I had this and fixed this problem on xmoose's XBoosT ROM , but since its based on the stock ICS firmware, it'll work for it too.
Here's what you want to do to fix it :
METHOD 1:
Disable 'Data Transfer" : Go to Settings > (under Wireless and Networks) More.... > Mobile Networks > UNTICK 'Data Enabled'
Go Back, and turn ON Airplane Mode
Wait till its completely turned on
As soon as its turned on, turn it back OFF
Now go set up your APNs!!
Hit the THANKS !!
P.S : I believe the bug was because the ROM could not detect the MCC and MNC port numbers of your respective carrier. But this fixes it. Weird.
UPDATE: Looks like this bug exists in the Dual SIM variant too. To fix it on DS phones, follow these: OK, it seems the bug isn't device-specific. Just try either method (if Method 1 doesn't work, try Method 2)
METHOD 2:
NOTE: You'll need a working Wi-Fi network with for this!
Connect to any Wi-Fi network
Go to Settings > Dual SIM card > Untick SIM 1, and then tick it back again
Go to Settings > Xperia (TM) > Internet settings
The APNs should get downloaded and be working!
(Thanks to @TheRealSS for Method 2)

Will try this,if you are sure it works, let @UltraGamerHD note this in his Official thread under "How To"

For those with internet connection problems: put this .xml in a folder named ApnBackupRestore and install APN Backup & Restore from the market.
Start the App and press Restore, select the .xml file and you're good to go

Yes, I've done everything. I have deleted all APNs. Then I manually created the right APN, but that does not help. I think it's a driver problem.
Other users in Germany have the same problem with this rom ...
Works a treat here nice rom.
@blackpitbull
you can try this: open the dialer and dial *#*#4636#*#*
in this menu you're able to change your network type (WCDMA preferred, GSM only....). You can't damage anything playing with these settings, but you can loose your network connection completely. But reverting it back to the previous setting fixes this.
So maybe give this one a shot.
I still believe that your net problems are provider related.

[AOKP] Cellular Data Not Working

Hey there, first post and the search function wasn't working so if this problem has been posted elsewhere just let me know.
I just flashed the Sept. 28 AOKP for the A2 along with 4.3 GAPPs and everything seems to be working swimmingly...
Except the mobile data.
I've enabled and disabled data, enabled and disabled airplane mode. Reflashed the firmware and GAPPs and still the data doesn't seem to want to work. I'm getting 5 full bars and for whatever reason it just won't connect.
Anybody else had issues like this?

You have to manually put in the APN 's for the ROM
Goto system settings mobile networks Access Point Names and manually input the settings depending upon your carrier the setting will differ...
Google your carrier specific APN settings and input them it should do the trick....

G930FD - Dual SIM - VoLTE Support

Hi All,
I've seen many threads asking this question but doesn't answer it to my situation. I'm using this phone in Sri Lanka and my carrier recently launched VoLTE. I called up my carrier and got them to activate VoLTE for my SIM and so far I've not been able to make use of this.
The other threads talks about a setting either under Phone -> Settings or Settings -> Mobile Networks which is not there in my case.
Does this mean that the ROM/CSC that I have doesn't support VoLTE (I'm using the original ROM)?
Regards,
Asanka
In my S7 Dual Sim there is a Quick Toggle for VoLTE; Its there where you can turn on/off wifi, mobile data, bluetooth etc
VoLTE & VoWiFi working
Let's revive this thread.
I have a Galaxy S7 Duos (G930FD) which originally came with Kenya (AFR) firmware. After reading several threads, I replaced the firmware, using Odin, with the Indian (INS), but VoLTE still didn't show up. After verifing if the provider has enabled VoLTE on the SIM card in a Huawei P Smart an everything was functional (VoLTE and VoWiFi), making sure that the SIM card is in slot 1, I decided to re-write the Romanian open firmware (ROM).
And surprise ... Wi-Fi calling (under Connections) and 4G call (under Connections >> Mobile Networks ) are active and working.
Dear Nica,
I've been dying to get my S7 duos to work with volte and wifi calling features.
I've downloaded and installed over 20 different firmware versions and am unable to get it to work.
I can't locate Romanian firmware for 930fd model and was hoping that you can point me right direction please.
Would you please be able to help me?
Many thanks
Michal.

Michal, the G930F firmware works absolutely the same, you can flash it without reservations.
Here is the link for the latest Romanian firmware: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s7/firmware/SM-G930F/ROM/download/G930FXXS6ESI4/295333/
Working on SM-G930FD with Mint Mobile USA
Hi there,
I thought that I would share my findings. I got volte working on G930FD. The setting comes up under Connections --> Mobile Networks --> VoLTE calls. I have tested it with calls and LTE Discovery app to make sure that I am not dropping back down to 3g/H+/etc... The calls are so much better for me. I am hard of hearing, so it really helped me. I will list how I did it below.
1. Download this firmware. https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/ga...S8ETC3/327944/
2. Use Odin v3.14.4 to flash BL, AP, CP, CSC ( I used CSC not HOME CSC)
3. Boot phone and enable developer mode (not sure if necessary, but this is the way I did it)
4. Reboot to download mode and flash TWRP (uncheck auto reboot)
5. Immediately after flash, reboot to recovery (Power, Volume down, Home to reboot, then Power, Volume up, Home to enter TWRP)
6. Swipe to allow modifications
7. Wipe--> Advanced Wipe --> Select Data --> Repair or Change File System --> Change File System --> EXT2 --> go back --> and then EXT 4 --> back all the way to main screen.
8. Install --> latest version of Magisk
9. Install --> CSCSelection_V3.0.0.zip https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-...on-30-t3392957
10. Aroma --> Select XXA (Multi USA) --> Select XAA (Unbranded)
11. Reboot and wait to boot (Takes a few minutes)
12. Check in Connections --> Mobile Networks --> VoLTE Calls
That's it. Good luck!!
Oh yeah, Wifi calling is in the dialer app under settings, but I have had no luck with it, even though Mint Mobile supports it.

Emergency call only.

Hi all, I have the title problem, mi nexus 5 won't take signal with my Wind (ita) sim. I have tried two device, galaxy ace plus and galaxy S5 and they can take signal using same APN and located on the same desk in my house.
I've searched a lot on XDA and other forums to get a solution, but I can't find anything that's can help me. I can't seen it to Google because I can't find his original box and the original receipt.
My phone can take signal only using "xTraSmooth" rom, but is very old and I want to use Pure Nexus.
I've added this string to my build.prop it was posted as a potential solution:
"#settings
telephony.lteOnGsmDevice=1"
And I've changed *#*#4637#*#* option to LTE/GSM/wcdma auto (prl)
But at every reboot it set itself on LTE/GSM, with or without the build.prop string.
I know that is a common problem, but no one found a real solution.
Thanks in advance.
If everything works on a stock rom, you need to use a different custom ROM.

Today I will try to flash xtrasmooth or a stock factory image, thanks for the tip
----\\\UPDATE///----
Flashed same xtrasmooth, inserted string in build.prop and i do the trick with *#*#4636#*#* and the phone set itself to LTE/GSM auto (prl).
I wanto to use my nexus, why this phone have a lot of problems?
----\\\UPDATE 2///----
Flashed miui 8 global by Dio_S used the build.prop string and now work, i have to be lucky with a rom now? i don't like miui, and i will test other rom, i hope in a normal rom...
----\\\UPDATE 3///----
(i hope last update)
I've searched a lot to reach the best solution with this phone.
Now im using DarkRom and i've found a solution! Or something like a solution, hahaha.
I've downloaded "Nexus5 field test"
Give root permissions (magisk or super su, think doesn't matter)
Select three dot
Hit "Root Settings"
Select three dot
Hit "Settings (view)"
Hit LTE
Hit edit
Write your service code (id you dont have this code use this guide to get it using adb https://forum.xda-developers.com/go...radio-enable-lte-band-3-nexus-5-d820-t2928561 )
Use these settings:
Lte Enable/Disable (enable)
Band26 (disable)
Band41 (enable)
Band25 Proirity (1)
Band26 Proirity (1)
Band41 Proirity (0)
hit back to reboot and now should work, if not i don't know.
You have to reboot every time you select Airplane Mode and it will work!
Good Luck!
Can i up this post? If someone would to test my solution i will be very happy!
