It seems that during the last four days or so, I've had my One X lose network connectivity at random. I've tried going to airplane mode then back to regular and it doesn't seem to help. Next, I usually resort to restarting the phone and it usually fixes the connection problem. A couple times, I've had to restart the phone twice to regain connection.
Also, my locations have never been a place that does not have good signal. It seems like it's just a random drop off connection (texting and internet).
Anyone else have this problem?

Count me in. Has happened atleast 3 times in the past week. But airplane mode solved my issues
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Happened to me once. I could send and receive emails and use the web browser, but could not send or receive calls or texts. After trying to send texts and make calls for about 10 minutes, a restart resolved the problem (and revealed a few missed calls and texts).
Happened to me yesterday for the first time and again today. Airplane mode on off is working to restore it for me. It shows connection and signal but no data, texts or calls were allowed. I am in Minnesota so I am not on LTE its HSPA+ here. The areas it happened to me were in a town with a low population as well so I don't think that the AT&T towers are overloaded. I am hoping this is a software issue and not a hardware.

I have had the same problems randomly and yes the only way to get it working again is that I have to turn the phone off then on again. It is annoying me as it is happening when I play with the connectivity of the phone such as cutting off auto sync and mobile data connection.
I am having the same problem with my HTC One X. I thought it was because I am using a HSPA APN instead of LTE. In my case this happens constantly through the day. It's very annoying. I thought it could be a glitch with the stock ROM so I rooted my phone and installed a custom ROM and I still get the problem. I hope some one here comes up with a solution soon.
I was also having this issue the first week I had the phone, but I have since rooted, upgraded to 1.82, and installed CleanMOD (and ended up having to RUU a few times in that process) and haven't seen it happen again since. Not sure which of those steps fixed it, but seems like one of them did.
I'm having the same issue. I'm running CyanogenMod 10 on my HOX. For the most part no issue, but occassionally I loss signal (in good areas) but won't reconnect to mobile network, up until now I've just been rebooting, but may try to use airplane mode. Anyone come up with any solutions for this?
Try going into recovery, and wiping cache and Dalvik, then reboot. This has solved the problem for me every time I have frequent data drops. Sometimes comes back when I flash a new ROM. But then wiping cash & Dalvik again fixes it until the next ROM. Might not solve your particular case, but it certainly won't hurt anything.

Thanks, I was still having issues with a fresh install. I actually upgraded my radio this morning, thinking that might have been the culprit as I was on 1.82... flashed 2.20 do you know where I can find 2.23?

I used to have the same problem ALL of the time. Any time I went in to or out of an LTE or Wifi spot I would lose texting and data. I had called HTC about it a half dozen times. It was when I was using 1.85 though. Haven't really noticed it since using CR 4.5 and AT&T 2.20 radio.

Hey guys, I've had my HTC One S for T-Mobile and ive had it for about 1 week and it has rebooted on me twice so far. not sure why. the first time it was in my pocket and i heard the T-Mobile boot up animation sound go off in my pocket and pulled it out my phone to see it was just booting up for some reason. then today i was going to look at my friendstream widget (on my home screen) and my phone locked up for a second and then rebooted itself. i'm not happy about it since i once owned a g2x which rebooted like crazy. i'm hoping it stops randomly doing this crap but i reported it to HTC since it gave me the option once it rebooted. my HTC one s is rooted with the stock rom with bloatware removed and carry IQ removed. i just wanted to see if i'm the only one having this issue.
It happens to me too :/ sometimes i wake up in the morning and i see the HTC error message. Maybe a software issue?

I had like two reboots, but then I updated the phone and the problems disappeared. Have you updated to the latest firmware ?

i dont think there is an update for the tmobile htc one s.
Two days since I bought it and already rebooted two times when exiting the mail client while network was switching from H to 3G. I upgraded it to the latest firmware OTA just after putting the SIM card into.
My son had a problem with random reboots. After enabling Best Wifi Performance in Wifi, advanced settings, they went away. This is on a TMOUS version. Could be totally unrelated to your issue, but worth a try. I've noticed that the wifi has some weirdness to it, like hanging on to a connection long after it's out of range. I hope there is a software update soon.

yeah i guess here in the US we havent got an ota update that i know of. i kept checking for updates but it said my one s is up to date.
Another reboot this morning. This time I received a txt thru Facebook Messenger. I saw it on my desktop and ear, exactly at the same time, the HTC One S rebooting. This might be app related this time.
My One S specs:
- EU edition
- Stock ROM, 1.78 OTA
- Wifi disabled
Yes my H1S reboots about 3 times a week, or the "Loading ..." window is seens 3 or 4 times a week as well.
one more time... I'm gonna consider switching to another ROM in a very near future.
rebooting on 1.78 stock and other custom roms too
Hi guys, I had this issue with stock rom on 1.78 and previous too, so it is probably a radio issue. If I am connected to my wifi network at home, then I go out, the phone switches to hsdpa (as it should) and then I come back home, the reconnection to the wifi network causes the phone to reboot.
I had this issue on all roms I used, both stock and trickdroid 3.1 / 4.3.
My wifi direct is already disabled, my location is Italy. I have seen also that people on the US T-mobile support webpage are complaining about something very similar, wifi related.
Thanks
I'm on tmous and have had two of these reboots since I got the phone on US release day.
As others have said, mine have only happened when I'm on the very edge of my WiFi coverage. It's like the phone can't decide which network to grab on to and freaks out. I don't have the issue when it's just normally switching from WiFi to data like when I go out and then come home. It only seems to happen when I'm right on the edge of WiFi for a few minutes.
Not a huge deal, since its only happened a couple of times. If I remember when I'm off this week, i'll try to get a logcat because I should be able to reproduce it at the edge of my back yard
that would be great, as it sounds like it is the same issue. I always found tricky to save logcats due to amount of information in them and spotting the exact reason for crashing.
I was just curious if anyone, other than myself, is having mobile network issues with there one x still even on the newest radio and software?
The issue I am talking about is when you go to use your phone and you pick it up and it has no service at all with a X on the signal bars until you turn it on and off again or in some instances you have signal bars but you can't make a call, send or receive a message, or surf the web until once again you reboot the phone or swap it in and out of airplane mode.
I was just curious if anyone has a solution for this or ideas... ironically when I updated to 1.85 it was fine for an entire day then the next day I rooted and installed a different ROM and the issue came back. Could be timing or not related but I have no idea.
Thoughts?

Happens all the time on 1.73. I've held off upgrading because I've heard of people having fun (and by fun, I mean lotsaproblems) on 1.85.

Only thing thats really starting to frustrate me are all the double texts/retry sending notifications.
I have had a problem where the phone thinks it has signal, data works fine but you cannot make calls or send texts until you reboot or go into airplane mode.
This happened on 1.73, 1.82 and now 1.85

I believe mine started after I rooted as well... I wonder if the root is doing something that interferes with the radio working correctly or something along those lines.
Its the main reason I updated. Even when going from HSPA+ to LTE I would have to reboot the phone while stock. 1.82 did nothing to fix the issue but since I've been on 1.85 I've not experienced the problem. Multitasking is, imo, unchanged.
Yeah. Happens regularly when I am travelling some distance by car and occasionally in the city (maybe every two days while I remain in the city). I'm on rooted stock but it was happening even with un-rooted stock. I hope HTC fixes this soon and Rogers pushes out an OTA update as this is sh*tty. Funnily enough, going into airplane mode doesn't seem to fix the issue. Apps that access the Internet just report an error with the network connection.

Same, I haven't experienced the issue on 1.85.
I've been using my Rogers HOX ever since it came out but always had random data drops. Tried all kinds of radios (with or without RIL) and all kinds of roms and the issue is still there. Losing data is not the biggest issue but it also drops the battery real quick because it keeps trying to connect.
Anybody ever find a solution to this?
I'm using the HOX on Straight Talk and lately I have noticed that when I have WiFi on for a while, assuming it stays connected, I lose mobile data. The only thing that bring it back is toggling airplane mode or rebooting the phone.
I am on Jellybean, and I am not sure if the issue was present in the stock ROM's.
Yep still having the same problem on AT&T with every combination of Kernel/ROM/Radio you can think of. I can also say that it isn't a "rooted only" problem because a coworker is having the same issues on 100% stock software. There's always that ONE THING that keeps my phone experiences from being perfect. Grrrrrrrr........

Stock 2.20 on Straight Talk. Have to toggle Airplane occasionally. Especially in North Little Rock. ::shrugs::
OP, have you restored your stock setup to see if the issue persists? Basic question, but for the sake of a starting point.
After so long, finaly found the problem. I don't know if it'll be the same for everyone but the problem was Swiftkey keyboard. The moment I uninstalled it, the problem did not reoccur.
I have the same problem and I can assure you its not the phone, I have used many android phones, iPhones, and regular phones on rogers 3G network and they all have the data drops in general like dropping to 1 bar and no service once and while.
You might want to switch your network to wcdma/gsm instead of wcdma/gsm/LTE. If you dont have the correct APN for the rogers lte network it will keep searching for the lte nrtwork causing the data drop. As soon as I turned my lte toggle off the network stopped dropping randomly though I still get those random data drops caused by the network

We had this issue with the rezound, it actually occurred because you flashed different radios.
You had to flash a ruu or a modified one without the system image. See my SIG
So try flashing a ruu, this doesn't explain someone with a stock phone having issues but I bet that's just tower issues
I don't have any of these issues

Wow, you might be onto something here. I just installed SwiftKey last night and immediately started having issues. Data has been off-and-on with different versions of different ROMs, and never suspected that my issues may lie within an app that I was using. I was mucking about with radio ROMs and a million other settings, never realizing that SwiftKey was installed right around the time I started having issues on each ROM.
I'm going to jump back to CM10 this evening and see if this was my issue.
THANK YOU in advance! (Thanks button has been hit!) Nice work!
You gotta be sh***ing me! After all this time scouring xda and numerous other sites.starting my own tread it was SwiftKey all along? Wtf? I did a thousand different things. Nothing worked, took off Swiftkey, bam, flawless. I've got a T-mobile GS3 incase anyway was wondering, no, apparently it's not just with htc or AT&T/Rodgers. Weird though cuz my wife has a AT&T GS3 with Swiftkey and has no issues whatsoever... Did you dl your version from the playstore or from a 3rd party? Thanks a million for posting your solution. This was absolutely killing me. God do I hate this stock keyboard though...
Hi guys, I got my G920i from an ebay seller that everyone here has been talking about. The phone was in great condition and everything was fine with the phone for the first 24 hours. Ever since then , my phone has been constantly rebooting after a few hours on it's own. I have not installed any apps that I normally don't have on my other android device , the oneplus one. The G920I is not rooted or anything. The only app I can think of , that is different this time from the OPO , is the samsung push service update. I checked around and could not see anyone else who had recvd the Push service update and was facing the same issue.
Please help!
same
I have the same issue. I also bought the international version off of eBay. I didn't notice anything for about two days, but have now had the phone restart on me three times. All three times I was not actively using the phone and the screen was off.
One thing that I tried was to reinstall the Samsung push service update. That worked for 3 days as I didn't see any more reboots. And just 15 mins ago it happened again while the phone was in my pocket. Hope this gets fixed soon.
It has happened to me twice. I just disabled the auto update feature for my apps to see if that actually works. Will let you know if it worked after a couple of days.
I've had the phone since last tuesday and didnt notice any random reboots until this app updated and now i have 3-5 a day

Im only around open networks at work and it does the soft reboots around my house which is secured
My random reboots started shortly after the Samsung Push Services app was updated. I force stopped it, disabled it and uninstalled the update and I haven't had a reboot in a while.
My phone was rebooting several times every day before that.
Edit: The random reboots are back. This is very frustrating.
reflash the firmware fix the problem for me. No reboot since 24 hours. 5 to 6 reboots per day before. Hope it will continue.
I also have the same issue. It has happened 2 times for me, today and yesterday. I had the phone in my hand and suddenly I see the Samsung logo. Within 5 minutes it reboots 2-3 times. This sucks =(
I have the same problem, it only happens to me when I open Play Store or when I update something.
Edit: I have the F model.
I have had my 920i for almost a week, and I haven't had any random reboot at all. Everything works as supposed to.

I bought my 920i from Breed on Ebay. Everything has been great for the most part, but I do experience a random reboot at least once every few days. It just happened to me while sitting on my desk.
I am rooted, but I don't have any crazy customizations and I applied stock recovery after root. Only one app is frozen and it's that Samsung Security Agent process that was draining my battery. I also have it connected to a Gear S, but I'm pretty sure that's not the issue.
I wiped it twice yesterday and then set it up. It's definitely not a ROM/cache issue. I'll be interested to see if anyone figures out what this is. It could just be a bug that we'll have to deal with until the next update. Fortunately, the phone restarts super fast.
I also believe this is a software issue. I am not rooted and don't see myself doing that any time soon.
Which network are you using on your 920i? I am on AT&T network

AT&T here, also.
I'm using the G920F with an european carrier, so I think that is a global problem.
It happened to me twice today. That's a first. The only thing that's different is that I have a Gear S connected full time.
Didn't Android 5.01 cause the phone to reboot after some time due to running out of available memory?
