Database Info

3g network

Hi everybody,
I guess its kinda silly question but what the heck:
I'm using our great phone outside of the US(Israel to be specific) and just got a new sim card yesterday that suppose to support 3g networks(my old one didn't).
The question is:How could I know if I'm on 3g network or 2g network...
I don't see ant notification for that on the stautus bar and didn't find a setting to enable that(beside the wcdma which is enabled)

P.S - I forgot to mention that my provider(Orange) supports and provide 3g network

theres one there, it just RARELY shows itself. Mine has came on a few times on elevators. There was just a thread about this about a week ago. But most times unless your in a edge area it will show 4G. if you really want to know what your connected to go into settings>about phone>status, and it will tell you what your connected to

Yea, it is there, but rarely shows its face. I still haven't seen one, but have seen screen shots of it.

Yes, there is, but it also depends on your rom. Some may not have a 3g icon in it

currently I'm on trigger so I guess there isn't...
Do you know which ones does have?

Stock that I know of. Like I said, im in a good coverage area, so I've never had it show up.

I live in Wisconsin and am using Simple Mobile. I also rarely get the 3g symbol either but i have seen it on stock kb5,kc1, and kd1. I also can confirm the symbol in both the Bionix Roms.

On what ROM are you??
I'm on the Bionix Black Ice and I know I'm on a 3g network (for sure I can see it in the about phone section) but I still don't have that icon...weird...

What if motorola decides to release a Moto G White... would you guys buy it???

No. Because I highly prefer the front of a phone to be black or at least dark coloured, having all the focus on the screen.
I ordered the White and Lime Shell though.

I wouldn't but my wife would. She only wants white phones even the front bezel.

It makes the screen looks smaller

Exactly this for my reasoning as well. For myself, a white phone would be like having a white TV. Distracting from the focus.

Personally, no. It'll get dirty easily. Soon enough, your white Moto G will be yellow. My white Sixaxis is like that, even if I cleaned it regularly.

personally i wouldn't but it does look good and think it would sell.

The camera is pretty bad :/ It's also hard to hit the power button when holding it one handed.

I never got that to work, only double tapping to turn on, it must be sensitive. Also that's why I'm not a huge fan of the camera :/

I upgraded from the DNA as well,and so far I don't have any complaints. The camera isn't the best but I knew that going in.

You can improve the camera a lot by the custom settings.

^this was a bit over saturated

The cameras not really bad. It's a 4 'ultra pixel' but it's good in low light and all the effects I.E 3D makes up for the la lacking pixels. I love the phone coming from a note 3. The build quality,display,size,speakers,and speed is what I favor most.
I'm not a real fan of sense but I took care of that with nova launcher and the viper1 Rom? I recommend that Rom if you're thinking about rooting ?
HTC ONE M8?

After a little over a week of use my experiences with this phone has been nothing but positive... Of course the camera leaves a lot to be desired but other than that, smooth sailing.. After a day of use on a full charge I still have 50% + left. It almost lasted 2 days that's a lot more improvement over the droid DNA.. I haven't rooted yet, I'm actually kind of scared and hesitant to. On another note I feel like I made the right decision over and S5..

Had this problem too on stock 4.4.2 and honestly I still have it. I have camera tweaks active tho in build.prop.

I think it's because the camcorder doesn't change the exposure so dark scenes are terrible but those in the light are actually the same as the camera. Go take your phone somewhere that is pretty bright and compare, they will be the same. Then somewhere dark, the camcorder will be terrible.
It's probably not because of a custom ROM.

Does not happen to me, on Carbon 4.4.2. I flashed the 4.4.3 factory image to test it too, and it didn't happen in low light nor bright conditions.

I got the same issue but I'm on slimkat 4.2.2

Yea its only noticeable in dark environments ...
Although its much better now .. I used to have this pretty drastically on 4.4.2 .. Seems as though its OK on 4.4.3

Galaxy S6 WiFi -Data Icons

I've never been a huge fan of the Nexus 5x WiFi and Data Icons. I decided to put the icons from my Galaxy S6 on my Nexus. I thought I'd share them in case anyone else felt the same. I also put some more space between the right clock and the battery. I'm going to add some colored ones later along with matching Navigation icons. This zip automatically makes a restore zip. It is located in a folder called ozop. Flash this if you don't care for the way these look after trying them.
These were made on MMB29P but since P and Q both were just security updates, this will probably work on MMB29M and MMB29Q also.

I never had one of those. I've always been Samsung, since the Samsung Nexus of long ago. I then went to galaxy s4, s5, s6, and now I also have the Nexus 5x (haven't had an unlocked bootloader since the original Samsung Nexus).
