Hey guys I'm new to this phone from the LG Optimus G. I have a question about the Led light. I was using light flow but it couldn't successfully change the color it change the blink frequency but I tried to make the notification for hangouts blue but it was purple. Does anyone know a different app or what colors the LED supports? Thanks guys!
Hi,
I don't use Light Flow, but maybe take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2517430. You can ask in this thread, the dev of Light Flow is here.
For another apps there is Light Manager: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koo.lightmanager&hl=fr (I used it) or Led Blinker: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ledblinker&hl=fr (not tested).
Maybe others but these are the most known...
Some custom ROMs allow for the customization of LED, check there. Omni ROM is one that comes to mind.

[Q] LED Notifcation light
Hi,
When I get an SMS and my DS is on the table, I see the green LED notification light flashing for a short moment and then it turns off ? Is this normal ?
Also it appears that the Notification LED only flashes either Amber or Green. Ive not had a Desire before so im not sure if this is a hardware limitation or a software limitation. Does it not support Blue, Red etc?

All HTC smartphone blinks for only five minutes. On old model you can use Led Me Know or Missed Reminder to customize led notifications, but does not works on Gingerbread
Anyone know if the LED has any other colours than green / amber / red ?
I'm keen to know this too. . on my previous phone (HTC Desire) the LED light could do a variety of colors. green, amber, pink, blue, white, light blue. I was using GO sms to get the colours. but it seems that Desire S does not have the same LED.
As far as I know the led just supports green, amber and a kind of red. It's not a rgb led:-(
If you want the led to notify you longer than just five minutes use light flow from the market. I used it some time and it works. You can set the color an kind if notification for each event (eg sms, missed call, etc). But you need a rooted device. I got the full version and don't know if it works even with the light one. Try it and tell us;-)

CyanogenMod7 has some options to tune notification light. You can set it to keep blinking all the time, untill you will read new message or see a missed call (even while screen is on). Also you can set the color: green or amber.

I'm don't particularly care for the green LED notification for missed calls, etc. On my DesireHD I used an app LED Me Know that let me change the color or the notification LED as well as the frequency of the flash. LED Me Know won't work on a rooted Sensation, are there any other alternatives that let you change the color of the LED? Thanks

As of now, there are no other solutions for you. As a reminder all you have is Green and Amber. Rumours of red are floating, but Green and Amber are your two LED choices. You are stuck until a good mod comes around.
Gone are the days of the RGB LEDs. :-(

Well, if you flash amber and green at the same time, you get orange/yellow color. So we could say we have 3 colors
Swyped from my HTC Sensation
I would be OK with amber notifications, it shows up much better than green to me, and I would like to be able to increase the frequency of the flashes but it looks like I'll have to wait .
Is this possible using an app? Will MS allow such apps in the store? I want to get notification lights with custom colors when I have new SMS, missed calls, etc. and not just when charging.
The 8x doesn't have an RGB LED, so only the amber and green are available, and can't be changed

Meh. Thanks.
Still hoping that MS will implement this feature at some point in time. Its what I loved on my Nexus while at work where I just needed a quick glance at the led to know whats going on. Even a simple blinking green light would suffice for notifications really.
Are you sure about this? I don't think so that they're using a RED and a GREEN LED. It's easier to use an RGB LED.
I hope so, and the vibrate function isnt the best, would like for messages it had short burst vibrations. I'm just used to android since I was using it for 3 years!
Anybody else have issues getting custom LED notifications to work. I am rooted stock with exposed G3 tweakbox. I have tried to change the default colors and blink rate with Tweakbox, Xled, light flow, and light manager. Other people seem to have luck with it. I don't know if it's my settings or are other people with ATT version having issues as well
Hi, im wondering if anyone has succesfully edited files in sys/class/leds to increase the notification led brightness? I have a white d838 and the led is only half as bright as my previous white G2 D802..
Thanks in advance
Try installing LED manager apps like "Light Manager", "Light Flow". They can also set brightness for LED.
Or if these won't work, just wait a few weeks. We already have a proper recovery (CWM), not long 'til we have custom kernels. Those can also set LED brightness.
(By the way my G Pro2 is MUCH brighter than my S3 was. Let alone HTC's dumb tiny micro-led on top.)
