This is probably a commonly asked question. But I want to see ones opinions in one place.
I am very picky and the HTC ONE 802w receiving the sense 5.5 and android upgrade after the release of the HTC One MAX
I was wandering are there any roms other than:
Soul Rom (v.17)
Maximus HD (v.1.0.2)
I'm sure there are plenty more roms, some people are trying to get certain developers to develop a rom for dual variants.
It would be greatly appreciated if people could post any roms.

go to this site and read, read, read every step.

replace the rom you want with a rom of your choosing.
also, it pays to read into things before asking others. If you investigated this forum your would find a whole section dedicated to android development for the desire, and guides on how to root and flash new roms. From the sounds of it, you are not quite ready to root your desire. Read up more on the process.

You are referring to custom roms? you will find that with many of the custom roms, they are faster because they are stripped out versions...that will allow you have more options to choose from.
Faster? maybe because many of the gimmicks are gone....I am using DeFroST 5.6 on my HTC Desire at the moment...its faster than the original HTC rom because it doesnt have the HTC applications or the HTC Sense UI...give that a try...pretty happy with it!

i recommend leedroid and install it using rom manager available from the marketplace. or if you dont want htc senc the any of the cyanogenmod roms i.e opendesire

Recently I got the AT & T HTC One X+ (Evarite UL). I searched for CyanogenMod 11 for HTC One XL+. But no luck. Is there any alternate ROM for this device. which is stable and have active development assurance. Basically I wanted to install KitKat ont his device.

Firstly, you're in the wrong forum, this is the HTC One XL (Evita) forum. Secondly, you seem a bit confused as to the name of your device, there is no such thing as the One XL+, you have the One X+. Thirdly, asking which ROM is best/most stable/fastest/prettiest question isn't allowed so I can't answer that, here's why. To say one ROM is better is to infer that the others are inferior in some way. This is disrespectful to the devs who spend their spare time bringing us these awesome ROMs free of charge. Each user has different tastes anyway, the best way to see which ROM suits you is to flash a few and find out for yourself.

I am completely new to this so here it goes
I have been trying for some time now to root my HTC Desire but all the guides I find will either not work for me or have insufficient/expired links with stuff that they suggest to download and use.

At the moment my phone is running the 2.3.3 android version and I believe I have to downgrade first to the factory version in order to root the phone? Or is that not needed?
Also the reason I am trying to do this is because I am not satisfied with the RAM available on the phone and I was thinking of installing the CM10_VJ_4.1.2_V3.1_with_GApps ROM instead. Has anyone to suggest a better ROM for the phone?
I would be grateful if you could help me through this.

I don't own a Desire so can't recommend any ROMs but in general everyone has a different answer to "which is the best ROM" so if you have a look through this list (up to date as of May) then try some ROMs out which you like the look of then hopefully you'll find a keeper: HTC Desire (Bravo) Index - Everything Desire is here! There are hundreds of users who have already asked for the HTC desire 820G+ custom OS as its still on kitkat.... this phone doesn't even have a forum. No one here has uploaded the upgraded OS ROM or made a forum for this model.Guys please remember that the Desire 820 and Desire 820G+ are totaly different phones and need different ROMS and they are often misunderstood as the same model. I along with other users request someone to upload the ROM and make a forum for this.
Hope someone helps out.
