just an fyi this would be better asked in q&a section as this is a dev section. if you are rooted it will most likely not update and if it does you will lose root

Dude don't give out false info please...rooting does not, in itself, affect any otas. And its a nexus, simply reroot once the ota has installed. OP, go to the thread RootSU mentioned. Its all in there.

not false info but sorry if i did not articulate it well enough, i did not say it wont receive the ota, but meant it may not install, i have had a nexus device that was rooted with recovery NOT install the ota. anyways if you are rooted you can just wait for a stock rom to be released in the threads and flash it, our devs here are usually pretty quick at getting stock rooted ota's out.

Root is one thing. Recovery is another. Anyway all covered in sticky thread. No need to repeat

You are on an international S4 forum with roughly 0 T Mobile users that might be able to help you.
(Except me, and I don't have any idea what the answer is as I've never used an OTA update ever. Though yes, it migh tnot roll past February for OTA. You will always be able to get it on Sammobile.com)

[RUU] Signed Verizon m8 4.4.4 3.28.605.4

Random internet find, I have no validated it, and take no responsibility for it. Please do comment here if it works.
If you don't have s-off, and want s-off in the future, don't upgrade to 4.4.4 else you will have to wait. It is safe to flash this if you are already s-off.

About OTA updates now that root has been released.

Hey all,
I immediately blocked any OTA updates since I got my G4 in anticipation for root.
I have three questions
Do the AT&T OTA updates have that anti-rollback feature? I didn't see it confirmed in the thread regarding the anti-rollback but I'm not sure if the info is current.
Is the latest OTA for AT&T the 10g version? Should I enable OTA on my LG G4 now to get it prior to rooting?
Thanks.
So far as i know..no anti-rollback features..
As stated of some members here, latest ota updates doesn't affect rooting...for now

10g is the latest as of yesterday (before I rooted and blocked OTA). If you absolutely can't wait for root, then unfreeze the update apps and get the 10g OTA. If you're on 10e, there's a strong likelihood that you will softbrick your phone if you try to flash the rooted system.img (at least a couple people already did). If you can wait a couple of weeks, just hang tight and wait for codefire to release their one-click unroot since we still don't know about rolling back the bootloader or future unlockability of the 10g bootloader.
I'm on 10g and rooted. I have no intention of running a non stock rom on this device, so blocking updated with Tit back up now, removing bloat and coasting with what I've Got till we find out about a method for custom recoverys yet.
Could someone link me to the thread on how to disable the OTA function? I remember seeing it, but can't find it.

Can you or someone else please list the app(s) that need to be frozen in order to block updates? Thanks in advance.

First of all, this question should be asked in the Q&A forum.
Secondly, google on "How to sideload a zip" and that should get it done.

US T-Mobile S7edge giveaway to developer.

I am giving away a new S7edge to a developer of my choice to work on and create root/unlock for the snapdragon version.
If you feel you are competent enough to provide root for this device then send me a PM.
If you feel you know a dev that can do it if they had the device in hand then post their name here in this thread or send me a PM. In the end I choose who gets it based on their background. I will pay for shipping, etc for the developer of choice. All I ask is for you to work diligently on this device.
This device is the future of locked, unrootable devices. The sooner we get through this barrier the better for the sake of all future devices. This isn't the end, only the beginning.
There will be no developer bashing in this thread and will have this thread closed immediately if it happens.
Remarkable of you to do - thank you!
I know I can provide root via my kernel. But, with a locked bootloader you would have a hard time flashing seeing you don't have a custom recovery.

Yes. Not having recovery causes big issues unfortunately.

Loss of carrier features and other potential issues (like poor signal) in my experience of using international devices.

And don't this wouldn't really help the community. Offering to donate a device helps more people than just himself.
