This thread is for making vinyl skins for mmx a110 using photoshop
Materials Required:- Photoshop,Knowledge in Photoshop,Some cool skins,Steady Hands,3M Glossy stickers or transperent film and Patience
Coming to the procedure:-
1)Download the given basic layout in the attachment.i have made each and every measurment perfect .even tho be carefull about the measurment.
2)Open a new project of size 3 inches width and 6 ines hieght and resolution of 300 pixel/inch.now using the front layout and back layout given below edit ur desired skin. you can google it for skins but i have used http://www.vinylskins.com/ for source
3) now using photoshop edit that skin to fit layout . BE AWARE dont cover the harware keys area .
4) After completing ur skin save it as jpeg.
5) Now Print that layout on glossy paper which is easily available in local shops and digital printing shops.
TIP:- Use 3M brand stickers because it does not leave any residue on the phone while removing the skin
You better print those skins on digital printing shops because they have a good quality of prints
6) From the printout cut the holes and excess parts
7) Now Care fully set it on the phone and make sure the measurments are correct. Now remove the sticker from the printout and paste it on the phone with great CAUTION !!! :cyclops:

Sneak preview of my Mortplayer skin - Audi MMI

I love Mortplayer, but am a bit dissappointed that there are not as many skins created for the program as I like. So I decided to design my own skin based on the Audi MMI (MultiMedia Interface) in the Audi A8. I am about done with the bottom half below the horizontal metal bar. On the metal bar resides the volume bar on the left and the progress bar on the right. The top screen consists of the Effects, Power, Repeat and Shuffle buttons on the outside, and the Track Title, Track Artist, Album Cover, Album Name, Time Elapsed/Remaining, and Track # on the inside.
There are three finishes - Bird's Eye Maple, Carbon Fiber, and Walnut. The three sets of pictures consist of "No music playing", "Music playing", and "All lights on" (which shows how each button would look like when it's pressed down).
Hope you guys like it and let me know what you think so far. I'll be working on the screen and horizontal bar, then move on to the playlist screen right after.

Here's the silver carbon fiber inlay

And finally with the walnut inlay:

Niiiiice!!
I updated the top screen. Feedbacks, please =)
Thanks guys. I wish to hear from more of you.
UPDATE: I changed the text a bit in the top screen so it's more legible to read. I'm hoping to get started the playlist screen before the end of this week. Then I gotta learn how to code it. That's what I'm really afraid of, how to code it properly... Gah!

is there any download links? maybe a working image? think this thread died...

VIDEO: Form-fitting black Silicon Case for HTC Desire - $10 - Amzer

Overall this is really great. I ordered it the day after I got my Desire, but it took 2 weeks just for it to get into production, and then another week to ship. It comes in a bunch of colors; I chose black. The fit is perfect, and all the buttons and holes line up just right. My only complaint is that I wish it were just a bit more stretchy-snug -- It's snug, but I'd like for it to have been more snug
.
ALSO:
It did not come with a carry strap, nor anchor point for one, but I made one myself and now it is secure in my hands everywhere I go. Mission accomplished. I will add pictures of that later tonight.

Oh sorry, I forgot to mention that.... They have nothing to do with the silicone case... They are separate stick ons called "egrips" -- which you can apply to any device and it creates a friction that prevents stuff from sliding out of your hand.

Prior to getting the silicone case in the mail, I needed to give myself some peace of mind to not let the Desire slip out of my hand. egrips are great... They makes them as strips you can apply where you like -- and they also make they as custom fits for an entire back of a phone...
I care a lot about aestehtics -- but I do not care about the back of my phone. I rank "NOT DROPPING MY PHONE" much much higher than "neat and tidy back side".
But, for the record, the egrips work great on the Desire back surface itself... But when I then applied them to the back of the silicon case, they don't adhere.
So, what do you think of the case?
Great video, thanks for the great review!
I wish everyone would review the products they bought the same way, with clean and alot of photos, detailed ones

- You can see the streaks from the sealer
- The sides of it are starting to chip :/
I use used Red Kyrlon Spray paint which is a GREAT brand to use the color is vibrant and looks very good. The mistake I made is not using a spray on sealer, the sealer I used left streaks on the paint.
try car paint spray.. can't remember what we use to use back then with my qtek 8080(hTC),, but we are painting it from one side to the other, light spray layered then let it dry then 3x we are doing light spraying then dry..

I would have to agree. I used to work for a prototyping company and I would suggest sanding all of the red of and starting with a primer.
As others have hinted (and you pointed out yourself) the paint job is lacking but the design is cool.
May I suggest you paint the red, and then also paint the black? That way, both will be painted so the texture and gloss will match better.
I like the mod alot!
But i've got a question, could you please make a step by step guide cause i am gifted with two left hands

DIY Wallmount TF700

I am working on a wallmount for my TF700 atm, so once entering the door to my apartment i can grab and operate my house automation software with it.
Basically the 3D modell is done in Google Sketchup.

Sliced the modell into a back-, mid- and frontplate, and exported it into a dwg-file which you can find in the zip attachment.

I will use my local carpenter to provide me with the plates and work my way forward from this point. Please be advised i have not had time to cut the plates yet since i am quite busy irl atm.
Some work i still need to finish:
- thin rubberband between the tablet and wood, for easy safe sliding into the wallmount
- charging hole @ the bottom
- the mount system itself, hopefully removeable mayby integrate a kickstand so i can even place it on a table
Questions:
Is there a pin layout for the bottom charging plug, i heared it should also support audio out for external speakers there or can this only be achived by the headphone interface at the side of the tablet?
well done. looks nice
I would also recommend to cut-out a small piece in the top-middle of the back-plate. This will probably allow you to more easily grasp at the device.
Rubber does not make a good slide. I would suggest putting a layer of smooth fabric over the rubber to smoothen it.
Silk or Lycra (Lycra is cheaper) should work. Lycra has a better heat regulation than regular cotton, but normal cotton could work too if you're low on budget.
How will you be attaching it to the wall?
I like this idea!
What sort of home automation do you use? Something similar to Brighthouse Networks?
I find that a heavy duty felt works very well as a smooth barrier between two objects. Mostly, I've used it to keep my wood furniture from scratching the new floors, but the same principle applies obviously with glass & wood. It provides a good deal of padding beyond just the low friction surface, and it's also super cheap to boot.
