Without specifying how you planned on sharing...
Try TeamViewer on your tablet and a pc connected to your projection system. Connect _to_ the tablet from the pc, and every thing you do on the tablet will mirror on the pc.

Tips for a pleasant XDA:
Search before asking. Someone has likely already asked.
Spell your words completely, and use punctuation. It confuses people when you use "u" and "ur" and "dat", or when you wrongly use "there/their/they're/your/you're".
Be nice. Don't be rude, just move on to another post without leaving a comment. We are not 7 years old.
And PLEASE, do not ask for the "best" anything. We all have our preferences.
thanks but that's not what i mean...

what i want is for other people to be able to see my screen on their computer/cellphone/tablet

I don't think you can display the tablet screen on the computer, i tested the other way around and it works fine, never tried to display the tablet screen on the computer using teamviewer.

There is a tablet/phone host version to allow that scenario.

so im about to do it. been wanting a tablet for some time and as nice as the xoom looks for 1/2 the price this make sense.
can a newbie root? i dont know the first thing about programming. ive searched the forums, and i see roms, and all these things i dont even know what they are. TNT programs, which sound not so newb friendly lol....and i want to know if there is a basic root that i may be able to follow. root for dummies is what im looking for.
and also, if i screw this up can i revert back to the original way this thing was?
sorta nervous to order and not use it to the fullest potential but seems like without rooting its not worth a crap.
i know probably asked 100 times, but ive searched and just cant find basic rooting 101 concepts. read the faqs - nothing so straight forward that i found.
thanks in advance. if i find the support i need here which seems likely im going to order the viewsonic shortly
First, welcome!
And then...
Start here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245
This was the post that helped me the most. Have you rooted and installed new ROMs on Android devices before? It's not difficult, but does require that every last instruction is read. Twice. And look at posts about people "bricking" their tablets to see what they might have done wrong, or what they had to do to fix their problems. Don't worry about rooting; I've rooted a MyTouch 3g, a TMobile Vibrant and this tablet and it was the easiest by far. I'd like to say that the stock software sucks, but I can't. I purchased this tablet because I knew I would be rooting and ROMing and only had about ten minutes in the store and ten minutes at home with the original software. It wasn't horrible, but I do know that Vegan 5.1 flies and is very stable.
READ READ READ and search your face off for your problems before posting. Many people frown on oft asked questions here. I see a lot of people writing about how easy it is to search to get your answer, but I'm not a fan of the XDA search function for many reasons. So, Google is your friend. When searching Google, be sure to state your issue clearly and concisely, and in as few words as possible. Oh, but do include "XDA" in your search, or "site:forum.xda-developers.com" if you want to only search the XDA Developers forum.
Happy modding!
(1) We don't mind newbies, although it's nice if they actually respect the hard work of the people here by pressing the shift button to capitalize where appropriate. It would also be appreciated if they don't use run-on sentences.
(2) We highly recommend against modding for people like you. Just turn it on, update what viewsonic has for you, and everything will run just fine. We recommend you play with the gtab for a while before taking the plunge.
(3) You don't need to know programming to root. This thread will give you step by step instructions on how to do the essential things of modding. These instructions are so easy even a cave man could do it.
(4) That said, again, their stock rom + update should be good enough for someone like you. I have 2 gtabs. I've modded one and kept the other one as is. Trust me, it's more than sufficient for your needs.
thank u!!! im going to review that. now thats a detailed step by step which couldnt be answered easily but somehow seems doable for a newbie thanks. brings me closer to ordering.
I somehow doubt you read everything I said.

Don't be condescending. Were you born knowing how to root and mod a G Tab? Let people ask questions, and if you don't want to answer then don't.

I was referring to the part where he refuses to use the shift key. It's a pet peeve of mine. To me, it's a sign of respect to talk properly and write properly.
goodintentions - I was thanking adampdx but appreciate your input as well. I read his reply and his link provided and at first glance it seemed helpful. With that said, I also appreciate you letting me know the stock VS GT is pretty good and perhaps I will leave it as is when I get it. People make it out to be like this thing is so unsable out of the box, which apparently isnt the case. I just want to be able to get to the market and download a few apps I like using on my droid pro phone, thats all. Additionally I will use capitals and try watching the run on sentences. I was just excited to post and get involved.

I think your whole thing is condescending, including that rant you posted in the General section about the "wooters". If you wanted to be helpful you could do a write up and review about the stock ROM and make suggestions of what to do to make it better. This singling out of a group of people is rude and dangerous. You create an environment that is hostile and discourages fresh ideas. There are always kinder words to use and gentler ways to guide people.

Not to mention there be members who may not use English as a primary language and therefore may not be familiar with all of its intricacies. Respect begets respect. You get more when you offer more.
Well, here is my thought on why people are giving it such bad reviews.
(1) They compared it to the ipad right out of the box. Yes, the stock UI isn't the greatest thing, but it's usable. And after the update, it should work just fine.
(2) People were expecting an ipad when they bought this device. This is why I've been repeating over and over that this ain't no ipad.
(3) People have money coming out of their ears, so they want the bests and greatests. The slightest disadvantage and they will make it sound like the tablet exploded or something.
(4) Which brings me to my next point. People like to exaggerate.
I've always been a simple person. I like to work with what I have. I also hate Apple products with a passion. I only own one Apple product. I got my ipod (30 gig one) as a gift years ago. I've been thinking for a while to look for something that is light weight so I could drag it along for work and other activities. My laptop seems like it weighs a ton some time. That said, after I've done the appropriate moddings and installed the apps I wanted, the viewsonic gtab seems like a dream come true for me. It works incredibly fast. I didn't buy this thing to watch videos and listen to music. I have my tv and ipod for that. That said, I really think viewsonic is sitting on top of a goldmine with this device. I don't know why they haven't done more to publicize it.

Oh, please, I can tell the difference between a non-engrish speaker and someone who's just lazy. I'm a non-native english speaker. In another thread, I mentioned that I was born in a house with a dirt floor and grew up with a 4 inch black and white tv. I wasn't kidding.

Well, I apologize if what I said offended some people. But what I stated was a fact. Because of all the exaggerated reviews of how god-aweful the stock UI and screen are, average people get the wrong idea. They feel that they have to mod the device the moment they get their hands on it.
All I'm suggesting people do is give the updated stock rom a chance. Give it a few days before they decide to take the plunge. There's really no prettier way to say it.

I need to take my Woot-Off lights out soon, perhaps?

There is the "Add new comment" field, I can click in it and start typing but I CAN'T paste (or cut/copy) - no matter how long i keep my finger pressed on the screen nothing happens.
Any idea on how I could get to paste? (I don't have a dock)
Is there perhaps some softkeyboard which has a "paste" button?
A.I. type has a paste feature built in. There is a free version available in the market.

Wow, that's really a bug then.
Thanks kushXmaster I'll try it out.
Ive had a similar issue since forever, and now am wondering if im the only one. Basically sometimes when im typing a reply, on xda for example in the stock browser, it wont let me backspace and when i tap to move the cursor it kind of tries to highlight text. Also if i move the cursor with the arrows built into hackers keyboard, it just highlights text. All this makes editing text near impossible. Sometimes i can get it to go back to normal but i have no idea how. Its actualy messed up right now as im typing this. Happens usually on forums like thisor blogs like droid-life.

My comment about opera not working was because I couldn't get it to work on the twit site, just like the stock didn't work either.

First of all, we're not mind readers here. If you're going to ask for help, at least be specific. Can you imagine going to a doctor for a stomach pain but then only tell your doctor "hey doc, I'm in pain, I won't tell you anything else. Try to guess what my problem is."
This isn't scavenger hunt.
There are software incompatibilities with certain html codes for text input. Android tablet softwares are in its infancy. In fact, it is expected that not everything is compatible. Either learn to live with it or get an ipad. I hear those things are perfect.

Yeah up yours idiot. I asked if someone could help, if you can't, learn to shut up.
OK ok Sorry about that. Been a long and cranky day with a big headache.
So, sweety, for now there is no way around the incompatibilities between the online softwares and the tablet browsers. For all intent and purposes, the tablet platform is still in its infancy.
Apple has solved the incompatibilities by making their mobile safari to not show the contents at all, giving the illusion that everything is all right. Heck, apple devices crash just as often as everything else. The reason most people think apple devices don't crash is because when they do crash there's no error message. In android and microsoft, when something crashes there's an error or force close message. But in iOS, nothing shows up, giving the illusion that everything is ok.
The point is incompatibility issues are headaches you have to run into if you want to walk in the real world. If you don't want the choices and want to live in the blissful walled garden of apple where you're not presented a choice at all, then the ipad is your best choice.
In other news, flash just committed suicide.
Well, is it possible? My video card (ati v7800) has two outputs. So can i just plug in the laptop via vga w/dvi adapter and have it work? or do they have to have the same os to work that way? I want to use the Windows 7 desktop as the main pc. Any help greatly appreciated. thanks.

No, the laptop also has outputs, you can't combine output with output.
If you would have Linux on your desktop-station you could create a second screen-device with a VNC-Server, run a second X-server on that screen and display the screen through your local network with ubuntu on the laptop.
BUT then you have 2 choices how to interact with your second X-server
#1 with the laptops keyboard an mouse
#2 you could pipe your PC interfaces to the laptop through network, but it might be a little tricky to switch between the X-servers
AND with crappy windows something like that will not work i think..
-> Final answer: NO
[Ok, you might find a win-program that allows to pipe the output of a second monitor an a VNC-server, that would solve the problem. But i think something like that doesn't exist]
Greetings
-schumi-
it wont work like you described but like the above person mentioned you can access the PC with vnc software. what you will have to see is if you can find a vnc server that can emulate a second display and extend the desktop to it so it doesn't just mirror the primary display. it is possible in theory to program but I dont know if it exists.
another option would be a USB video capture card for the laptop but ya gotta research which ones work with Linux. also a second monitor is so cheap and easy to come by you are just making thins hard for the sake of making things hard. if you pickup a second display you can use a vnc server on the laptop instead and have the option the access Linux that way. or forget the laptop and create a virtual machine provided you have a bunch of ram available.

"whuhu wrong section.. my mum will come right over here.." thats not what i expect from a member with your experience about moving in this forum.
Greetings
the noob with just 2 posts..
PS: And YOU with your 3k8 posts should know how annoying it is when someone says exactly one sentence and his reply fills the whole screen
@Topic: What might work also:
You could try to start the vnc-server with 2 screens. The 1. (left) monitor will be displayed as regular. The second (right) is only "virtual". Then you should be able to display the second one on the laptop (But i don't know how to cut out the second one from the whole vncstream)
I really didnt expect anyone to reply, but any help is needed. I felt like this forum is familiar to me now and I was sure you guys had some great ideas, with you being devs and all. And it seemed like a simple question to ask. Wasnt tryin to spam the forum honestly.
That said, I have tried to "force" my windows 7 to extend the desktop to another monitor even though there isnt one plugged in. But it wont let me save the changes once i set them. I imagine that if i were to install a virtual video driver that maybe i could do it. But its slowly becoming more trouble. I only wanted to do this because I have a old laptop that I just installed ubuntu on. And ive seen people use there laptops as second monitors through cables. There is a famous cnet video of a guy doing it using windows xp and an xp laptop. And it worked perfectly.
idk. I see this program called maxivista. Im thinking of running this under winehq. apparently it works. although you have to pair it with Synergy for mouse actions. And it costs 40 bucks =/
Yea... that's what I meant dani ...no disrespect to you... just didn't want op thinking that he posted in the right forum.... should have been in android general discussion is all I was getting at... not an infuse related topic. Didn't want the mod shutting him down before he got his answer.

Sorry for the off-topic but really @Ritchie, you are very active on the S7 XDA forums, but as far as I have read your posts, you are just critising and making fun of people instead of providing them real help and a real answer/reply to their question. It is not nice, even if you do not have anything else to do, do not be so rude with people on the forums, instead try to be kind/nice and help them. Not all of the people on this forums know English very well, or they are just not used to forums so they make mistakes. But there is always a nice way of telling/guiding them, no need for sarcastic comments...

I help people all the time but there is a difference between spoon feeding and helping. Many users rather make a new topic then to search the forums because 9 out of 10 the awnser can already be found if they put in some work.
