Hi all,
I just installed the ICS R4.2 into my Samsung S phone, by following the link below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398223
However, it does not come with Google Maps. And trying to install Google Maps from market, but not able to due to unknown GT-I9000 mobile device. I believe that was due to my installation of new ROM.
Any idea how i can get Google Maps?
Thanks.

Flash a gapps package: http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip.
I'm really missing the play store.
Hi all,
Probably this is already answered question but I could not find a specific answer to this question.
I registered a device with google and during registration the device was from factory unrooted.
I had since then rooted the device.
Is there any way, google play can find out that my device is rooted and utter "This app is incompatible with your device." ? or it is just that the app would have been incompatible even without rooting ?
In other words, has google play anything to do with detecting the device is rooted or not to find application compatibility ?
My previous ASUS ME375CG was okay and installed this BOS app but now on my ME175CG (both are intel based tabs) google play says the app is incompatible.
Also how can I find out with new google play what "exactly" has tipped google play to say that the app is incompatibile ?
Thanks all
I've recently installed CyanogenMod 12.1 on my Moto X (2013). For some reason, it god rid if my Google play stuff. all I really want is the play store. I tried to get the services, framework, account management, and the play store, but it still fails. All help apprenticed
Hi
You have to flash Google Apps (GApps) right after installing CyanogenMod. A couple of suggestions:

Thank you for using XDA Assist.
I have just installed a new ROM (Nougat for Samsung Galaxy s4) but I'm 100% it doesn't have to do with this because I factory reset it first and turned it on before installing the new ROM. Then the issue started happening where every time I wanted to use anything in relation with Google it crashes because Google Play Services has stopped working. I thought it wouldn't be a problem after I installed my new ROM. The new ROM is flashed perfectly but I can't set up anything because my Google Play Services is still crashing whenever I want to set up a Google Acc.
Please help me, I've looked through every forum topic.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 running Android 7.1 with the AOSP 7.1.0 ROM. The current version of Google Play Services is 10.0.84 (438-137749526).
Please help because without acces to any google services my device is pretty much rendered useless!

Hi!
I recently bought a Redmi Note 9 4G with a Chinese ROM in China, and as you all understand this limits my accessibility to everything related to Google. The phone is running on MIUI 12, and I'm now desperately trying to get access to everything I could on my phone that I bought back in Europe (such as Android OS, Google Play Services and Play Store as well as syncing to my Google account).
A friend sent me a link with a guide on how to unlock the bootloader and subsequently migrate from a Chinese ROM to a global ROM (
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/b4phic
). After waiting 168 hours (as demanded from Xiaomi) I successfully unlocked my bootloader, and then tried to flash my phone according to the instructions in the link above. My phone completely rebooted (as if it was a factory reset), and it seems like I was able to download a few more apps than I was able to before. However, it still clearly states that I do not have Google Play Services, and the entire phone system does not appear to be Android. It is impossible for me to use apps such as YouTube, Facebook, Gmail etc. despite being able to find APK-files and installing the apps. There is also no Google Play Store.
Could anyone please help provide me with some clarity on this? It would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
