This is how to remove the music controls in the notification bar if you deleted the LG music player and installed another one instead:
1. Get your SystemUI.apk from your ROM
2. Decompile it.
3. Open /res/Layout/indi_music_control_bar.xml
4. Change at the end of the second line
android:layout_height="77.32999dip"
Click to collapse
into
android:layout_height="0.0dip"
Click to collapse
5. Compile it
6. Replace the old SystemUI.apk and reboot.
Thx for information

can you send me the edited SystemUI.apk for Gingerbread, I can not get to work apk tools on my computer
Has something changed in Gingerbread? Because in Froyo, I just launch the Music app, press Menu, tap Settings and uncheck the option that says Show notification, that's all. Works as charm.
By the way, how come you guys have stock Optimus 3D Gingerbread? Mine with Froyo says there are no updates available.

If you delete the LG music app, the controls are still there, even if you disabled them in the app before uninstalling. Is you device a branded one?

I did not delete the app, I have it in the phone, I just don't use it. I simply unchecked the setting and the controls are no longer there.
Since I got the device from a carrier, I am not 100% sure if it is not branded (I did not compare the ROM version), but:
a) It is not that usual in our country to sell branded devices
b) There is no carrier logo on the front or back cover
c) There is no carrier logo in boot animation
d) There are no custom carrier-specific apps
So I tend to believe it is not branded.

There are no settings in the music app, and I also don't know how to do steps 1, 2, 5, 6 . I know, no noobs, but I need a starting point. Anybody care to help?

[Edit: This modification is now in my FREE MoDaCo Toolkit - details]
This modification uses the 'Xposed' system, which must be installed as detailed in this post.
This modification will restore the missing 'back button options' in the 'Settings -> Display, Gestures and Buttons' menu on your HTC One. As it is an Xposed mod, it should be ROM version independent.
To install...
Download and install the modification APK - DOWNLOAD
Enabled the module in 'Xposed Installer'
Reboot
Easy eh? More Xposed modules for the One will follow.
P
Works like a charm. Thanks Paul, great to have this feature enabled... To be honest I wonder why they disabled it from the review units. Who knows eh.
What are the missing back button options, may I ask?
The option to map long press back as menu, removing the black bar.
P
Ah, ok. Thank you

Sure, but this method should be rom version independent and is arguably easier to install once you have the Xposed framework.
Both have their merits!

Have you enabled the module in Xposed, and installed the Xposed binary from recovery as well as the installer APK (and hit install there)?
P
I too am looking for the button options, maybe I didn't read correctly?
What I have done:
I installed the Xposed installer, in the app I hit "install/update"
I flashed the ZIP in recovery (CWM)
I bought and installed the MoDaCo Toolkit app
I activated the module in Xposed
I activated the HTC One option to enable the button options
Now where exactly are those options? What subsection of settings and what is it supposed to be called? In the best case I've just overseen it, but I guess I need some advice on this case.
You need one last reboot there.
Then it appears in Settings -> Display, Gestures and Buttons...

hmmm ok ... i also noticed that its only sometimes that when i hold the back button the app simply closes ... hmm
edit : try facebook app ... i have to try three times till it works ... otherwise app closes !!!!!!
I have no luck it seems. I have done a correct installation and rebooted several times, also between simple steps. The module is active and everything and I now tried the option to disable the children mode function in the power menu. After a reboot this function is still visible.
My values:
HTC One from Vodafone Germany (driven by a T-Mobile card)
unlocked with HTC Dev (S-ON)
ROM: Android Revolution HD v3.3
other mods: Battery 1% mod
Anyone able to point in the direction of my mistake?
I've started making Xposed mods for the One, i'm going to list them here - if you see any more, please add them to this topic... if you have any requests i'll try and look at them too!

I can also confirm that the Per App DPi module works well on all the usual apps (Gmail, YouTube, etc) and the Force Tablet Mode, whilst causing SysUI FC does also work on non-HTC apps pretty well.

I get "installation aborted", when I try to flash this through CWM.
Edit: Ok, found out, you have to rename the zip to apk. However this mod does nothing. Gmail, YouTube ... all stay the same.
Did you open it up to see if its even and apk / zip? The updater-script could have some asserts and thats why you're getting an installation aborted
Hopefully the Google Wallet feature will work with the AT&T devices as we all know the fiasco with the ATT HOX from last year...

dpi
hi
great to have xposed on the ONE
i have installed the settings apk and tried altering some DPI settings for certain apps but i cant seem to get tablet mode working on any app?
thats not to say the dpi scale doesnt change because it does, if you try 190 dpi it makes the app unreadable almost but even selecting the toggle for tablet mode theres no "Dual Pane" tablet mode effect.
No complaints here - just stating my findings, its obviously something in HTCs framework that doesnt support the Tablet principal.
.

SLIGHT EDIT TO THIS POST

Tablet mode does indeed function with the module linked by DUNC001
the module i was using was the per app dpi module which does not crash the system UI but so far wont provide anything but scaling of dpi

Is there a free version of the toolkit?
If I remember correctly, you can't link to a paid app unless you provide a free version.
I think all the modules are available on individual threads (free) but to have the convenience of them all in one place, please pay the awesome PaulOBrian a tiny amount of money for his hard work.

Hi Paul,
Is it possible for you to make a mod which will change the menu button to a double tap of back key instead if long press?
I'm finding that a lot of the time the long press simply just goes back (happens all the time in Tapatalk especially) and it's annoying the hell out of me!
Thanks

The swipe trails don't work very well from my testing... worked for like the first word then started glitching out and creating horizontal lines across the entire keyboard instead of a streak following my finger. Weird. Oh well.
