Hello XDA Members,
I'm still pretty new here and the Nexus 5 is my first Android Smartphone. But I am very satisfied with it and I use a custom Kernel and ROM.
But I have not yet found the perfect one for me. So I collected all the features I want for a ROM and classified them a little bit.
But because I can not code, I ask you if you can realize my ROM. The most features are taken from other ROMs so it should be easy to merge (dont know if its the right term) them.

If this is achieved, you can close XDA.
It's funny that you actually believe that someone will do all these stuff for you. I'm just sorry for the time you wasted writing this...
BTW, have you ever heard about Xposed Modules, Gravity Box and stuff ?

Instead of wasting time in typing such big message you could have easily found an awesome rom by using that Google Search.. You already use a Google product, then why not use another one of it? search my friend..

Oh man thank you! I can not judge as much work that is. But thank you.
And It's not like as if the totally new things, these are only collected features out of Codename Android, Liquid Smooth and NamelessROM and a few other. And the've already 75% of the features, just not one that has them all.
this forum isnt the forum for rom requests.
Let me pull one out of my pocket for you... Hold your breath.
Whatchu talking bout willis!
I can't promise anything, I'm a beginner Dev myself. What I can say is I'll definitely try because I'd like to see a ROM with all these features myself.

I dont believe someone would do that for me. Only that maybe someone gets inspired and a dev who already runs a ROM could merge something. And It's not like as if the totally new things, these are only collected features out of Codename Android, Liquid Smooth and NamelessROM and a few other. I only merged features of different roms..
And yes I have quiet a lot xposed modules and I heard about GB and I even used it.
Hey dude you forgot to say that this rom need to be based on Android 5.0

Every forum I've had a part in on here has had Rom request posts, this isn't a Best Rom post by any means. It's a REQUEST for a new Rom to be built. Xda needs rules yes, what we don't need is vigilante moderators jumping on new members for something that isn't a big deal. You were new at one point to, as were all of us, remember that.

Yeah I am new to XDA and to the Nexus 5 like I said. Sorry for that, I was not aware of it. I already found some nice one, like CNA, Liquid and Nameless. And they all have nice features but everytime there is something missing, but another rom has. So I merged the nice features and wrote this down.

You deserve a reward. You really do. You, my good sir, have found an all new low.
1. XDA is a place designed for developers, not for thankless half asses such as yourself. It is a place where developers are welcomed to shared their work. They have no obligation whatsoever to share at all, and absolutely no reason to cater to the whims of every whining noob. Pardon me if I don't bow down to your mighty greatness, your highness.
2. Have you ever tried to develop a new rom? Its definitely not "oh hey I like this feature lets just copy the code over and it'll work perfectly. It is a massive insult developers who work extremely hard to help the community when you saunter in and put down their work and ask for them to cater to your insignificant whims.
You are not welcome here. Take your childish whining somewhere else. I suggest Facebook.
This is in very early development stages, this ROM is very close to stock Cyanogenmod but the purpose is that is a community built ROM.
There are so many average or barely modified unofficial versions of Cyanogenmod for all sorts of devices lingering around the internet and I don't want this ROM to be the same.
Here's how you install the thing:
- Make sure you're running Clockworkmod Recovery or TWRP
- Copy Gapps and the ROM to your SDcard
- Boot into Recovery
- Do a factory reset (unless coming from another build of CM 11.0 (4.4.4))
- Flash the ROM .zip
- Flash Gapps .zip
- Reboot
Here is the very first version of our ROM, as I mentioned earlier it is basically a stock version of CM but it is there if you want to download and test.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxwUkvQvpOArZGpPZVM5dmZqTE0/edit?usp=sharing
You'll also need some form of Google Apps, pick one from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
The current feature list is:
-DPI of 260 from the stock 320
-Dual SIM support
That's all

We now have a poll at the top of this page. Please participate if you can
Just to point out that Stability, in the poll, encompasses stability and speed
Suggestion: dont add all notifications settings (Halo, Hover, Heads Up) in the same rom, i suggest you slim heads up, is very usefull for making non-intrusive options like call screen, have swipe gesture, and easy way to enable/disable/snooze it, if you add the option to change low battery popup to a notification in the status bar, will be less intrusive, slimroms dont allow enable heads up to system ui, enable it to use for usefull notifications like screenshots, slim recent is other excelent way to have a non-intrusive recents panel, is only suggestions, i see others cm11 based roms with slim roms features and work very smoth, best wishes with your new build

That's a really good idea, I will try and implement it. I do quite like it just it is a bit intrusive. I'll do my best
Just like to point out that I'm only 13 and it's actually my summer break at the moment. Try my best to get all this done but I'm learning all this at the same time aswell so just bear with me. Good job for providing all these suggestions though

I like PA non intrusive background call which is like the one on Mokee
Lockscreen blur, more nav bar settings
Sent from my XT1033 using XDA Free mobile app
Maybe split view and custom progress bar options
Suggestion, linaro toolchain
Damn suggestions! You need do more slim be better, not use many things because rom will be slow with a lot features...

Thanks for take my suggestion, remenber enable slims heads up for systemui.apk, i see changelog from slimroms and in the next weekly will add changeable colors for slims recents, if you dont add it, please add the black slim recents, the white is very ugly (if you add it will be better for use with cm theme system)
Edit: is a great idea from vbdss user add floating windows like paranoid android, launch for heads up(enable/disable) or from recents (long press for display option). That will help for less intrusive use, and improve multitasking
App Side Bar, App Circle Bar and Disable FC Notifications feature.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I got some very nice ideas from @DeHuMaNiZeD via PM and I want to make this ROM as clean as possible. Nice for joining the discussion though, I'll look into wether those features work in the mix of the other stuff I'll be implementing
Hi,
some might remember me for my work shared here on few Nexus original development threads.
I've recently published a new app targeting Android N which makes use of the Quick Settings Tiles API to let you add few new tiles to the Quick Settings layout.
Android N is still in preview stage and I am trying to reach a larger number of users to better understand how everything works and to find ideas, suggestions, bugs and all those things that can help me build a better app.
Your time is appreciated. Thank you
app is here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rascarlo.quick.settings.tiles

I'm loving this app so far. The UI and animations are fantastic, and it's hella-easy to use.
Is it possible to add more than one application tile? I've got a handful of apps I regularly need to use while in other apps (2FA apps, password managers, calculator, etc), and I'd really love to have a tile for each of them. Alternatively, it would be good if there was a "Show favorite apps" Action option in addition to the "Show all installed apps" and "Open selected app" ones.
Even further, any chance for the Weather tile to display temperature and condition icon in the tile itself rather than just being a shortcut to a floating window? Feel free to tell me "no, not possible."
Thanks again for a very cool app!

Thank you.
Yes I can add an option for a list of selected apps.
Yes I could add a logic where the weather tile would display temperature and condition as a summary but imho that would clutter the tile. And should that be triggered after the on click event on the tile or when the tile gets focused? You see, those are some of the same questions I've asked myself while developing the app and I ended up with a dialog. The documentation about the tiles explicit says that tiles should perform action more than being static placeholder. Please let me know what you think

I was kind of picturing a condition icon with just the temperature below it (kind of like the existing battery or signal tiles), which could be periodically updated on a set interval. Keep the tap action, though, to pop up the dialog for additional information.
Of course, going that route may require devoting more effort to the weather piece than the rest of the app. It doesn't need to become another weather app, I just thought it would be nice if that tile could convey some amount of useful information on its own.
Hmm... Would Tasker integration be possible? Maybe you could provide the connection between Tasker and the tiles API, and then the user could create their own set of icons, text, and actions to suit their own needs. I know building that framework wouldn't necessarily be easy, but it might offload some of my particular requests.
There is a free app that does this already and works on 6.0 though? Custom quick settings

So is this like an official, documented API versus a bit of a hack that was just being tested out on M?
I know I used that other app for a little bit but kept running into stability issues with it.
Used code: 2c8p3u61nfw8dmlpv7v6dld
App works splendidly on Shamu, thank you so much for this, really dig the application tile, think it's time to finally retire omniswitch.

Tiles makes use of the new quick settings tiles API made available starting android n. The other app uses the ability on M to add a broadcast tile. Since it's a frameworks API, all events, behaviours, callbacks... are all handled by the android system
I used this code thanks dev

Hi guys, how's your experience so far as far as regarding stability, performance, logic and responsiveness?
By my measuring, testing and debugging, the app should have effects close to minimal on system battery and performance being the API core part of the os.
Since it's a very new thing available starting android N I wanted to make sure everything is working as intended. Your experience matters to me so that if you have the time please let me know what your is and that would be great. Also, play store comments and reviews are there best way to thank me for the app if you are enjoying it.
Thanks
Hey guys, i will be getting my OP3 tomorrow. coming from a long time samsung (Note 2, 3,4,5)... so dont bash me for naming samsung here..
Just wanted to know if there is any mod to enable samsung style notification pull down menu ? i mean when you swipe down, i can see the notifications & few of the quick tile buttons.. this comes very handy having both of them on the same screen..
Thanks for the help guys..
There is one xposed module. Android N-ify puts some quick setings in the notifications and some other Android Nougat features

LChangeProfiles adds a quicksettings tile and a widget to comfortably change the active profile on devices running LineageOS.
I was missing this feature very much since CyanogenMod, so I wrote this app to provide this little feature for devices running LineageOS.
It is small and FLOSS.
You can install LChangeProfiles by adding "https://kaffeemitkoffein.de" to your f-droid repos. This is the best solution, because you then will be informed about updates.
Or you can download the apk here: https://kaffeemitkoffein.de/fdroid/repo/LChangeProfiles.apk
The source code is here: https://kaffeemitkoffein.de/source/LChangeProfiles_source.tar.gz
Please note: This quicksettings tile and widget will work ONLY on a LineageOS custom rom! The LineageOS build must be based at least on API 24 (LineageOS main version 14).
Please also note that due to a bug in older LineageOS builds this app will only work on builds created later than March 23, 2017 ( see https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/166711/ )!
I appreciate any feedback, especially if something is not working as expected.
Have fun!
Hi, thanks for providing this long-missed (long-gone? ) feature.
However I have 1 problem: I tried installing the .apk, which works, but when I edit the status bar quick tiles, I cannot drag the icon for LProfileChange higher than a couple of lines. Then the scrolling stops. So I cannot reach the are for dropping the icon. Any hints why this is the case? KR, TIA, Thomas

In reply to myself: Issue was solved by using LineageOS instead of a LineageOS-based ROM (in my case: resurrectionremix). Now dragging works and the profile switching is back. Thanks a ton, once again, for providing this neat little saved-my-day apk.

Thanks a lot four your feedback, I was just about to take a look into this issue... I am happy that it now works for you as expected. :good:
System profiles in QS tiles should be part of the next release: https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/184653/

Man, you are making my app useless :crying:
However, this is the best way to provide this feature to everybody. Thanks for doing this! :good::good::good:
Does anybody find the widget useful? Does it make sense to focus on a better profiles widget?
Since profile tile isn't there on Lineage 15.1, are there any plans for an update?
Your app gets installed, and I an add it to quicksettings, but it is greyed out and and tapping on it doesn't work...

quicksettings tile
Hi Gaukler,
Thanks for your feedback! Since the quicksettings tile was added back in Lineageos 14.1 at some point, I did not continue work on this app. Interesting to hear that it is missing again in 15.1 ! Unfortunately, I don't have a device where 15.1 is available at the moment, so I cannot do any testing on Oreo, BUT:
Can you please confirm: you tap on the icon in the quicksettings, the icon is greyed out *and nothing happens* ? I mean, no crash etc...???

Yes, nothing. When I have time I could grab a logcat. If it makes sense. Thanks for tour reply. Perhaps the tile will be added again within next builds...
Most likely, the app/tile cannot access the ProfileManager. This sounds very much like this bug from 14.1 https://review.lineageos.org/#/c/166711/, back there in 15.1??? If you bother, you could check your logcat if it looks the same like in the bug report.
If yes, the solution is to post a bug report again, this time for LinegeOS 15.1.

Is it possible to make a "Performance profile" quicksettings tile? To switch between Power save and Performance mode?
Is there similar solution for LOS 16?
