I need more details. Are you on jb, kitkat, or gb? Try wiping cache and dalvik....
check status under settings / about phone ..
Does the IMEI show up?
Does it match what is on your SIM card?
If not your SIM slot connectors may need some clean up - try using CRC QD Electronic Cleaner along with something very small and non-abrasive to get at the contacts - be very careful not to damage or bend the contact wires. As a first attempt, remove the SIM card, spray the cleaner (a couple small squirts to hit the contacts), spray a small amount on the SIM card, insert/remove the SIM card, gently clean the SIM card, then wait 10 minutes for everything to dry. You can use compressed air (i.e. Dust Off) if you have it to dry around the area - gently.
If you still don't see your IMEI, you may need a replacement SIM card.
Or it could me something else altogether.... :fingers-crossed:

My MyTouch 4g does not read any sim card. I have sim unlocked the phone and s=off. Ive flash all the radios non work! Tried 4 different sims (T-mobile, AT&T,Straight Talk (NOKIA E71), Simple Mobile) all failed. Flashed 5 different roms including the orginal.
Can any one help me????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe the sims card sensor readers on the phone by the battery are damaged have u had anything get into yo phone like dust or water
HTC Glacier (Black) - Virtuous Unity 2.39/Kernel V9 Unity/Beats Audio/Good Screen/Good Emmc
Are you inserting the sim card the right way?
i havent got any water in it. I have to check for dust and yes im intersting it just like the picture on the phone
The first thing I'd go with on something like this is a physical problem.
Is the SIM card seating properly in the little slot? There's that metal bar that goes over it to give the springy connectors something to push against to form a good contact. It's possible that the connectors aren't being pushed into the card enough.
It's worth a shot to push it in with a finger with the battery cover off just to see if you can make a connection. If you get anywhere with that maybe try cutting a playing card up and sliding it in over the SIM to basically make the SIM card a little big and tighter in the slot.
Since different cards aren't working and different ROM's don't fix it it's a fair bet that you're looking at a hardware problem. If it's an electronic problem you're screwed. If it's a "the slot doesn't hold the card tight problem" you have options.
May be too simple, but did you put your SIM card in the wrong way? Haha, don't be offended, because I am not trolling in any way. But this happened to a friend of mine the other day.
I actually joined this site for the same problem but my WiFi and Bluetooth don't work either. Mine is obviously a radio problem but I can't seem to get my phone to flash new radios...
Hey everyone. My partner has a I5800 and since I started to root it, after about 3 months its started this "no sim card inserted" or "sim blocked"
Now... I have changed through 4 ROMs. No one saying any problem with that. Is it the phone? I have checked the card and it is in there safe and sound. Please help.
Thanks
Try using the sim card in another phone. If the sim card doesn't work then it's a problem with the sim card.
Take out the SD card and rub it with pencil eraser, then put it back in the phone and reboot. (Worked for me)
Breathing on the contacts before sticking the SIM into phone worked many times for me. Moisture helps reducing the contact resistance. Sounds like a short term solution, but worth a try.
So i needed to change the module board of SIM Card, got one on ebay, opened the phone and replaced the little board with 1 flex conector.
but NOW when i turn on the phone theres no message of "sim card not found" and theres circled slash on where suposed to be network.
am i missing something or i might just screwd it up?
Open it up again and make sure everything in connected correctly and that nothing is shorted.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
ok finally made it.
the thing was that its so damn fragile...o replaced many times the boards in many diferent and sensitive ways...and then one way worked out even though i cannot tell whats the different between the correct position and the other ones that did not recognize the SIM CARD module/board.
Error for me too

Hi, I am facing the same issue. Whatever the sim I am inserting, I am getting "Insert Sim Card" message only. Will this work if I replace same like what you did? Can you paste the link?

I had a similar problem, turned out the replacement tray was bad.
I don't get to say this often but I actually encountered great customer service. I ordered the replacement sim card tray/sdcard holder for a Samsung device on which the sim card reader had been damaged. I received the one piece tray but the sdcard slot was non-functional. I wrote an email pointing out the flaw with no expectations. Got a new part in 2 days. No run around at'all! No 2 hours navigating an automated phone nightmare (Net10/AT&T), just a dang email. I gave em good feedback ratings on their site of course! I don't know if it's allowed but it's so rare to find good folks I feel the need to pimp em.

Phone is working fine. Reading sim, microsd card but sadly i'm stuck on 2g now.
disassembly
I am in having to replace the sim card holder on my skyrocket but I am having trouble finding out how the sim card holder board is attached to the main board,,could someone direct me to some kind of disassembly guide or something
thanks
I've been researching this issue and have found a lot of threads about bad/corrupted SD cards randomly unmounting themselves. But the issue my phone seems to have is that the SD card isn't securely seated, and I haven't found much, if any, info on how to fix it.
Basically, my SD card unmounts if I bump my phone the wrong way. More often than not, it happens when I'm putting the battery cover back on. I did some fiddling with it, and once the card is inserted, if I gently pull on the card towards the edge of the phone, it unmounts. If I gently push it back towards the center of the phone, it remounts. I don't think it's an issue with my particular card (SanDisk 32GB Class 4) b/c I've tried two other cards (another SanDisk and an Kingston) and they all do the same thing.
I've tried pushing down on the card slot a bit to try and tighten up the metal sleeve that the card fits into with no luck. I've also tried putting a small piece of tape on top of the card to make it seat more firmly. Neither approach works. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. I just got the phone recently and have been very happy with it (MUCH better than my old Droid RAZR). But I take a lot of pictures w/ my phone, so having a sketchy SD card is driving me nuts!

Hello guys
So my problem is that sometimes my SIM gets disconnected from my device without any reason. It can reconnect by itself, but most of the time I have to reboot and the worst is that it can still be disconnected.
I tried cleaning my SIM slot, cleaning my SIM card, but now I don't know what to do.
Did you guys already experienced this ?
Thanks.
I fixed this issue recently by putting a small piece of the sticky part from a post-it note on the simcard and then putting it back in.

cut a piece of post-it slightly smaller than the size of the sim card, and stick it flat to the top of the sim card (not the side with the metal contacts). Then put it back in the sim tray and put it back in the phone. Make sure you use the sticky part of the post it so it stays on the sim card.
