I know this question really belongs in the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 developer's forum, But since I'm new here, I'm prevented from asking in the proper forum until I ask ten questions here.
So - I'm running v2.7 of the ANGi Ultra-Smooth kernel on stock 4.2.2. I tripped across PurePerformance scripts and am wondering if the PP scripts are compatible with the Ultra-Smooth scripts? For example, Ultra-smooth allows setting a swap file. So, apparently, does PP.
I installed PP, but it actually seemed to make my tab run slower. So I restored via Nandroid.

Hi
I would like to have asked this question on the development thread but as i'm a new member i'm not allowed.
I am currently using the CyberGR ROM, which i'm finding excellent. However I would like to use this mod to remap the search key to recent apps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21501238
This thread has mods for CM9 v3 or AOKP m3 or AOKP b26. I believe it only replaces android.policy.jar.
I would like to know whether i could use one of these mods with CyberGR-MOD 8.0? Does this ROM use android.policy.jar from any of the above versions?
Any help appreciated.
Adam
I cannot say for certain, but it might. The reason being that CyberGR-MOD is built on the CM9 and AOKP parts, as stated in the first bullet point of the main thread:
"Based and built-on from latest sources of CyanogenMOD 9 + AOKP Parts"
besides, it doesn't hurt to try it out yourself. download the mod, copy to your USB storage, do a NANdroid backup, and flash the mod to try it out. if something goes sideways, just restore the backup you just made.
Thanks for the reply.
I have tried this and con confirm that is does not work. I got into a boot loop after apply the mod for CM9 v3 and AOKP b26.
Hopefully this feature will be in the next CyberGR ROM version......
Looked everywhere and believe that only the GT 7500 series using the A1 kernel can be overclocked. Found a thread but was not allowed to post as junior member. Nothing close was found in general questions so I tried this method. Goal is to have an overclocked sch i905 with stock ICS or a third parties Fully working (meaning that all hardware attributes work -front camera -LTE etc) again overclocked.
If not possible - oh well - If I am missing something then bless the person who guides me in the correct direction.
Hello everybody,
I'm looking for a good kernel for an ICS rom (I'm still on stock 4.0.4).
I have been looking at [Kernel][S4 ICS][10 DEC][SENSE] Beastmode BRICKED Ville [Linaro -O3][3.0.56].
I have a few questions about that kernel:
1) does it support init.d scripts?
2) does it improve multitasking in any way? Other kernels use zRam for this purpose, but I don't understand if this kernel does that too. Has "Google Snappy Compression" (mentioned in the features) something to do with this?
3) will I need to use a 3rd party app (like kerneltuner) in order to undervolt? And will the undervolt stick when shutting down the phone?
4) will I be able to go back to the stock kernel by restoring a backup with TWRP?
Those features are implemented in Fusion kernel, although it's no longer mantained...
Thank you in advance, it's my first time studying the kernel subject, sorry for bothering.
xDA developers community here first thank you for pumping life back into nexus 4
I rooted, custom recovery using CWM running N5 port from best developer and user friendly Dev ever Mr Anderson
However being so simply noon I always prefer trial and error and learn the hard way.
I installed touch control for n4 from this thread
[APP/MOD] TouchControl (Nexus 4)
And it downloaded and updated the kernel, my bad no back made prior flashing extra the three way boot. I come to learn the kernel isn't compatible with N5 port stock image 4.4.2
I am a newbie here and love it when stuff works. I respect posts and op also xda rules, yes I know I need to read prior ask, well I've searched and read more than 100 posts on nexus no less than 50 pages per thread
Y question, what kernel I am on from N5 image stock ROM 4.4.2, touch control is playing around, touch ain't responsive couple of times therefore I want to uninstall but anything I should do to re- flash custom kernel again. And where can I get the kernel, I know where but as said am newbie and can't ask or post on threads yet.
Thank you for this great experience I had and huge knowledge I got on Linux android ADT adb debugging modes custom recovery and kernels, not to forget flashing custom Roms

Hello,
I'm just looking to get some advice / help on overclocking. I'm not new to rooting or even running ROMS however I am a complete noob to playing with CPU / GPU settings.
Is anyone else running this kernal with a custom ROM? (I'm currently Skyhigh Kernel with the Deathstalker ROM)
The last thing I want to do is break my device! hence the post.
Thanks in advance for any information given.
