Dimm icon on click / tap - General Questions and Answers

Hello!
I am using Omega ROM (Android 4.1.2 with TouchWiz) for my Samsung Galaxy SII, and I have a stupid problem / need. When I click / tap on a icon in home screen or drawer, I want that icon to dimm a little, to show me that I actually clicked on it.
I decomplied TouchWiz launcher APK and found an interesting method in AppIconView.apk - it is called setDimmed, but unfortunately I have no idea what I can do with it. Can somebody take a look at my launcher apk, and with some magic add that dimming to icons on click / tap?

Well theme Chooser came out and it would be nice to be able to change features (icons, text color, etc) and be able to save them within Android itself and choose accordingly in the theme Chooser instead of a bunch of XML edits and apk edits

I want to see less threads about jelly bean wishlists.
For me, its 3G video calling and more refined UI
Options to customise the menu bar at the bottom. So always have the home button, but choose if back button, app list visible. Want the touchwiz screenshot button? Hold the menu bar, select the 'mini widget' and drop it there. Want the touchwiz popup app menu? Hold and select.
Want a mini widget that always shows if there's a new email and count? Choose if you want that notification to pop up in the usual notification area, or if a fixed point on the menu bar (tool bar?).
The popup settings bar, with the clock/notifications. Allow that to be customised too. Choose if you want it drag down from the top, pop up from the bottom and how (kinda built in Cyanogen features), and again, if you want mini-widgets on that to turn on/off wifi/bluetooth. The stuff that's there, but not standardised. Then, if Samsung/HTC want to customise their phones/tablets, it's just those mini-widgets they default to, to get the look they want. If you don't like it, you remove them and use standard halo theme. (or select more featured ones from the play store).
So if you want a really clean look, you can hide all those buttons, and use gestures (press and hold the menu bar, show the possible widgets, with settings per widget on which gesture to activate).
-rotatable home/lockscreen
-very fast screen orientation
-changeable color themes
-customizable lockscreen and notification bar
-more visual (transition)effects

Native DLNA might be nice
I would love if the virtual soft buttons could be changed around too for handsets that Have them.
A longshot and probably not possible very easily but Uncompressed Images or at the very least, Lossless ones from any device cameras.
And on devices that have one, Configurable alerts for the on-board notification LED if I remember right way way back when my old Epix running winmo 6.x was able to do this.

[HowTo] Android 4.2.2 lockscreen notifications on Android 4.1.2

How to get Android 4.2.2+ lockscreen notifications on Android 4.0.X - 4.1.X
1. Install WidgetLocker Lockscreen
2. Remove clock & WidgetLocker's slide locker (not the default Android slide lock)
3. Install NiLS Notifications Lock Screen
4. Open WidgetLocker & add the NiLS widget
5. Resize the NiLSwidget so it extends as far up as you can and down as far as you can drag it just above your default lock icon
6. Now it will almost look like Android 4.2.2 like in the screenshot on the NiLS Play Store page
If anyone would like more information, please reply and I would be happy to add more including a screenshot tutorial. It took me awhile (<n00b) to figure this out, so I imagine I'm not the only one that might like to do this.

mistake and restore jelly bean lockscreen
Hi,
i have a little problem because i removed with WidgetLocker Lockscreen a jelly bean button ( with camera left, up with google now and right with unlock lockscreen )
my question is: how can i restore it?
i tried to restore it with WidgetLocker Lockscreen that have this button but isn't the same like original because don't have google now up.
thanks for the support
I meant remove WidgetLocker's slider, not the default Android lock slider. I did the same thing you did by accident, too. Just choose the ics or jellybean theme depending on what version of Android you're running and you'll have it back.

Thanks for the tips!

just long press on empty space and press add a locker, then choose jelly bean theme
Screen shots would be great
Specifically of step 2, removing the clock and slide locker (I think that's two separate steps) and
step 4, adding the NiLS widget.
Thanks,

This launcher is not ported from S4/S5, the ported accuweather widget may not work because it need the original TouchWiz launcher.

You might want to type in the Devs name "Nikao" instead of the launchers title name.
I am impressed here, but would be lovely if you add more S5 touchwiz features...another think I noticed it does not quite tablet optimized launcher. I tried on my Nexus 7 and icons a bit small, plus icon title underneath cut off (can't see app name of icon if app name is a bit longer).. and like someone said it is a nice mix between the TouchWiz launcher and the KitKat's Google launcher, but why they use your launcher if it is more like Google launcher while they can easily download, and don't forget about all other cloned kk google launchers too, so my recommendation is make it more like true S5 launcher (be different, right)
Great ... does touchwiz weather widget work on this luncher??

Has anyone figured out a workaround to changing icons on the Google Now Launcher?

I'm using the Google Now launcher on my S7, and it along with a Marshmallow theme from the Samsung theme store has given the phone a nice stock Android look. Unfortunately, the icon pack included along with the Marshmallow theme hasn't applied on GNL. I know GNL doesn't natively support icon packs but has anyone figured out a workaround for this? The TouchWiz icons stand out otherwise. And when I say icon packs, I mean in the app drawer too, not just modded shortcuts on the home screen.
In case you have root you can use Xposed and the XGEL module to use a different icon pack:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-xposed-gel-settings-t2647275
Otherwise (i.e. without root) I would recommend a launcher like Nova.
I'm not rooted.

Use Nova Launcher. You can set it up to look exactly like GEL, but it's more functional and performs better. You can use Google Opinion Rewards to build up a couple of £/$ to cover the cost of "Prime" but it's not necessary.
Fyi for anyone googling this or looking for this still. I had my s7 edge display scaling set to condensed to fit more on the screen. Once I changed it back to standard (with the material Samsung theme applied) and rebooted the correct icons appeared. Could be that the change forces the launcher to recreate icons or clear it's cache etc.
Also, stock android lovers, install good lock from the galaxy app stores to bring the stock android notification shade and status bar into your s7. Got a very stock feel now with Samsung material theme, Google now launcher and good lock.
Hope this helps someone.
So switch your display scaling after setting your theme should flush the icons ??
