[Q] Sero 7 Pro custom Rom small issue. - General Questions and Answers

Hey peeps, I tried this rom over here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=41875870&postcount=3
Its really cool and it comes with some cool things, but for some random reason my Angry Birds Go! graphics look really bad compared to the original ROM. I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or I need to do something that I am not doing...
Note: I tried with the 213dpi and 180dpi version... Also, my device reads as a Nexus 7 in the about tab, which is odd because is not a Nexus at all.

Reviews for the game in the Google Play Store sound like it's a hit-or-miss proposition as to whether the game runs well or not -- I see lots of folks giving bad reviews because it won't run on their device. That may be the problem, and I'd check it out myself but don't feel like downloading a 168MB game to find out if it's the Sero 7's fault or not.
I'm a recent convert to the dopa v1.1 ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470998 ) and that's been working out very well for me so far; I read the thread for xboxexpert's ROM but decided to go with dolorespark's ROM as it appears to be in more active development at the moment. There's still plenty of activity in the XE-SeroROM thread -- you should ask in there and see what other folks running the same ROm as you have to say about it.

ROM for Child

I'm giving my son my old Fuze, what would be the best ROM to flash for him to use.
I'm wanting stable and simple to understand.
Any suggestions?
What a parent!
I highly suggest the EnergyROM series - read around and find the right version (something stable, perhaps not the latest version) - I have always found EnergyRom to be very slick, easy to use, and includes practically all the software he could want to get started using the phone.
The only thing really missing is extra games which you know he's going to want.

Just simply add this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=464758
Yes you can add that arcade pack. I did install the largest one - but the games are so so- there really isn't that much entertainment in those games.
Plus most of them are old - real old, like not compatible with VGA all that well kinda old. There are some cool games starting to show up on the Marketplace, but yeah - there is a way to easily add a ton of games to any rom.
Still my vote is for an EnergyROM

[Q] Can you all point me to a Reliable Fast and Supported Tablet?

So after the past week or so i have done some casual research. Looking thru various sites getting some not so reliable feedback i figured i would just ask at the top.... And i dont know why i didnt in the first place..
I am looking to get a Android Tablet when taxes come. Something not to expensive but not a cheap piece of junk either.
I am looking for something reliable, fast good graphics, a decent camera if possible certianly gps, wifi, bluetooth. I would like to dock it in my car for its Gps potential, and for movies and certianly its music capabilities (like power amp) and pandora last fm ect. I figured i would tether it to my Droid 2, and no i wont be watching movies on it thats more for my wife, friends ect.
I would defenatly want it to have the android market on it, wether i have to put it on there myself or if it was stock. I want to be able to play games like angry bird or whatever. Not just simple low end games but the potentintal to play anything i might want to..
And lastley i would like something that defenatly has some community backbone to it. Something that has been rooted, that people know and i can get reliable support on. I dont want to be running 1.6 on it it has to be like 2.0 or 2.2 and i can upgrade it. Something that runs really smoothly and has at least one decent rom.
I see some of these people who bought cheap tablets off ebay from Hong Kong or whatever and there having to scour the net just to find out what excatly it is called.. I dont really wana do that lol.
If i can find it locally great! If i got to order it off the net then so be it. I just want something that is open, reliale, smooth, fast and has some support behind it...
Sorry if this is the wrong section i looked for a overall tablet form but couldnt find one on XDA and i didnt want to post in every forum. If you have anylinks or even one u are thinking about buying like a link let me know id love to check it out!
Thanks Everyone!
Dude, get a NookColor! $249, supported in ROM Manager, and I'm sure soon to have full ROMs released..
It doesn't have a camera (but your Droid 2 does...) so that might be a deal breaker. It's not a tablet, it's an e-reader, but it's a neat little thing. I can't wait to see the development take off.
Other than that, the Motorola Xoom looks promising, but it's currently unreleased.

I would recommend the nook Color as well except for the fact that it is lacking a GPS. Therefore it does not fit into the car model. I have one for my son and it is a nice device.
The gps is kind of a nessisity for me, i could give up the camera but im stuck with the gps. But the nook or nook color is out for me. I see it as lacking later on because of its processor and it wasent built to be a tablet. I want something that will ride out for a few years if possible. It needs a 1 ghz prosessor and sufficent ram. And i got to have 2.2+ on it. And 7 inch minumum. Thank you for the suggestion thus far though
Consider the Archos 101 or 70.
Pretty sure it has everything.
There is a forum for it here too.
as far as I know no tablet meets your demands ( 1ghz/2.2/lotso ram/etc) probably best shot at the moment is a flytouch II from lightinthebox ...
10", decent rom support coming together, inbuilt gps, 2 cardslots for storage, android 2.1 with kernel 2.6.32.9 once you upgrade/update it to v1568 firmware.
another OEM provider promised 2.2 was going to be out last weekend but havent seen anything filtering out as of yet

Actually, Archos already has 2.2 with 1ghz
http://www.archos.com/products/ta/archos_101it/specs.html?country=ca&lang=en
The RAM is not listed on that page but it would be easy to find out.
I'm just stepping out.
And there seems to be a GPS solution here http://forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=37910
Sry... what I meant was I want to run the most uptodate firmware I can so im kosher with 2.1 what im hoping to avoid is where I have seen a lot of them running 1.6. I've been thinking about archos but I just haven't heardb from anyone who ones a archos or a flytouch.. I would defenatly like to hear experiences... thanks again everyone

Also and i forgot to mention it.. It has to have a Capacitive and Multitouch screen like my Droid X or Droid 2.... Does that FlyTouch have that? cause i cant seem to find any information pertaining to that.
no flytouch2 is not multitouch but otherwise i am more than happy with mine, best €130 ish i've ever spent

Can Knockdown 2 and AOKP

Can someone confirm that Can Knockdown 2 works OK on AOKP on this tab. I'm still on stock and after about 10 minutes of playing it starts to lag, i'm wondering if it's the tablet or the software.
I'm on the fence about keeping it so i'm not quite ready to root it. I know it sounds silly but playing simple games like this helps with some frustration while at work.
I can confirm it is not your tab specifically. Many games for some reason lag on this thing. It has the same GPU as the galaxy nexus and it has less pixels to support so I am really not sure why stuff lags on this tablet while the same game runs smoothly on the gnex.
I installed Galaxian-Soup's AOKP-Milestone 5 (as explained on this thread) and it almost works...
The only problem so far has been that the microphone seems to be off...
I made a post in the General section to ask for help, because I'm a newb on this forum and can't ask for help on the original thread... bummer... (not to critique the forum rules, just saying that in my particular case it's not easy to ask for help).
Cheers,
David.
Ya I was having nothing but lags, and I know that you all have looked, but I forgot at first... Settings > Developer Options > Force GPU rendering, make sure that's checked! I did this to my friends Galaxy Nexus and it help out there as well. I know, no brainer, but never know who forgets.

[Q] Has anyone tried this with their Note Pro?

I've found this on Youtube and it was used for another tablet. Apparently , it installs Windows 8 on an Android tablet and someone could back up the Android partition in case said person wanted to get back to Android.

Has anyone tried this on their Note Pros yet?
I am not enthused about win 8 on any platform.

... didn't even know it was around... well, maybe I'm being unneedfully suspicious, but there's lots about this ( I watched the video ) that doesn't quite work...
... how Windows 8 is running on whatever chipset is in his tablet escapes me. My gut instinct is to say it's in some sort of virtualized container, but ...
... I noticed at the end of the video there was virtually no demonstration of how it performed. did the touch screen work? Was it laggy?
... anytime I'm just clicking away and letting software from who knows where just fly on to my device, well, I need to have my head examined.
It would be super cool if this was legit and produced a functional way to swap between OS's; I'm just not buying it for now based on what the site and video is showing.
I have an android tablet to avoid windows tablets... Pretty much zero reason to use Windows short of office.

Echo the opinions of others when I say I have absolutely no desire to ever own a windows tablet.
The website in question though just screams STAY AWAY to me. It's clean . . too clean . . there's no testimonials, no compatibility lists, and no support FAQs or forums of any kind to allow one to see a history of testing and interaction with users. For me, support is often a big deal and that should especially be true for a product such as this where you're potentially going to softbrick your device when you repartition it. While I'm sure there would be a way to get back to stock I'm not the least bit interested in finding out . .

I'm between Android and Mac/iOS myself. Wherever the art geared tech flows, I follow, but that's just me. I don't see the point of Windows tablets myself, but if factors changed, I'd jump only with the other options had nothing to offer me anymore.
Don't even need Office anymore. Just get Libreoffice, which got a heavy UI overhaul recently. I just found it as a curiosity. I still remember running a virtual machine of 2000 on the Note 10.1 , and it was slow as can be. I'm not sure how well virtual machines run on the Note Pro, but I doubt anything beyond XP would run well.

I agree with all your points. I found the site and a lack of an actual forum to navigate to be unfortunate, because I'd like to experiment with the software. I might sacrifice my outdated Captivate to see how this works.
That website is completely fake. DO NOT USE.
We've discussed changemysoftware.org several times before on XDA. It's fake.

[Completed] Looking for a custom ROM for this nurvo

Hi all
Thanks firstly I've found this site excellent for rooting and flashing my samsung tab2/nexus7 etc 5*
But now I'm stuck and I have a challenge
I have a 10 inch nurvo tablet that is rooted (SuperSU etc)
But I cannot find a custom ROM that will make this thing any good!
Specs::
Model number:nurvo10dcb
Android version:4.2.2
Firmware:2.1_20140213
Kernal:3.4.39+
Build:a20_k1001_k1001L1c_1402051.20140305
I'm trying to get some use from this tab other than a slow inaccurate TV remote(YouTube via Chromecast etc)
Its so bad!(touch drivers are very slow
I really want something more refined like slimkat or just something that works rather than whatever this was designed for (picture frame maybe
Huge thanks and sorry if I've put this in the wrong place.
It would be nice to have the same flexibility my Samsung tab2 with 6.1 and nexus with slimkat

Hello and welcome to xda-assist,
as this is an unpopular device, especially compared with the Samsung tab2, you won't nowhere get equal or only nearly the support of a popular device, that's the hard truth..
If you can't find anything on simple Google search or on the forums
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help
there's non and you're bound to xposed & root, just like many other people, long not all devices are supported by development, only a few selected and that's why it is so important to research the device before you buy when you're in to flash & stuff..
Good luck
Hi
I thought it was pushing it with this nurvo and if I had the time to check it out before I bought it I'd have avoided it
I did see some info about someone and custom ROMs but cannot find it.
Its rooted fine (kingo)but without a decent ROM its just junk as its just too slow
Its fine for kids to play with and slowly using as a remote but that's it
Thanks mate
I will keep my ears open just in case but I won't hold my breath: (
