Hello,
i have question. I want choose cheap tablet for games like GTA San Andreas, GTA Vice City. I know 200 dollars isn´t much
Here are my list:
Prestigio PMP5785C (quad core CPU and GPU (Mali400MP-4cores too) 7" display
Acer Iconia Tab A1-810 (better brand ? quad core CPU, i don't know how many cores PowerVR SGX544 has) 8" display
What do you recommend ? What is better for gaming ? Both tablets have USB OTG for my gamepad.
Thanks
Maybe condor ctab 970lQD 1.6quad CPU Mali 400mp GPU & retina iPad screen 2048x1536. 9.7inch 2gb ram

I think Prestigio PMP5785C is better for gaming. Although Acer Iconia Tab A1-810 has good features and performance for price but it struggles with most intensive games.
Those are your only options? 200 is your max budget?
The Prestigio seems better, but probably can get a better one if you buy it online

i'd go for prestigio
I tried both and i think that Acer is better Acer has a really bad display (bad dark colors and bad brightness level). Prestigio had problem with storage there is only 5GB free storage (Acer had 15GB). I don't why, maybe its some kind of bug and there were problems with Wifi and it was laggy in menu

I just have ordered a Tablet PC, but not pay it yet. because it is 7 Inch Capacitive Screen Android 4.0 and only $79.5 , free shipping
I do not know whether it's worth!
looking forward more ideas!
Can you say more about this tablet? What is CPU, GPU, RAM etc?
the review looks good

Mali 400 is very good GPU in this GPU you can run most games!
And CPU A13 1GHz is too very good for this price! You can in this tablet watch fullHD movies and i think web browsing in for example Opera Mobile would be nice
I've got one of these similar devices. Trust me, they might sound good, but they fall apart if you plan to use it extensively. Mine randomly doesn't install apps for some reason, I have to install apps 3 - 5 times before they will install correctly. Pathetic.
The deal-breaker would be 512Mb RAM and 4GB Storage. If there's no expendable storage, you shouldn't buy.
by the way, check this one out

Hmmmmm..the other specs seems too good for the price..but..the resolution seems tooooo low for a tablet. 480x800 looks good on only smartphones. It will look ugly on a 7 inch tablet

Tablet would be a good for development to test your apps. Not sure about daily usage though, might be a little janky......
That tablet sucks.
Cheapest tablet for the money is the Ainol Aurora. Anything cheaper will disappoint.

thanks, everyone!
this is one of the many models of the Chinese market. a 2-fold lower price it's a gimmick. Look on the characteristics of the tablet is mnogo.protsessor A13 is the cheapest right now.
There are a bunch of different models of the ICOO D50.
You have to read the specifications very carefully.
The one with 1024 x 600, HDMI out and 8 GB doesn't look bad.
Ainol Novo 7 Aurora II
Cortex A9 1.5 Ghz CPU, dual core Mali400 GPU, 7 inch LG IPS screen with 1024x600 resolution.

I can't post links yet
it depends on how you use it,don't expect it can work like ipad.
however the price is not good for this chinese tablet, maybe you can add a little to get a refurb. nook
good luck
here is a video of the tablet.... looks pretty good to me. main thing i worry about is the battery life.... 2600 ma.

Hi guys, I'm currently torn between a few phones,
can you help me?
My budget is up to 300 euros (MAX), I can purchase the phone from either Netherlands or Germany, does anyone know any good shops there btw?
Anyway,
My question is which is better, the LG Optimus 2X (299 Euro), Xperia Sola (279 Euro) or Xperia Arc S (279 Euro)
I'm pretty much looking for the best gaming performance, the LG has Tegra2, the Sola has Mali-400MP 1 Core, and the Arc S has Adreno 205,
There is no comparison between these GPUs, I've searched for hours, and also there's no comparison of the Mali-400 single core to quad core variant anywhere!
Also, there's no definitive comparison between a Dual Core 1GHZ Cortex A9 to a single core 1.4GHZ Snapdragon Scorpion CPU!
This is what I've got so far, only the stuff I care about in the phone (for example, I don't care about the camera or whether its TFT or AMOLED).
1. LG Optimus 2X
-Dual core 1.0ghz and Tegra2 Seems to be the best. (Good)
-4.0" Screen (Good)
-Battery performance seems to be in the gutter ~1500mAh. (Bad)
-More Expensive
2. Xperia Sola
-Dual core and Mali-400MP1 (Good or bad?)
-Battery built into phone, can't replace it or get a replacement battery, 1320mAh. (Bad)
-3.7" Screen (Average)
-Coolness factor - Hover touch and cool Tags, NFC Capable
3. Arc S
-Single Core 1.4GHZ (Good or bad?)
-Adreno 205 (Good or bad?)
-4.2" Screen (Good)
-Average Battery life
Thanks in advance!!!
I would go with the LG Optimus 2X. But, I'm no expert. I would be interested in what others think.
I would completely eliminate the xperia arc S b/c it is a single core and that it has an outdated adreno 205 gpu. That means you will get lag and not be very optimal for gaming.
That said, the top gpu in your choices is most definitely the Mali 400 in the Xperia Sola. It is better than the Tegra 2 in almost all aspects. Tegra 2 also has one major drawback and that it does not have NEON support. NEON is basically a video optimization software built into the gpu, but Tegra does not have it, so some video formats cannot play properly or not at all.
As for comparisons, here is one: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4686/samsung-galaxy-s-2-international-review-the-best-redefined/16
The Tegra 2 is labeled as the ULP GeForce and you will see that the Mali 400 blows it out of the water.
Also on a side note, there are many hardware problems with the LG Optimus 2X, like random reboots or bad signal, so overall, in terms of build quality, cpu and graphics, go for a xperia sola.

I was basing my recommendation on the Mali GPU in the Galaxy S2: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4177/samsungs-galaxy-s-ii-preliminary-performance-mali400-benchmarked.
Also, this article suggests the Tegra 2 is better: http://www.differencebetween.com/difference-between-mali-400mp-gpu-and-vs-tegra-2/.
But, as I said, I know very little about these GPUs and phones.

Well, most articles favor Mali 400 MP. Both are strong gpu's, but the lack of NEON video optimization is a deal breaker.

The Mali is a good gpu but you should know that the sola has a Mali 400 mp1
that means it's singlecore but the gpu of the s2 is the Mali 400mp4 it's the quadcore version:banghead:

oh yeah, you're right, that is a Mali 400 MP1. I wasn't aware of that. That really sucks then.
If thats the case, then go with the LG Optimus 2X. The Tegra 2 has a 8 core gpu. That's definitely better than a single core gpu anyday.
Sorry for the confusion.

The Galaxy S3, although a great phone, is 500 euros which is far beyond the OP's budget.
Since you'll be gaming, the most powerful gpu and the longest battery life matter most. LG wins both counts.Get the LG,flash a barebones ROM that frees up ram and increases battery life, and game away.

LG released a fix for the restarting bug I found on the net.
It plays H264 MKV files no? are the missing codecs that much of a problem?
Thanks for the help guys!!
But just last thing, 1.4GHZ single core VS 1.0GHZ dual core = dual core winner?
Mali-400MP 1 Core VS Adreno 205 = Mali winner?

Arc S > Sola in all areas.
Mali 400mp1 < adreno 205 it's just that adreno is aging.

My apologies if this thread is in the wrong place. It seems like the best place, but please move to a more appropriate spot if it isn't.
I was wondering if people had opinions on these two new GPUs, given the current/upcoming retail options.
From what I have seen of benchmarks and articles on anandtech, I think it's very likely that the T604 will be generally superior by a good margin. However, the Adreno 320 is available on a 10", 800x1280 tablet (padfone 2), while the Mali T604 (assuming rumors are to be true, and it seems rather confirmed at this point) will soon be available on a 10", 1600x2560 tablet (nexus 10).
Given the quadrupling of the resolution on the nexus 10, which device do you think will perform more smoothly? Obviously a sharp resolution looks great, so that scores the nexus 10 big points, but when paging through the launcher, scrolling chrome, and playing games, which would you expect to maintain a smoother frame rate?
I'm mostly curious about the GPU, but if anyone has any opinions about a dual-core cortex A15 like the Exynos 5250 vs quad core Krait, I would enjoy hearing about those as well! This is all just nerd-dreaming anyway
Personally, I would probably go for a nexus 10 if I were to buy a tablet, but I think my 2012 dream tablet would have been Exynos 5/Mali T604 on a 1200x1920, 10" tablet - like the transformer pad infinity - or 1080x1920 on a 7" tablet.

Bump.
Anyone got any idea about how badly T604 smokes Adreno 320?
And about how badly Rogue will f*** T604?
What's the ETA on A15+Rogue chipsets?
AFAIK, ST-Ericsson is the only one left now that was supposed to be making them, now that OMAP is dead in the water...

Actually the Adreno 320 is on par with the Mali T604. The Adreno 320 is clocked at 400Mhz compared to 533Mhz on the T604. So if you clocked the Adreno 320 at 533Mhz is should be similar in performance or maybe better.
I don't think Rogue will demolish T604, yes iPad 4 does beat it but be in mind that the A6X actually is really 4 GPU's not like Mali T604 which is actually 4 'Cores' theres a difference (Mind my AMD GPU has 750 cores, what does that mean?) and the Mali T604 power consumption is way less than the A6X and you probably see it in future smartphones. The Rogue should be a competition for the Mali T658.
Released on 6th march 13 in india, this cheap tab, cost arround Rs 5990, approx $120 has good specs as far as performance is concern.
1.6Ghz dual core CPU, quad core mali 400 GPU, 1gb ddr3 ram, 8 gb internal memory, most probably using RK3066 chipset.
7" 480x800 display, capacitive 5 point multitouch screen, 4.1 jelly bean os etc.
Gonna buy this device expecting this device will support heavy 3D games, and more important xda shall play a good role to develop custom roms, kernal etc. for this device.
What y'all think?
im looking for a new android TV device to replace my wii i use now for streaming media (netflix, hulu, etc).. i want something that can run any android app, easily install third party applications, has enough performance to emulate N64 and PS1 games with the ability to stream PC and high level emulators from my gaming PC.. my router has gigabit LAN and N750 dual band
so my budget is about $75, within this budget i have been able to find the google nexus player using a quad core 64 bit 1.8ghz atom, 1 gig ram, and powervr 6 gpu, no ethernet, and 802.11AC wifi.. ive had issues with some android apps not working all that well on x86 architecture so im not sure if the atom will cause issues with some third party apps, and id like a device thats rooted/unlocked without breaking the warranty (ive had bad luck with low quality ASUS products, multiple ASUS devices failing)
another device i found is various "M8" devices which all seem to have the same specs, a cortex A9 quad core 2ghz processor, 8-core mali 450 GPU, 2 gigs of RAM, though seemingly only ABGN wifi and 10/100 ethernet.. so the downsides on this is the graphics arent as good, network isnt as good, but it does have more RAM and these devices seem to already support third party apps and being rooted
which of these options would be best for what i need it to do?.. and are there any other options i should consider?
You can try to find some solutions on Amazon or eBay, there are always so many good products on it. Besides, I know one brand named Loctek, you can search for that and maybe helpful.

well, if i want some emulator capabilities and game streaming, im probably going to want something capable of opengl ES 3, mali 450 no matter how many cores is only ES 2.0
browsing around on amazon a bit to see what i could find.. i found a few devices, all with 1.8ghz cortex A17 processors, 2 gigs of RAM, and mali T768 GPUs.. and they seem to also have gigabit LAN (since my box will be less than 3 feet from, or maybe even underneath my router, this is more important than fast wifi
so... nexus player with a 1.8ghz quad core 64 bit atom processor, 1 gig of RAM, powerVR 6 GPU, no ethernet
or... off-brand player with 1.7ghz quad core 32 bit cortex A17 CPU, 2 gigs of RAM, and mali T764 GPU and gigabit ethernet
