There seems to be a number of issues with 3rd party launchers with kitkat on this phone.

both are installed as system apps and I wonder if this is the cause of some of my force closes? Thanks to everyone who could help answer this
Maybe but when you are not using one you can freeze it using TB.

tried that. It still force closes when I try and change launcher setting
Hi, I'm new in this forum and also I'm a new android user. I got this phone yesterday and it came with the 4.1.2 update, it is working fine and all, but today something strange happened, my phone freezes up while I was watching a video, it rebooted itself and then, the camera app was gone, and the gallery app also seems to have disappeared, although they both appear on the settings/apps menu. I would like to know what can I do to solve this, please as I don't understand this system well.

Are you using a custom launcher? Most custom launches have the ability to hide apps in the app drawer. Check in the launcher settings for an unhide option.

Go to the app menu where you see the apps. Touch and hold your finger on the app for a second or 2 that you want back on one of your home pages. The home pages should show up and simply drag the app where ever you want it. Move your apps around like this and you can change the apps on the bar on the bottom of the screen the same way.

Thank you for the suggestion but it didn't work out. Unfortunately, I didn't had any other choice but to factory reset my device and now I have the camera back, but thank you for the fast answer!

Ever since upgrading to 4.3 on my nexus I've noticed this glitch when viewing the "bird's eye view" of all home screens on nova launcher (Seen in picture.)
Is this due to Nova having to update their application or is there a quick fix to this problem? (I've already tried clearing cache and data, didn't work.)

I had the same problem on my Nexus 4 after upgrading to 4.3. I installed the Nova Launcher beta 2.2

and is working fine now.
Isn't just that.
Widgets are failing to update and in some cases crash or go blank. In stock launcher its fine, in Nova it isn't.
Hello all, I'm new here - but have been reading these forums for a while. I have a Google Nexus 5 running Android 4.4.2. I would like to disable the launcher (Stock KitKat launcher) so that I can have only the Nova Launcher Premium. When I was running Android 4.4 this was easily done - I simply went to Settings-Apps-Launcher-Disable. This option is now grey and I am unable to select it. Any advise would be very welcome. Thank you.

Hit the home key, select Nova Launcher used always and restart the phone?
Thank you for your reply. I have selected Nova as my default home already but whenever I revert back to the stock launcher its full of app shortcuts and mess from installs and uninstalls which is annoying. I find every time I uninstall something I have to go back to stock to clean it up. That's why I liked the option to disable the launcher as I didn't have to bother with it.
