[Q] Real Racing 3 - HTC One Mini

Are you able to install games like Real Racing 3 or Asphalt 8 from Play store? It is saying the app is incompatible with your device / HTC One mini.
Anyone know why is it so?
Are the games working on your phones?

The same here. What could be it? Hardware or Android 4.2.2?
Gesendet von meinem HTC One mini mit Tapatalk

If you didn't get your update to 4.3 & Sense 5.5 yet, there is nothing you can do on stock software. There's something wrong with compatibility on 4.2.2 version of android for our Mini.
After update, games like GTA 3, GTA Vice City, Real Racing 3 and many others became compatible in my case.
Wait for OTA and it'll be fine then

Thanks for the redeeming Answer . No I still have no update of Android 4.3 (Telekom, Germany). They say it comes in a few days.

Quite strange. These games were also uncompatible on my mini but on 4.2.2.
After update to 4.3 almost all of the games are visible in play store.
Games I checked:
- GTA 3
- GTA Vice City
- N.O.V.A 3/4
- Real Racing 2/3
- GT Racing 2
- Asphalt 7/8
- NFS Most Wanted
- Assasins Creed Pirates
- Modern Combat 4
- Max payne
- Fast&Furious 6
I've installed 3 of them:

Is your phone fully stock/unrooted? I'm running a rooted stock rom of the 4.3 / sense 5.5 update and the play store won't let me install those games. I'm not sure if being rooted has anything to do with it though, and was just wondering if its only the official ota(unrooted) roms that work

Im on stock Vodafone branded Rom - no root. I recently updated it to 4.3 and I was actually surprised about games compatibility.

Hmmm. It seems like it'll only work on the stock. For me, the at&t version has everything except for gta sa that I know that isn't compatible. But I use the [email protected] apps, so I don't really care about that.

aww man. Is there any known fix to make the play store know that the games are compatible? I couldn't find anything in search bar.

FYI, incompatible or missing apps are most likely due to DPI config being collected by the store and then filtering is applied....
There is indeed a fix for this, generally for ROOTED devices (see below), but there are/were apps that can change DPI on your device (haven't checked recently, but I used one a couple of years ago and it worked, called LCD density modder I think....)

Hi, thanks for your help! I've read through the thread but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do. I'm assuming I'm supposed to use the DPI 320 patch but I don't understand how I use it. there are no download links and I can't download the Google Play 4.3.10 at the bottom of the first post. Thanks for any help
Also, I've just found that editing the build.prop file will work if you change the model and brand name. However I've left everything as is and changed the ro.product.model=HTC One Mini to ro.product.model=HTC One, but in device ID it still shows HTC One Mini.
I'm running the stock rooted android 4.3./sense 5.5 odex rom. Thankyou!

Since you're on 4.3, download this modded store, version 4.5.10 http://d-h.st/rYl
Flash from recovery, and you should be good.....
If that doesn't work as expected, try the work-a-round from MyLifeRocks10:
Follow these steps if you have problems like certain apps not showing up in Play Store(e.g. Facebook,Beautiful Widgets) or shows incompatiblity error.
1. Flash the zip file and reboot.
2. In Settings->Apps->All clear data of Play Store and Google Services Framework then reboot.
3. Open Play Store, if it gives error then clear data of Play Store and open Play Store again then hit accept.
4. If ur apps doesn't show up under installed apps in play store after installing this fix then reboot once and u should see it afterwards.
5. If above steps didn't fix ur issues then remove Google account, reboot and re-add ur Google Account.
If the above options don't work - you can use xposed installer and add the "All apps in Play Store" module....
Hit Thanks if I've helped!
Edit: just noticed you're on an odex ROM (do you prefer over deodexed? Odex causes issues with certain mods...) I can't confirm if the modded zip will work on odexed... maybe search the thread.....?

Thank! I had tried that method earlier but it didn't work however I wasn't sure why. I am using an odex rom simply because I saw people recommending it over the dexodex rom. I'm not actually sure what the difference is so I dont have any preference. Thanks for telling me that the odex rom should be avoided if modification are needed!
In the end I managed to change the build.prop successfully. Turns out you have to change ro.product.device=m4 to ro.product.device=m7! It was that simple! I was just changing some things to hopefully get it to work and it did. Hope this helps anyone else who always has my problem. All the apps I wanted now show up in the playstore and I can install them without any problems. This eliminates the need to mod the play store too, and im assuming future play store updates won't affect the build.prop and this method will continue to work.
Thanks to those who helped.
Hit thanks If i also helped

Many thanks the build.prop method worked for me and all my app like GTA are now available. Though asphalt 8 still won't download due to some error code..
I tried many Modded play stores and non worked. This has. Cheers!

reading that thread looks like the patch isn't "sticking" though.... they're doing it without the GSF patch and maybe that's the problem?

Thanks for taking a look at this issue. I have reviewed these changes and it makes sense why the "DPI Hacked" versions that I posted are not "sticking". The only problem I can see is that the version of GSF in this thread is not matching either the official "20110828" or the official "20120317" ICS version of Google Apps. When I compare GSF versions, I get a lot more changes than just seeing a one line difference in /GoogleServicesFramework/smali/com/google/android/gsf/checkin/CheckinRequestBuilder.smali. Can you tell me what version of GSF was used? It says 2.3.7, but its not the same as my version.
Also, all the changes made in your DPI modified version of Vending.apk seem ok, except, I'm not sure why there are changes to res/menu-v11/actions.xml and some of the other resource files. The "cleanest" way to package this is to copy the modified classes.dex into an unaltered version of Vending.apk. This way, apktool will not do anything funny to the resource files and doing a file comparison will not show a bunch of unwanted changes.
I would also like to mention that these files will not work for ICS or any DPI other than 240.
Attached are my logs of the file comparisons to the original versions. Thanks.
Is this one working with ics?
Got the .15 version working with 182DPI and it doesnt revert using density modder.
Tried some from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1580827
But does not stick.
Seems you also have to install the GSF for it to work.

I can confirm this as well on Nexus S (240dpi) with AOKP M5. I never use Talk on my phone though so for me it's an acceptable bug.

The GSF apk has "signature" protection enabled in it's AndroidManifest.xml. You could either change "signature" to "normal" so the protection is disabled, or you could resign the other apk's (such as talk.apk) so the signature matches. For example, if I modify GSF.apk and sign it with my "test key", then the signature protection within the apk will only trust apps that are signed with the "test key".
This doesn't seem to be working for me. I cleared Market data, copied both APKs and rebooted, and now I have the latest Play Store version but still I can't install a lot of apps -- mostly they don't even show up when I search on the phone.

Gameloft Games ~

I updated my OS version from 2.2.2 v10d to 2.3.5 v21e (april-10-2012)
and no data wiped after updating (i used LG's B2C for updating) and the problem is the games that was installed which is LetsGolf 2, Nova & Asphalt 6..
the SD Data is still there in INTERNAL but it is still asking for more files ..
any person who experience this after updating their respective phones?
any solution?
thanks in advance!
what do you mean by more files?
It's asking to download the game data again? If yes, just let it, they'll probably work again, at least they have in my O3D...
Every time I changed my ROM, my purchased and downloaded games from Gameloft started claiming they were illegal. Usually I would download them again from my account. But now, for some reason, my purchase history was erased from their site. Now, if I want to download again, I have to write them and inform my payment receipt along with all the other information they ask so they would send me a link to the game. This link works only once.

yes.. asking to download data again.. i know there's no problem with it.. but the problem is i dont have any wifi in our house and if i will use 3g to download a 400+mb files i dont know how long will it last )

its not a paid app .. those are the games that was pre-installed in our O3D..
Nova.. LetsGolf & Asphalt6 in 3D..
There are zip files you flash with cwm all over the forum search and you should find them

Ok, now I get it. But every time I changed ROMs, the same happened to me. Even when using official flashing tool, some games ask to download files again. Perhaps some portions of them are custom made for specific ROM versions, either for compatibility reasons or commercial reasons. For example, the game GT Racing Free is incompatible with Optimus 3D while the paid GT Racing 3D version is available. There just can't be a compatibility problem here.
By the way, after I changed the model of my phone (from 920H to 920 and back to 920H), my purchase history was wiped from their site. I don't know if this is the reason or a coincidence.

[Q] Custom ROM recognition in Google Play

Hi, I've installed the custom ROM Reaper and I'm very grateful to his author lowled (thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1433816). I post here because I don't have permission to post in this developer thread and because my problem could happen with other custom roms.
The problem is that when I try to install some applications from Google Play it says that my device it's not compatible, when I know that they are very compatible. I think that the application installation of these applications in Google Play doesn't recognize Reaper rom as a SO version allowed. I've done some research with google but I haven't found a trusful solution. I think maybe I should edit a system file but I don't want to make a mesh.
I've been downloading, from several websites, apks from problematic applications when I can find them, but I'm tired of this,
So I'd like you to help me to make Google Play install does applications I know that are compatible with my reaper ROM. Thanks in advance
I had been using CM7.2 stable which is GB 2.3.7 as well and there were a couple of times google play said certain apps were not compatible with my device when I knew that they had no problem running on DS.
one of those was Angry Birds Star Wars and I even wrote to Rovio. and their reply was along the line of : it was due to the size of the installation file and the cache space available on the device.
I later upgraded to JB and had no problem installing all these apps in google play that once gave me headache.
u could use market unlocker
Thanks

[Q] Getting all market apps to show up. Help please.

Okay so I've tried Googling this and posting this question in another thread but couldn't find/get an answer, so I thought I'd try to get help here. Awhile ago I installed either a 4.2 or 4.1 ROM (I can't remember), but whichever one it was, the market would show apps that weren't compatible with my 4.0 ROM. Such as GTA Vice City, The Sims 3, NBA 2K, etc. I then flashed back to a 4.0 ROM later on and those apps disappeared again. Now that I'm back on a 4.2 ROM, its not showing those apps. I was wondering what I can do to get those apps to show up again so I'm not forced to get the APK off the web. I know they're compatible with my phone because I've played those games before and they ran perfectly. Can anyone help?

Its not the same 4.2 ROM that I had before and the apps haven't been removed at all. This ROM uses vending.apk instead of phomesky.apk and maybe that's why? Not sure. Thanks for your suggestions though.

How to bypass error "This device is not compatible with your device" fix

This a a downloaded game Brothers In Arms 2 I got it from androidmob.org because 1 IT IS FREE ANYWAY here is proof:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gameloft.android.ANMP.GloftB2HM and 2 becuase I cant get it on the App Store for my device but I am getting a incompatible device error any fix for it?
Hey, your device being incompatible with the game was the reason you couldn't download it from Play in the first place. From what I know, most of the times it's either about the device's screen resolution or Android version. What device do you have and which version of Android does it run? BiA requires 2.3, so if your version is older, updating should help.
Oh, and btw. whenever you need a free app you can't download from Play for whatever reason, try googling "download apk google play" and use some online apk downloader - this way you're sure you're downloading the latest, legit version of the app.

No it did not work I was reading something about changing the device name in a config file or some crap like that how risky is that do you know. And is there something like a device emulator for android to trick the game into thinking it is on a compatible system?
