Hello guys
I have since 1 week a very weird problem my phone is very warm on the top of the phone and the battery just drains down I charge it in the night so my phone is 100% in the morning and when I get it out of my pocket after 1 hour 68% left and the top of the phone is just very hot
How can I solve this I don't have the time to bring it away because I need my phone for school and work
This problem started when I upgraded to 4.2.2 the Spanish one and I flashed back to 4.1.2 yesterday but the problem is still here
I also deleted everything on my phone wiped it nothing helps

I'm having the same problem, although phone is not getting any hot or anything like thath.
But battery is draining like hell. In a few second it will go from 15% to 0% and phone will shut down automatically.
Also when phone is fully charged it will drain battery pretty quick even with screen switched off and just music playing it will go dwon from 100 to 70 in one hour.
I've switched off all push email, facebook stuff etc. not usibg 3g much, got no clueue whats causing this to be honest.
Battery Callibration
hi,
I've had the same problem and I used this and it works
Download Battery Callibration in the Google Play Store.
You need root
Good luck
I will try the app

You don't need this app because li-ion accu calibrate it self when it is empty and you load it again.

You could try Greenify or Wakelock which will point you in the direction of what is using resources and to hibernate the offenders.
Quite useful apps.
I've tried greenify and it was causing more damage than good

I need a way to debug my phone and figure out what is causing such high CPU usage and poor battery life. After startup, my phone sticks at 100% until it freezes and restarts but sometimes I get lucky and it goes down a few percentages but freezes again when I start multi tasking a bit. I don't know what changed. Any app to debug or log what's going on?
Also my phone will read a low battery amount and when I restart, it jumps up 20-30 points

Search for better battery stats here on xda. That would be a good point to start... But dont put too much effort in breaking down what the issue might be, just go and buy an anker

Change governor if it's performance, to something else.
On what rom are you, what kernel, you need to tell everything.
ViperS Rom 1.3.14
3.4.10 SebastianFM 1.0.3

I've been using various apps (android system info, better battery stats, battery stats plus, watchdog) and I'm getting nothing. Nothing is hogging my cpu at all...
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
Install Wake Lock Detector to find out which process is hogging your CPU time.
From what I can tell, all the normal startup apps (mesages, facebook, widgets), are using full amount of CPU. All of them. The blue bars were full. That's for the few minutes after startup being 100% usage. Still investigating the random spikes that occurs while using my phone. It's a matter of being able to open and use this app as my phone becomes unresponsive
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
So I've been running apps and periodically monitoring my CPU. When it starts to get above 80% on both 0 and 1, I check what's up with wakelock detector and it doesn't even list the app I'm using when my cpu spikes like dolphin. It happens often with dolphin, tumblr, games. But they don't appear in wakelock.
The apps that do appear are barely doing anything
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using xda app-developers app
Maybe you'll also find the CPU Spy Reborn app useful to monitor CPU load over long periods of time
I found someone with a very similar problem, only it's happening even with mobile network disabled
http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-support-troubleshooting/203542-100-cpu-usage-but-doesnt-add-up.html
But how huge describes it is pretty much my problem except in addition I'm having the startup problem of CPU stuck on 100% until out freezes and restarts again

battery drain is a big issue with me as well
Yeah. I reinstalled my rom after a full wipe. Looks like it cleaned my CPU problem. But my battery life is still only 4 hours. My screen being the biggest drain according to all these apps.

What's your battery ?
4 hours is very low. Maybe you need new battery..
And which rom exactly do you use ?
I used Inspiration 1.0.1 for a log time and i had the best battery life on this rom. it works fine with lower CPU/GPU frequency. Vipers 5.0.0 also seems to have nice battery life (i'm on it now).

My battery life is 5 hours when I was using ViperS 3.1.2
Now I update it to ViperS 5.0, battery can use 6~7 hours, so cool !!
Etc. Where it's 5.0? This always happens to me with vipers Rom. I always find at that there is a new thread for a newer version from someone else

Did you do anything with your phone? New ROM perhaps? Try rebooting and let all the system processes and apps start up again and see if the problem persists. There also might be a rogue app, so watch out for that.

I would not complicate and do a fabrication reset to see if it this fixed (previously doing a backup)
I completely wiped my phone. .even many times factory reset

Hello!
I think that this might help you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/tut-disable-fast-dormancy-battery-life-t2348597
That was the cause of battery drain on my Xperia L, some months ago, and when i disabled fast dormancy, the drain stopped.
You will need to have your phone rooted and buxybox installed.
Yep same here, phone app drain, since new firmware (15.3.A.1.17)
Fixed with above solution, with this rootkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/root-firmware-15-3-1-12-t2591290
Check which App is drawing battery uaing better battery statistics and look for any app causing wake issues! Disable them and things would improve !

If you're rooted, you can use Greenify to hibernate apps that you want accessible, but not necessarily running in the background.
Samsung's TouchWiz is a heavy ROM, and there's probably a lot of features that are running that you don't use. Turn them off in settings, hibernate them with Greenify, or disable them entirely in your app manager.
Other than that, just leave it be. Apps that you use frequently you want to keep running in the background, and yes, taking up RAM. This way they quickly load. Apps running in the background don't drain your battery significantly, but loading them up every time you want to use them because you've killed them with a task manager does.
Don't obsess over RAM usage. RAM is there to be used.
thanks sir ..
