It will work, but, both phones will have the same IMEI #. That's the reason why no one will share their efs folder (files).

The best way for you guys is to send your phones to the service centers, so they can restore your own original imei numbers.
IF There is a Samsung Service Center In My City
That's Mean I Shouldnt Make This Thread Here ... I Made This Theard To Find A Solution
Anyway Thanks
Somebody Help Meeeee
Fix all 0s imei
My device ( Note 3 N900 ) was showing all 0s Imei after i replaced motherboard. So to fix it I rooted my device, go to root, delete the efs folder and reboot. After the reboot you will see a msg restoring settings.... thats how I got the imei back. Please try it at your own risk.
My imei no got lost while restoring backup using cwm..... i looked around the forum and the ".nv_data" method will not do because my efs folder has a file named "essiv" only and nothing else.....
if someone would confirm what files are contained in thier efs folder and mail it to me also i'll be grateful......
I don't think the 'efs folder' of one device can be used with other devices as it contains the device's IMEI number.
Could you elaborate a bit as to what did you do that resulted in the loss of your IMEI number ? It would help others avoid it in future.
Well.... i restored the same backup file couple of times 'coz i was trying to flash a new theme...btw i am on stock indian 2.3.5......
the files in efs folder can be edited using hex editor (read somewhere in the s2 forum...i don't remeber which thread) so the imei no. in that file can be modified...
Hi,
I have a Google Nexus S (Model-GT-I9020T made by Samsung). I flashed it with CyanogenMod and messed up my IMEI number. It now shows a generic number. I am from India and I can't connect to my carrier now. I have searched for days and at the end I feel that ODIA can help me to restore my IMEI.
I have restored my phone to Android version 2.3.6, Build Number GRK39K. The phone has CWM recovery, rooted and Root Explorer and Terminal Emulator installed. My EFS folder has nv_data.bin nv_data.bin.md5. But imei folder has only one file .nvmac.info.
Root folder is empty and I also don't have any folder called factory. Can you, please, please help me restore my IMEI number to whatever number is written under the battery?
Thank you,
India.
I've tried to restore the EFS of my girlfriend's phone. Time ago, i've made a backup of efs folder by tar command. I've a file called efs-backup.tar.gz. The problem is that when i flash blank file EFS with odin to restore EFS partition and i copy all file in my efs folder with tar command (removing md5 file) the smartphone shows me that it hasn't an IMEI or a baseband. The phone shows only the row IMEI with no number and no null string. I've found this thread http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f634/riff-jtag-how-repair-samsung-baseband-imei-2-a-1661209/ when users says that I need a JTAG RIFF box to restore with the files in the thread. Anyone knows an other solution? I've tried also with my i9003 efs with no success.
thank you in advance for help.
Try convert you tar.gz backup to odin flashable tar, than flash with odin3 ver 1.85 in pda

How can I do it? Thank you for answering.
Hi guys!
I accidentaly deleted the whole efs folder, and now my imei is 0000... .
So is it possible to fix it without having any backup of efs?? I tried to use qpst too, but qpst is not recognizing my phone so I was unable to fix it. Is it even possible to use qpst on s2plus??
QPST, would not works..its for qualcomm, as our devices has broadcom..try flashing it to stock
