[Q] Wacom tablet - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can I use my Wacom graphic tablet as a mouse on my Nexus 5?
I found some videos where people just plugged their tablets into a Nexus 7 what automaticly worked without extra software. So is it possible to do this with my (rooted) N5 too or do I need drivers?
Thanks ;3

There are no drivers installable drivers for human input devices. Just plug it in and see if it works. If it works on 7 it probably works on 5

I won't work :/
Is it impossible to fix this?

No idea. It either uses generic drivers or it doesn't

[Q] Franco kernel vibration damage?

hey there,
i just installed the franco kernel and i've noticed that the vibration has been set to 100 instead of 63, nothing wrong with it.
but here is the main question: can this damage the device after long term of use?
(i could not post this in the official post from the kernel because i am a new member to this)
your sincerely,
Acelius
Its just a motor but I suppose technically it could wear out faster but I wouldn't expect to see that within the lifetime of the device

hmh, if it doesn't die in the next 2 years i would be happy, but there's only one way to find out. And otherwise i could replace the motor right? (newb questions approaching...)

Sure you could, assuming you could find the right part. This phone is easy to take apart and fix.

[Q] Issue with headphones sound

I have this nexus for a week or so and I have an issue with my inear headphones.
Yesterday it worked well, but today all of the sudden the right earbud sound is much weaker than the right one.
I've tried using another headphones but the left side is significantly louder.
I didn't install any special apps...and even tried a factory reset but nothing helps. What should I do?
Check the headphone socket for fluff. Blow in it, it sounds like a connection issue

[Q] Will be there any fix for the microphone noise?

Hey guys!
Today I made some videos and when I watched them, there was a noise during the video. However there was almost complete silence while I was recording. I looked up on the internet and I found this and this video. I have the same problem.
I've read under the video and on many different forums that it is a common problem, but it is not present for everyone...
Will we get fix for it or should I replace my phone? Also during phone calls people say that they cannot hear me well and they say that there is a background noise while I am sitting in silence.
I bought the phone in Switzerland through an acquaintance, but I live in Hungary so it would be a very long process...
Or is there any fix?
Who else has this issue?
Thanks.
It seems its a software issue (some say the noise cancellation algorithm) so returning it wont help unless you're getting a different phone.
No fix as yet

Are there many people around here who are facing this issue too?
I'm facing it and I know one other, @hullbay - but I've not looked into it as much to be honest.
I think some have it and just don't notice as uploaded videos with the problem, some just cant hear

What do you think? Will Google fix this or we have to wait for somebody here on xda to invent something new to fix it?
I would be guessing if I answered. Im happy either way

But can others notice this while talking on the phone or is it easy to notice it on videos that you recorded?
Because on my phone this noise is not that quiet, its very easy to notice.
BTW let me ask one more question. Is it okay if my CPU temperature during gaming is about 75-80°C?
Its quite warm on the back. Is it ok?

I don't speak on the phone much so no one complained. I tested voice record apps though and same problem.
Although I have no snapdragon 800 information specifically, it is generally accepted that the maximum safe temperature for 28nm CPU's is 95 degrees C. Take that with a pinch of salt though because that's a general rule, not explicitly our CPU

So I shouldn't be worrying with the 80°C max CPU temperature because its normal?
No, although stock kernel throttles at 65-70..

But its 80°C with stock and with franco kernel too... Is it still okay?
80 is 80. I've increased my frequency and core throttling from 65 and 70 to 80 and 85....
But I dont understand why yours is 80 as stock is 65 and 70. Perhaps its how its being read surrounding the cpu

From what I've been able to research, it supposedly has to do with the noise cancellation algorithm, which may or may not be addressed in the next firmware update. Google Reps have confirmed they are aware of the issue, although a solution has not been announced.

I'd like to let you know that we are continuing to investigate this, and we appreciate the data this community has helped us collect. Note that any potential software improvements to this behavior will have to be included in a future Android release.
(I'm going to mark this post a an answer to this question. Please don't take that as a sign that Google considers this issue fully resolved. Rather, it's the best way for this forum system to display an important update at the beginning of a thread, and I want to help ensure that any newcomers to this discussion see the latest update from me.)

That is what I cant understand too, because others say that their CPU temp is around 60 when gaming, while mine is hotter...:crying:

Available storage on 32GB model?

I just got my nexus 5, Absolutely love it Only thing which is bothering me is I'm getting 26.2 gb available memory which doesn't make no sense. That's 6 gb less that 32gb -_- is this normal or not? If not what steps shall can I do to recover rest of memory..
Hi,
It's absolutely normal and it's the same thing for all... Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2508292 (at the middle it's explained).
It depends of your data (apps, etc...), so nothing abnormal...

It's nothing to do with formatting. Its just maths as explained later in in the link I provided.

yea, i was going to edit my post to add the math part but i saw others posted that info. I never liked the way hard drives are advertised. confuses people who don't know the math part.
Its just another way to sell less for more.
Its like selling a 200mph supercar, but 1 mile = 1200 metres.
I'd rather buy a 931 GB hdd than a "1 TB" hdd.
Then again.... its really 931 GiB vs 1 TB cause the feckers stole the name too
