Hey all, I was just wondering if it's possible to remove the in-app menu button, which is usually on the upper right corner. It's really frustating, at least for me, since I use the nav bar button. I'll attach screenshot .
Thanks in advanced.

That has been removed. The menu button will appear only if necessary and needed by the app itself. If you don't seem to find the menu button, it might be embedded in the app itself. The menu button on the navigation bar will appear at the left-most corner. A 3 horizontal line with a small triangle.
So it seems like..it has already been removed..and also the screen grab shortcut aswell hmmm anyways thanks for the input though

Any idea how to flip the multitask and back buttons ? Isn't it weird that the back button is now on the right ? Why would Samsung do that ?
My menu button on GT-6210 hardly ever shows up no matter which app I'm using & it's totally random when it decides to show back up (using stock honeycomb.) I got so annoyed by not having it when I needed it so I bought an app called called button survivor from the market. I think it needs root permission but now I can use that to open the menu whenever I need it.

So did they remove quick launch options in the display settings removed on jellybean?
Settings/display/quick launch
I don't have jellybean so I can't check but if they they removed the quick launch option & removed the screenshot shortcut that is very disappointing and makes no sense at all.

One thing that I am finding annoying in Kitkat is that the left most screen (other than Google Now) is the default screen after pressing the home button. I'd prefer that I could choose which screen the home button takes me to. Is there a setting for this that I am misssing?
Thanks
Yes you're missing everything about android, this isn't ios of course you can change whichever home screen you want. When you're on your home screen press the 'Home screen button' again and then press the small + sign the upper right corner, there you can add or delete and rearrange your screens and the one with the green check mark is your default main home screen.

That worked on 4.3, but it doesn't seem to work on 4.4. The default home screen (i.e. where the home button takes you) is always the "left-most" screen (other than google now) and you have to scroll right to get to the other screens.

Not being able to choose the default screen bugged me for a total of 1 day and now I don't care anymore.

you can drag and rearrange the screens to pick a new home
While it looks like there is no way to set which screen is the home screen - probably because of google now being the leftmost screen - you CAN change the order of the screens by long-pressing and then dragging them to rearrange. Whichever one is left-most becomes the default "home screen". when you hit the home icon.
Hey all ,
Just wanted to ask a quick question, I just installed nova launcher on my nexus 5 and there is an option to remove the dock (menu, phone ect..)and oly the home button back and task manager are left at the bottom of the screen. Is there a way to add to the stock buttons e.g. If i want an menu button inbetween the 3 other buttons. I have seen it before but dont really know how to do it. http://tapatalk.com/tapatalk_image....vZC8xNC8wMS8xNi9vcmlnaW5hbC9lOWVydWh1ai5qcGc= Just the bottom bit.
Thx for the help
I use apex and just use gestures like swipe down to hide dock and swipe up to view dock....probably same on nova.
Edit might have miss read your question.

I'm using an app called soft keyz, you have to pay but it's alright and it has those ps looking ones.

Hi, i have a question about menu button (three dots) in apps.
Is there a way to force it to show up while using hardware buttons?
I know that it shows up when using soft keys, but I want to take advantage of that additional pixels and also not use long press action on hardware keys. I've been trying to find a way but with no luck.
no you can't because in some apps the three dots come in the nav bar
Check xposed modules I think there is one for that

I liked how it used to be by pressing and holding the back button to bring up the multi window side panel. I can't seem to find anyway to bring it up. Please don't tell me using the recents button is the only way. I liked how on the note 4 you could just press one of the multi window apps and it would open up as a pop up.

Never understood why Samsung still restricts certain apps from being used in multi windows. Back in the days, I would have to root to be able to use whatever app for MW.
With the app open, I just swipe from the very top left corner to the middle and it opens up pop up.
I haven't seen any other way to get the actual split screen though

You can open multi window three ways.
First you need to have a multi-window / split screen
compatible app open then swipe:
#1: recents long press (split screen)
#2: diagonally top left towards right bottom of screen
#3: diagonally top right towards the left bottom of screen
Good luck,
Have a great day!
