Traveltek m9703-20131030 Rooting - General Questions and Answers

I just got a "travelTek M9703" Android tablet running Android 4.2.2.
I know it's an off brand tablet, but it was in my price range, and it's a pretty powerful little unit, but I would like to root it. I tried searching on how to root it, but google turned up no results.
So i'm asking you all if any of you know how I would go about rooting this device.
Thanks!

[Q] April 2013 Nextbook 8 SE with Amlogic Meson 6 and Jellybean

Hi,
I just acquired a Nextbook 8 SE with a manufacturing date of April 2013. It has Jellybean installed, HDMI out, and also Google Play.
There have apparently been several iterations of hardware under this same model number missing some or all of the above.
Nothing I have tried has been successful at rooting this device, including the Italian Fix, all the stuff here and at FreakTab, or Crystal Root which is the only thing I've found here that specifically calls out this processor and OS mix.
Yifang or whoever actually made this unit is doing something interesting with the signing keys, because pretty much anything I've tried via <3e> has failed verification.
I know that since this unit is only a month old and not popular that there probably hasn't been a lot of interest or work done on it, but I'd really like to root it in order to get rid of some things and change some other things.
Thanks in advance!

I'm with you on rooting this thing, i have scoured the internet for days trying to find information on rooting this device. I have the Nextbook Premium 8HD sells for 99 dollars USD at walmart. the chinese workaround doesnt work this devices either. *Edit* Also it has the AML8276-M6 chip and like i said earlier NOTHING in the same tablet family with the same chipset works for root with this device.

We're going to have to go back to Walmart and buy some of these as gifts to hand around to the cool kids here in the hopes one of them breaks into it.
packaging was misleading as well, I read the barcode at walmart and it said "Google Play nextbook" and noticed the likewise of the Nexus font on the packaging. It wasn't until i got it home and inspected the box just to find the "efun" logo discreetly on the side. I am still very impressed with the packaging though, for 99 dollars the quality of the packaging was very good. The LCD screen is something that is less desirable but its not the kind of screen i would expect to have like my galaxy Tab 10.1. Overall i am happy with it but i still need root to hide its manufacture id on google play. I am unable to download most of my apps as they keep saying they are not supported.
Here ya go
I performed this process today and can confirm it works on Nextbook 8 HD. This not for Nextbook 7 or 8 SE/Premium or any other Nextbooks...

Hi,
I have also the Nextbook Premium 8SE bought last year and have ICS installed. It's not that good as expected. I asked at Nextbook support they told me that JB is not in plans for Premium 8SE.
I've tried to get those 4.1.1 custom roms, but I cannot even install the drivers, the tablet won't even connect in flash mode with UP+DOWN buttons pressed while plugging the usb cable.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
How to root Nextbook Premium SE
Hey! I have a Next book Premium SE. I tried everything to root this crazy thing, and finally I was able to do so with a free application called kingo android root and a Windows computer. It wasn't listed in their supported devices, but it worked. You can Google it for more info. It only took about 5 minutes after I found that application. Now I am working on finding a successful ROM for this obscure tablet.

[Q] android noob please help

okay so here's the deal. I recently bought an off-brand tablet that i have never heard of, it is a maxwest 7370 tablet. I have a joke about it i call it a samsing lol. It seems like a good deal, it came with a 7" screen, 1.2 gigahertz dual core ,800 some odd mb of RAM, 8 gigs of storage, HDMI output, microSD slot, and Flash support, it runs on jelly bean 4.2.2 It was only one hundred and seventy dollars. And I'm happy with it so far but on the other hand I have had no success even finding this model of tablet on the Internet. Today I attempted several times at rooting this device with no success. I use software downloaded on my laptop one called kingo root the other was one click rooting. the only thing I was planning on using the rooted tablet for was supporting interface with my playstation 3 sixaxis controller. If anyone can help me figure out how to root this or just pairing my controller it would be greatly appreciated. I don't know much of anything about Android or rooting them but I would love to unlock more potential out of this thing! I use it mostly for fun but maybe some listening and learning will allow me to do much more.

I cannot believe i am the only one with a fusion5 108 octacore 10.6 tablet with android 6.0.1 and it cannot be jailbroken, guess it cannot be done.
I have 2 of them, but not a developer and have no idea how to root them. Would love to see someone more skilled than me crack the code.

I have one too, bought it for the screen size but it would be nice to root it. Looks like no developers are interested in rooting it ........guess there is not enough demand for it.

I actually just bought 2 more for my kids, they're great tablets given the price point! They primarily use them for Netflix, so while I love having root access to my hardware, many apps including Netflix don't work with root anymore and I don't have time to tinker with stuff to get around the crippling these companies do to their apps. Heck, I tried to use a whole house VPN solution recently only to have the kids screaming that their Netflix wasn't working. Seems Netflix has a problem with me securing my data and privacy too
7I too have been searching all websites forums.... And used all the tools I've heard of to no avail (vroot, iroot, kingroot, kingoroot etc... You name it).
Nothing I have used has worked and I'd be very grateful if someone would be able to root this Device.
Thank you

Most 'Rootable' Phone?

I am in need of a new phone and I am looking for suggestions for something that should be easily rootable?
Any device that using Android 5.0 and below and you just need Kingroot to root it easily.
I am no expert on Android but considering Android 5 came out in 2014 and we are now on Android 7 is it realistic to expect to find a new phone running Android 5?
Can you think of any?
Usually cheap chinese phones that are available on the market like Lenovo, Leagoo or etc. and some retailers still selling old Android models mostly from KitKat and Lollipop ones.
So unlikely for any phone that most people would be looking for. Also Kingroot is full of spyware/adware and hardly a good route to be considering in any case.
If not preferring Kingroot, you might want to find some devices that are using Snapdragon chipset, which are pretty easy to install most of custom roms. recoveries and etc. but requires a little bit higher than average android usage skills. Any device is using Android Marshmallow and above would require to use TWRP or similar custom recoveries to root the device, that's the only way to do it.
It sounds reasonable but my current Experia Z3 rooting attempt fell at the first hurdle because the bootloader unlocking option says 'NO'!
So the detail of the process is critical and general simplified methods are often far from it. Hence being very clear on the rooting method is more important than the phone spec.
I wasnt expecting simple answers here just methods of narrowing down the choices, so all information is helpful.
But it does seem I have to start from the exact phone and try to work backwards to find out rootability as I have no experience to draw on.
Anyone rooted a phone recently?
Well rooting Samsung phones with odin(flashing twrp from odin) is the simplest way in todays date.
