TheftAlarm
Version: 1.8(Last free: 1.7)
Last update: 06.03.2011
Interface languages: English, Russian
Description:
The program is designed to help you to find phone if it is stolen or lost.
This works like this:
In the program settings you add allowed SIM card and phone numbers to send SMS messages.
After the boot program reads the IMSI number of the current SIM card.
If the IMSI is in a list of allowed, it displays a notification that the SIM is checked and the program ends.
If the current IMSI is not in the list of allowed, then program send an SMS messages to configured in the settings telephone numbers.
If for some reason the message is not sent (there is no network signal, enabled airplane mode, etc.), the program attempts to send it again after 10 seconds and it will be repeated before the SMS is not sent.
Thus in case of missing device can learn the phone number, which is using your phone.
Among other programs TheftAlarm distinguished by the fact that it is simple, does not have any (possibly unnecessary) functions.
ChangeLog:
v1.1
- Added code for killing self. After notification program killing self process after 10 seconds (notice disappears).
- The program also kills self process when you enter the wrong password and when you click "back".
- Fixed a reaction to the program for IMSI = null. Now the program works correctly, if the airplane mode enabled, there is no SIM card or other network errors.
- Translated the string "SIM check OK" on Russian
v1.2
- Added Greek translation (thanks to dancer_69)
- Small layout optimizations
v1.3
- Created apk with those languages: Russian, Croatian, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish. Thanks to authors.
v1.4
- Now, if app can't read IMSI on system boot
(if airplane mode on, waiting for PIN/PUK input or another reason), then app will do it every 10 seconds.
- Added additional info in alert sms: IMSI and IMEI.
- Sorry, but in this version and higher app will include english and russian translations only. It is hard for me to create many packages for one release, but including all languages in one apk - increase apk size. I think you understand me. This is simple app. Everyone can use my app in english.
v1.5
- SMS text changed: "Phone is turned on. Unknown SIM inserted". In Russian version: "Вставлена чужая SIM"
v1.6
- Now, notification "SIM check OK" disappears after 10 sec on Android 2.2
- Small code optimizations
v1.7
- Fixed issues when running on Android 1.5. Program works on all versions of Android now.
- Sms sending code optimized.
v1.8
- Possibility to send coordinates, which determined using network cell stations (not GPS, For Russia and CIS countries only yet);
- Intellectual alarm SMS sending system;
- Black background on "enter password" screen;
- Storing password in md5 encryption;
- Small Interface changes.
This Pro version of program not works(soon) on Android 1.5, sorry.

Nice app.
Would it be possible to add the IMSI number of the "stealers" SIM card to the SMS message? Cause receiving "Alert messsage" text is kinda useless.
Thanks.
Very nice app. Thanks so much.
Here Spanish translation.
Thanks and here is the croatian translation!
I'm making a french translation, but can you say me : When "alarm stand by" is checked, is the app active, or not?
Anyway, there is the french translation (I translated "Alarm stand by" by "Alarme en pause", which is as much ambiguous than the original) No offense
Here's the italian translation
Since this relies on SIM cards not matching I'm assuming tihs is GSM only and not CDMA as CDMA doesn't use SIM cards.

It reads out the the ID of your SIM-Card and checks that against the instlled one so far.
My HTC Desire is configured to use HSPA (so WCDMA) only and it still shows and uses the correct IMSI.
Edit
@author: Do you mind adding a (a)gps support (or is it already added?), so it also sends the location of the phone? And maybe a response to a caller who sends an sms with location etc (received msg has to be hidden of course) with a special key-word?
Cool app. Gonna try it. In the meantime here is the Danish translation.

“Speak Anything” is a useful tool for "translate & speak". The most interesting feature is that it can help you to translate or read a text without out of web or Ebook. With this small and fast on your Android phone you can improve your skills anytime, anywhere.
Main features:
- Speak copied text in chosen language.
- Supports 5 languages: English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
- Translates into more than 90 languages
- Manages copied text: you can change and save already copied text
Why use “Speak Anything” ?
- No need to quit your currently running application, just select the desired text and click on copy. The application will automatically pop up and then you can use it to speak or translate text.
- Perfect intonation.
- Beautiful, very simple and easy to use
Download: Search in Market with keywords "Speaklip".
Good afternoon. I would like to present the official Radar Beep app.
It was launched today on Google Play.
The way the app works is simple:
- Install the app via Google Play, select the country, and that's it. It warns you of the nearest radars, and you don't need to worry about updating the radars, as it updates automatically to always have the latest database.
- It also warns us when we are going past the radar so we can keep to the desired speed.
The main screen has two buttons:
- Spanner: Preferences
- Green ON button and red OFF button: this changes when we touch it, turning detection on or off.
It can integrate with all GPS navigation apps, as the detection dialog pops up over the navigator. You can hide it with a single touch.
It has a directional map system - in other words, it always shows you the map in the direction you're going, as well as flagging all the radar guns.
We have a Widget for turning detection on without having to open the app, and it can also turn on automatically when you turn on your Bluetooth hands-free system, turning off when you turn off the car.
And finally, we have a Radar Beep NFC sticker which can turn the app on when the phone gets near it.
The app is free and ad-supported. You can pay to get rid of the ads, but if not, the app is fully functional with a little advertising so we can maintain the service.
The app is available in:
Spanish, English, German, French, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Hindi, Italian, Romanian, Polish and Arabic.
There are some screenshots below so you can check it out.
Best regards,
Juan

Nice app but it have 2 questions:
1- The radar database will update forever?
2-How can i do to run it in background?
Thanks!
Regards
re
If radar alone are updated.
To use it in the background gives the home button and that's it
The Samsung keyboard app comes preloaded with the input language of the phone's region (let's say Korean). Of course you can add other input languages and the keyboard app will remember the last language you used for normal text inputs. However, that's not the case for password fields - there, it always defaults to the preloaded language and does not remember your recent language selection (that means you can change the input language in a password field, but next time it will be the preloaded language again).
The only way to change it is to disable the preloaded language (removing it is not possible), then it seems to default to the earliest (not disabled) installed language, and still doesn't remember a different language selection. I don't know if that's just a bug or if there's some hidden setting for this. Since it chooses the earliest installed language, is there a way to change the language list hierarchy somewhere in the settings/properties? That would at least allow me to set the default password field language to the most convenient one, even if it still doesn't remember the last used language.
This issue is not device specific because it affects the Samsung keyboard app (on the recent Android versions) and how it handles password fields. Is there a possible workaround?
