Teamgee Super8 E1 Stock ROM Rooting - Android General

The time has come to start separating the various Exynos 5410 devices that are appearing on the market. This thread has been created to cater for the users of the Teamgee Super8 E1, so we can keep up to date with firmware development, share our experiences, our customisations and rooted roms.
The link below will be updated to take you to latest rooted firmware posting on release ::
Latest Rooted Rom
Please remember to give thanks to anyone who helps... a pat on the back goes a long way :highfive:

Rooted Super8 Rom 20131112
Have added a few tweaks into the build.prop which may help, and have put the TeamGee boot animation back.
Have also added the lockscreen rotation override to prop, as this is something TeamGee have not fixed themselves.
After update from Play Store Google+ will behave.
Download Rooted Rom here::
TG-E1_Rooted_20131127.7z
Reminder on how to install:
1) Extract all files to the root of your SD-Card.
2) Backup all your files with any backup software (so after the installation you can restore them).
3) Insert your SD-Card into your device.
4) With the volume "-" pressed, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
5) The installation will start automatically. Sit back and wait until it is finished.
6) Device will then reboot and you are ready to restore your apps,contacts,photos,videos,etc...
WARNING: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR DEVICE BRICKS. ALL I DID WAS JUST PRE-ROOT THE OFFICIAL ROM FROM TEAMGEE! YOU ARE USING THIS ROM AT YOUR OWN RISK!
cheers @datagr for install notes and warning
with thanks to @diquan2001 for having a dialogue with the Teamgee developers

ROOTED TG_S8_E1 build dated 20131122
I'm pretty happy with the previous Firmware, so have not tested this myself..
Lockscreen rotation override added to prop.
various prop tweaks, which may help with power consumption, wifi and 3g performance.
Have also removed various bloat-ware from the rom.
Download Rooted Rom here::

Better Rom
Hello. If you compere which is better "Rooted Super8 Rom 20131112" or "ROOTED TG_S8_E1 build dated 20131122". Regards :laugh:

Hi KEgg1, Thanks for this new thread , and your effort

I saw on another site that there is a new firmware release. But has anyone compared this tablet with the other one called the tomato?

Kernel Develop
Dear all:
We need the source code to develop the kernel. And according to the GPL ,the kernel should be open-source. Can anybody contact the factory to ask for the source code? I found that TG Super 8 is designed by "UrBetter".

I think that problem has to do with your Ip range .BBC can see that you are not in the UK thru your ip adres .
Maybe you can try to use tunnelbear to download the iplayer app .
But you might still have the problem of viewing the programs while your not in the UK.
Tunnelbear will change your IP to UK based range i think .
Here is the Link .

Hi, i have the e1 super8. Bad connection to 3G, only connects in EDGE mode and too too slow. Any ideas? firmware 20131122. Argentina, Claro carrier.

Teamgee adventure ended
Hello friends ,
I have sold my Super8 Tablet .
I was just not seeing any improvements coming from the last ROMS we received from TeamGee.
The poor batterylife of the Tablet was just not acceptable for me .
So that's why i sold it .
I also tried to contact the TeamGee Team for the last 2 weeks sending mails almost every other day.
They just don't answer me anymore .
So with that im sorry to say i will not be providing you guys here with new ROMS anymore.
My TeamGee Super8 adventure has ended .
Regards
Diquan.

that is wright, teamgee support area never respond... I sent them several emails too...

Hello to all,
I've also followed suit, and with a big sigh, have also parted with my Super8 in the last couple of days for the same reasons as Diquan as well as not having enough time any more to devote to it.
This little tablet could really be brilliant, it is one of the smoothest I have used, but also the most battery hungry I have had.
There's a something I've been meaning to do for the users of this thread before going, so look out for a tutorial, in the next week, on how to decompile/recompile the system image so you can continue to create updated rooted firmware to share.
I've learnt quite a few lessons from doing this..
cheers to all, and may 2014 bring better things for the Super8 users
KEgg

does anybody connected this tablet to 3G? i can not do it, only connects in 2G (EDGE), tried all the configurations and Personal and Claro carriers (argentina 850/1900MHZ). Never connects to 3G

Any update??

Pipo U2 English ROM

English ROM supplied from Pipo for the U2.
Differences in the standard ROM, 70mb smaller with all Chinese apps removed from factory and defaults to English.
The build date is later than the latest available from the Pipo website and seems to have better wifi coverage...
Sorry, had to upload in two parts due to the size.
Link for flash tool: http://www.mediafire.com/?5rzsadl7tmhg1d1
Part 1 of rom http://www.mediafire.com/?145py7tcdmuu5aq
Part 2 of rom http://www.mediafire.com/?1m7nzmzda9vukah
Root method: CWM and Superuser http://www.mediafire.com/?0g1tc07kx0tu482
Root English U2 firmware
Use ZhuoDaShi-2.2.9 (Chinese application) http://www.mediafire.com/?mddj3wn8z2rcb1u or flashable zip as described above...
Thank You very much for the provided image razmattaz!
If I may ask... where did You get a later build number than the one provided my Pipo on their website.
We are discussing the Pipo wifi coverage over at slatedroid.
I for one have abysmal coverage only 15 feet and a wooden room door away from my AP.
While my mobile phone is still showing me 6-7 APs in my vicinity, the Pipo U2 won't find more than my own and hardly establish a reliable connection with it.
Do You have the feeling the reception really improved after using Your rom since yesterday?
(Sorry for my english btw...)
Regards & thanks,
Yoko

Your welcome!
This English rom came from Pipo and though they tell me it is the same as the Chinese firmware minus the Chinese bloatware etc I am constantly receiving atleast 1 bar higher signal and the connection is not dropping as it previously had done
Just added files for CWM and flashable SU script that will give root access without the need to install ZhuoDaShi which is in Chinese

CWM & Root will not.

THL W100 Custom Rom Development

There has been a lot of unpleasantness within the small community of THL W100 owners in the past couple of days which have ended with the closing of a few threads, which I find quite disappointing, as there was a lot of good information in them, and some useful links, most importantly for me, a link to a download of the THL W100 stock rom, which I have only just realised I do not possess any more. If anyone has this on their computer, please, please upload it so we all can benefit.
I'm planning on starting a custom rom for the THL w100, but I can't start it without the stock rom. I have access to the ThL.W100.130701.JBV2.HD.EN.COM.8P32_MT6589 ROM, but I am looking for the first hardware revision's stock ROM.
Things I am planning on doing to the rom include
Stock AOSP Lockscreen
Screenshot in power menu
Dictionary fix
Optional resizing of "internal SD card" into phone storage
Hopefully a camera fix for the newer hardware
Easy GPS.conf
Some minor speed tweaking
Integration with the amazing GravityBox
No Bloat!
That was the majority of my ideas I believe, I wrote them previously in a thread which ended up being deleted unfortunately.
Please note that I do not care about donations, and I am most certainly NOT trying to rip off or steal from any other THL W100 custom ROM developers.
Hopefully the THL W100 users can find this thread and assist on my search, and together we can build a great custom ROM for the THL W100, a very deserving phone!
awesome, what has happened? admins delete all the thread? omg and all our post and aditional info too?
what happened to roeddie, phenomenal xp?, i came too late maybe
omg, thx for trying to help us WeekendWarrior

Any known ways to root THL with new software 130701?
Anyone know from which camera firmware change? I think it is from 07/01/13 and there is a previous firmware ThL.W100.130627.JBV2.HD.EN.COM.8P32_MT6589 that works for the first W100 THL.

one guy called Teddyking say this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2325150&page=36 DELETED POST)
"Successfully root w100 with 130701 firmware
RO.EDi Fusion 1.0 + camera patch is NOT work for me.
Rear cam is still missing.
Anyway, some Thai guy can successfully root w100 with 130701 firmware.
Here is how i did. (tested, work !)
- Back up and make sure that you can accept the risk of brick you phone. This is from trials and errors, guru please suggest if there is anything wrong with this method.
- Download UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.41.zip from http://download.chainfire.eu/339/Sup...erSU-v1.41.zip
copy to the root of your microSD. (without zip extraction)
- Install official firmware 130701 from needrom
- Install CWM recovery, i used previous version of RO.EDi, v6.0.3.2, installed with SP Tool.
*** I used scatter-loading file that come with 130701
*** I choose only "recovery checkbox" and browse to "recovery.img" from RO.EDi W100 CWM v6.0.3.2
- Turn the phone off and enter CWM
- install zip from sd card -> choose zip from sdcard -> UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.41.zip
- Reboot and enjoy rooted W100"

I got to the phones recovery menu by following the following instructions
A. Remove Battery From Phone wait 2 sec.
B. Reinstall Battery
C. Press Volume UP + Power
AND DON'T LET GO OF THE BOTH KEYS
FOR ABOUT 8 SEC until u are into recovery menu.
its all in Chinese - is there a way to swap over to English ?
I seem to have selected the phones self check / diagnostic option which it started checking SIMs, Audio Volume and GPS, I then removed the battery and it was all OK. I would recommend against doing this unless you know what your doing or able to change the language to one you can understand...

I'm using a matte screen protector I bought with the phone, and I strongly advise you leave the screen protector on. Scratches will just annoy you, and it's not gorilla glass.

You've accessed the THL stock recovery I think, you need to flash CWM onto your phone.
it definitely is the THL recovery, there are quite a few options to select from, would be nice if we could get a better handle of what the THL recovery is capable of, may have its own built in ROM Flashing capabilities with no need to use CWM.

[Q] need ROOT exploit for latest non SAMSUNG EXYNOS 5410 device

I am about to buy a high specs EXYNOS 5410 Octa core pad need to know if there are any available ROOT exploit for this device which is non SAMSUNG brand. A google search keeps cropping up with SAMSUNG rooting exploits for Exynos 5410 (there is a life after SAMSUNG you know)
My best bet will be for Chainfire EXYNOS ABUSE type of exploits, so Chainfire are you up to it? It should be easier for you.
The product is a TEAM GEE TG-8001 8inch Pad with #g build in/GPS.WIFI and whole shizz bang.
It can be browsed here : http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Team...PS-Touch-Screen-1280-800-2GB-16GB-319522.html

Might as well stay away from that kinda of crap. No gapps? means no google playstore. Overly priced, I can buy the same stuff on China market for about USD125 and they are selling it here in US for over USD300?
I got a root right by Kingo Android Root.
Installing GApps:
- Install RootExplorer;
- Download gapps-jb-20130812-signed.zip (!);
- Unpacked in the internal memory folder ONLY gapps-jb-20130812-signed\system\app\ (!);
- After RootExplorer transferred all the system folder (for example "system/app/Gmail.apk");
- Changed permissions to rw-r--r-- (!);
- Turned off, turned on, there was a update application.
Profit!
Thanks a lot but what about the freezes and other problems?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am buying in the next 48hrs since I can get it for USD125 nothing like the USD300 that GeekBuying is selling. Oh! I got it it is the same process as my ZENITHINK devices update through sdcard with power+key combination. (in this case the V button) please try the Exynos Rooting file I have attached for you and feedback it is an .apk file that you install on the pad and run it from there.
God bless.

Hi again,
thanks for the video.
a) Regarding the GPS test: Just seing some sats does not mean the gps works well. Please wait until it finds a position (sats USED >0) and wait for about 10 minutes if it KEEPS the fix (sats used stays >0 for the entire 10 minutes without going back to 0. Also take a look at accuracy.
b) The freezes that are reported might be due to CPU overheating. Please download droidfish from the market, let it analyze a chess postion for 10 minutes and tell me if the system got frozen/crashed.
THANKS!
I will let you know my impressions with the new firmware.
regards,
Alexander

[ROM][6.0][Ulefone Paris] ** Perfect-ROM MM V 1.0 **

Finally, after a series of tests and spare time that lately more and find it less, I managed to reach a compromise acceptable to release the new "PERFECT ROM", first alternative ROM to the only official Marshmallow firmware for our beloved Paris.
Here is a list of the features of this ROM, with the changes made:
PERFECT ROM MM V1:
1) Based on the latest version of the stock firmware (29/08/2016);
2) BusyBox included;
3) Recovery TWRP included;
4) BOOT.IMG unlocked;
5) Firmware fully translated into Italian (some applications had not the Italian language);
6) Customizing the boot logo;
7) Customization of the boot animation;
8) Make changes and improvement to build.prop;
9) Added notification tones.
The ROM must be flashed as if it were in effect an official firmware, then using SP Flash Tool.
My council staff, it is a ROM-based on official firmware, who want avoid losing your personal data (applications, etc.), can make advance the backup of your existing firmware and, after you install and configure this, restore its back-up created ONLY PART OF USERDATA !!!! You will have the new firmware, but with your personal data. On how to back up, I refer you to post already abundantly treated on site.
I avoid putting screenshoot, would not make sense as a question of changing the official firmware that we all know.
As you can see, in this ROM is not integrated the ROOT. The thing is done on purpose, in order to give way at all to use their improved firmware, but not rooted, which can constrain the use of some applications (Pokemon-GO as an example).
In case you want to put the root, you need only download it from HERE and install it using TWRP, the ROM has been prepared and you will have to restart in order to have the root.
Since this is a first version, I think it goes without saying that all users are welcome for tips, questions, clarifications, report problems and mistakes and all you can relate to this ROM ONLY.

Let's see...
EDIT: I've got the same issue with this ROM like with the official ROM. Don't know why, it has 5.1 Lollipop system app icons and backgroud pic instead of new Marshmallow stuff.
Do I get it right?
1st I have to flash official MM F/W.
2nd Flash PerfectRom MM using SPFlashTool?
Great work Cuvetto, as always ?

No, IT isn't correct.
This is like an official firmware, so you can flash whanever ROM you have on board, through SP Flash Tool.
Can It be installed copying it on the SD and using manual update?

No, it needs a zip file...
MM perfect rom is not update, is new full rom.
Imposible ;/
Thank you for this rom. Flashed it on Tesla Smartphone 6.1, which is an actual clone of Paris. Went from 5.1 to MM, no problem. Seems to have better battery management. No problems so far.
Could you let me know which modules of the ROM are required if upgrading from a stock version (malware included)
If i could keep my files even better, but at the moment my phone is endlessly rebooting and not getting past the initial logo
Can it be flashed straight on top of Perfect ROM 5.1 with no loss of apps/user data?

hi, Cuvetto!
I'm using your 'perfect rom vers. 2' with pleasure -up to yesterday:
as I read, there's a problem with chinese phones: "nytimes.com/2016/11/16/us/politics/china-phones-software-security" and I searched the link "kryptowire.com/adups_security_analysis.html" and found that:
...All of the data collection and transmission capabilities we identified were supported by two system applications that cannot be disabled by the end user. These system applications have the following package names:
com.adups.fota.sysoper
com.adups.fota
The data collection and transmission capability is spread across different applications and files. The data transmission occurred every 72 hours for text messages and call log information, and every 24 hours for other PII data.
I looked up my phone with "ES-Explorer" and found these two applications.
I didn't try to handle anything like to delete/expunge the apps by now. As stated by Kryptowire, they can't be deleted by the (normal) user.
I will try to, as I have root. may be it will function.
Nevertheless, i wanted to inform you and the community about this severe backdoor, coming with stock firmware and, in consequence, with your perfect roms, as they are based upon...
Hope this helps anyhow, to have it patched?
yours, nu'uk
p.s.: sorry for not being able to post correct links, but I need some more postings, to get the permission to do so in xda-forums...
Hi,
i tried to install twrp before and after rom, it says download successful but i still have the stock recovery.
Edit: use download mode only
Can someone tell me how to decrease size of zram on this ROM?
Problem with flashing your MM ROM v1.0 with latest SPTool
Hello, I have a problem to flash your Perfect ROM MM v1.0 using recommended SPTool and standard flashing setup.
Can you please help me Cuvetto with this problem: if the SPTool is telling me, after the step where you click "Start all" but after i click it
and connect smartphone (which is turned off)
it tells me that the checksum file with .ini is not present and it stops - no flashing is happening.
Hello. Finally I installed this ROM. Everything woked, but I see some bugs that I'm not sure I could bear.
The bright is too high and when I turn it into the lower possition, it automatically is increased in a few seconds.
I can't uninstall system apps (although been root) like fota.adups.
The system is a bit slower.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Do these ROMs have the slight but constant micro-stuttering that the stock ROM has?
I guess all these ROMs are loaded with Google's stuff?
With the exception of Play Store I'd like to be free of the Google fleet of useless apps.
It's great that you've been able to port these ROMs. I hope a lot of people use them. I just have different needs! Tx.

Yes, all of them. You can "freeze" or delete unwanted Google apps. Do it manually or try to find scripts which can do this automatically.
Hi, I was thinking to buy this tablet.
Can these ROMs fix the issue of too high brightness even at the lowest level?
If not can you recommend a free application to solve the problem?
Better this or teclast m89 pro? Thanks.

To solved this brightness issue I use the sFilter app or any other blue light filter app.
But to tell the truth, I wouldn't recommend to buy any Teclast tablet. I have a problem where he doesn't accept the installation of Instagram or Facebook app. I saw that many people have the same problem.
Anyone else with this problem or know how to solve?

I added solution, check it and let me know if it works for u
It's possible to change brightness limits manually by editing firmware files, If there's a big problem for u and other users I can change its' range sometime. Just let me know what firmware u are using.
Hello dev!
Are you still working on this device firmware? I bought it this month and not even on official site could find updates for, so I don't know if there is any firmware that I should update before using these that you made...
I'm using Pixel Experience and found it great. But I had problems with the initial setup, which always had trouble trying to recover the configuration of another device. When I checked to set up as a new device it work fine.
I could not open Magisk too, but i wanted to disable it and remove, but always shows error when trying. I'll try MIUI in sequence to see if I can.
Another question: The modified Stock has gapps included? (and can I remove root?)
Thank you so much for your work, I was happy to know that have other firmware for this tablet.
PS.: sorry for the "google translator english", my english is poor. lol

I used the modified rom too and liked a lot, but I couldn't install some apps through the playstore and had problems to remove root (Magisk). So I installed ASUS ROM and it is very stable and everything is working great. I'll leave it and see what happens!
Thanks!

Hello!
1) There is no more firmwares to port for our device. Also I don't know much about modding firmwares, so Pixel was my first successful experiment.
2) Latest official firmware for our device is TOS v2.1 which can be found in appropriative thread here. Seems no more updates will be released for our device.
3) Restoring function is bad idea esp on custom ROM. You should always make clean installation.
4) Custom ROMs can only boot with root access (e.g. Magisk). You cant uninstall it. In other case your device wont boot (Android 7.0 classical issue). P.S Magisk is not like "classic" root, so you can "hide" it for apps that don't work on rooted device.
5) Of course stock ROM includes Gapps. All made changes are listed in topic. Root can'f be removed on any custom ROM (see p.4).

I gave the tablet to my son, the Stock ROM that came on it is'nt good and so I put the ASUS ZenUI ROM. (After testing all others)
I hide Magisk and the ROM is working perfectly.
Thank you so much for the great work.
Happy 2020.
