Try Installing soju factory image from google. I did a clean install wiping dalvic chache as well and my battery is awsome since then and I never disable google now. See in the attached screenshot how flat battery consumption curve when I am not using it.

I did the samething after getting terrible battery life due to an AudioOut_2 wakelock that never let my phone idle, and the same thing still happens. I'm wondering if a hardware malfunction could cause screwy behavior like this.
Just do "proper clean install", it should help.
Agree with clean install. ROM and kernel choice have a lot to do with battery drain also.
Was this a one time thing or the norm for your phone? If a one time thing wouldn't worry too much but would still shop for ROMs and do a clean install.
I have started using Juice Defender and LUX and my battery life has increased exponentially its features should help any ROM kernel combo.

i had a problem with android os sucking the life out of my battery, all was ok for about a week after i installed jb but then my battery life sucked. rather than do a clean instal i turned off auto sync for a couple of days then switched it back on again, since then my battery life has been good and android os has hardly used up any battery. might be worth while trying this first
Yeah. Full wipe is a last resort. At least if you figure out what actually caused it, you can prevent it from happening. I remember my Nexus S had this weird bug where if I put the phone in air plan mode and didn't disable auto sync, the phone would never properly sleep. Never had that issue on any other phone.
Its sometimes ROM related....codename ROM I get high android is but not with androxide

You have network disabled... Off course it does not drain!
I cannot tell much about your device setup since not all the details were given, But even my Sprint Nexus S 4G had horrible battery issues. The stock gingerbread was a joke, then the stock ICS did improve to do a couple more hours. Now running an rooted JB and it seems to do 1day and 3 hours at this time.

One Power Guard can help the system into a deep sleep,Reduce battery drain
downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889740
One Power Guard, an AMAZING product, saves energy for your Android device under the all circumstances. It greatly enhances device performance, improves battery, and powers up standby time and battery life by optimizing system kernel and cpu, avoid phone overheating, shutting down useless programs, preventing from energy-consuming apps, initiating deep-sleep mode, adjusting Wifi parameters, optimizing charging parameters and pacing up setting change , etc.
Google Now
Turning off Google now is what fixed the battery drain for me. Tried other things but only this worked.
Did the S-Off; Custom Recovery; Permanent Root last night. Everything went fine, rebooted after everything was done and charged my phone to 100%.
Wake up this morning after not touching the phone for 8 hours and the phone lost 30% over night. Looking at the battery stats the Kernel (Android OS) took up 60% of the battery. Wakelock Detector is showing Google Search as a wakeup trigger 92 times.
Before this whole process I was averaging 5-6 hours of screen on time, anybody else seeing some weirdness going on with their battery life?

Root and S-Off alone? No. Mods/tweaks that require root? Yes.
Can Google search be a random wakelock sometimes for seemingly no reason? Absolutely.

Install gsam and get a better idea of whats going on. I also flashed the insecure kernel thats floating around and since actually noticing back to normal use.
Questions should go in Q/A btw

No I will look around for that though and see what it's about.
I've been rooting my phones since the Thunderbolt and I'm my opinion/experience nothing is better than stock. Once I started messing with Kernels, custom recoveries, Roms, "tweaks" ect...battery seems to be affected big time. Maybe its things I do as I'm not an expert at any of this and by no means am I trying to bash on devs for the work they do but that has just been my personal experience.

FWIW I didn't experience any sort of battery drain with the temp root before we got S-Off.
root and s-off will not affect battery. Xposed modules, root apps, and other mods can. I have about 6 or so xposed modules running and I still get way, way over 1.5 days of battery life. I had 2 hours of screen on time and my phone used 55% in 1.5 days so.... its pretty good. Check to make sure google now isnt causing wakelocks, turn off location reporting and if you can, turn off google now completely. I really only used it for weather because I don't see much other functionality with it.

I haven't added any apps since running the temp root when I was getting great battery life.
I did the s-off, recovery, and root...uninstalled Verizon bloat and that's it.
Lost 30% over night last night. I drained the battery to 1% last night, turned phone off and charged to 100%, unplugged and didn't touch it....woke up to 70% battery life.

I've had both of those running since the temp. root. which screens will give you the best idea of what is going on?
I did flash the insecure kernel earlier this afternoon, and turned off google now.
If anything try a factory reset. It should definitely help.

Post the gsam home screen and the apps section. Also post the home screen of wakelock detector for kernel wakelocks
Most s-off will turn on debug process.
return s on state after you have done modes or you need many tweaks in further.

Hi all,
I just updated my nite to kitkat and I'm noticing a major change in my battery life...
On 4.1.2 I got through the day with no problems but now it seems as if the battery is draining much faster.. I'm getting about 5 hours of screen on...
Anyone else facing a similar situation?
Thanks!

Did you do a full erase full reset? What rom did you install?
Erase the "batterystats.bin" file.
How to reset my battery stats?
If your battery drain problem doesn't go away, try re-flash your ROM & redo the above steps.
Hello guys,
These days I've been noticing that something is draining my battery really fast. I checked and only half of the time my device is ON it is in deep sleep. The other half is on 400Mhz frequency. I check battery stats on Settings and OS is consuming it all. Yesterday I didn't use it and I got 1h of screen, and 25 minutes the day before. And again 50% of the time in sleep mode and 50% used (but I didn't use it)
Something is not letting my phone go into sleep mode. It's been happening for a week now.
Any clues on how to check deeper what's causing it?
i dont know whats causing it but i had it to in the night it lost 5/6 % of battery and i started to hate it but i installed greenify 3.0 build 5 and donate version so i added every single app and some system apps in it and it helped me allot only 1% lost in the night about 9 ours so its perfect for me now just try it i hope it helps

and maybe its a app that you installed as last is waking up your device ?
and have tried a factory reset and what rom are you using ?

I have just tried what you said. I'll be testing it today.
However I calibrated my battery when this starting to make sure it was well calibrated.
And I thought I could be an app but it would be under Battery Settings and show us very consuming, wouldn't it?

yes that true it would show you but if i were you i did a factory reset fullwipe and use a good rom like alexis rom the latest one and install greenify aswell but first test what you are doing right now if its not good than you have no choice just full wipe clean install a good rom
First try this you can check it with this app also wakelock detector

Hey guys,
I bought OP6 8/128 version and first, the battery life was ok, I was getting 4-5 hours of sot. Now, I see that battery is discharging in constant rate and something is keeping my phone awake all the time. Firstly I thought it was Instagram when it helped when I force stopped it. Now I'm lost 20 percent overnight and battery stats show, that all the time my device was awake. Cannot see anything suspicious through gsam or better battery stats as I believe the put it under android system. Help anyone?
Did you already do a reboot?

From personal experience, i found that updating OTA was the culprit. To get around this, download the full update from Oneplus and update that way.
Ever since i started doing this, I have not had the battery drain issues i used to have. Also, wipe cache before booting phone after update.

So I should try to do fresh install from OnePlus site? Awake time drops when I clear recent apps, so I believe this is either Instagram or Facebook doing this. Really weird. Even without awake time shown in graph, I got 35% drain in 1h sot and 11h standby, this shouldn't be normal, right?
It's crazy, because I used to have a good battery life

for testing, can you uninstall Instagram and Facebook for 1 day and see how your battery life changes.
I can tell you right now Instagram has a prefetch service which causes close to 1-2 hours of wakelock per day for me. I have root so I can disable it but there's no other way from the app itself.

You can just set the app to not use any background data from within Android. I have it on all that's not important for me.
Loose about 0.3% per hour without any apps or mods on beta 2.

So, the story continues... After following your advice and restricting background data for Instagram the wake up time fixed itself, however battery is still draining. Screenshots attached (facebook and time sensors used??)
I will test every available option and if they won't work, I would consider moving to beta oxygen os. Now I'm on 5.1.11
I am ready to trace this to it's roots for people who will potentially encounter this problem in the future.

It could be your spotty connection. Your awake time is fairly high when the mobile network connection goes south. Can you try using something like 3G instead and see if the awake time goes down? As well as the battery drain?
Naturally 3G uses less battery but if you see a drastic difference then it could be the tower connection you have. When the signal gets worse the modem tries harder and effectively uses more battery trying to stay connected.
Have a look if Facebook is allowed to use unlimited background data, I believe there is a setting for it on 5.1.11 aswell (I'm on beta, its a beast.)
There are many reasons not to install Facebook apps on your phone, and this is one of them.

Background data off both for Facebook and Instagram fixed (at least it seems) the overnight drain issue even with airplane mode on. Last time I lost 20-30%, tonight less than 4-5%
Just when I thought I found what was causing the drain, take a look at this: 20min sot and 20% down in 4.5h
Screens attached, still searching for the issue. Android battery stats show no awake time, but something is definitely draining (app usage insanely high on 80%)

So strange.. I feel we still have 3 options here.. 2 old and one new.
Flash 5.1.11 without wiping anything (you won't loose data so it's just an upgrade)
Flash beta 2 dirty as an upgrade, (you might get device corruptednat boot, press power 2 times and forget about the message) you won't loose any data or apps this way either.
Last option is the least fun, clean install of rom :/. If you ask me, I'd go for beta 2 option, if you wanna run something you know is stable go with 5.1.11.
I didn't run into any issues with beta 2 but some are (I believe user error here..)
Changed my mind.... I have 2 more posible fixes.. (I think)
Hmmm, one more thing I just came to think of is try using SD Maid, now this is just a guess that it will do anything at all..
The other thing is flashing a kernel, something could have happened there after an upgrade or something (just a guess.)
I'm running flash kernel now, it's really good

Thanks for your thoughts, thinking of going to beta 2 since I am on 5.1.11 right now. As for flashing kernel, I've been there with custom roms and kernels with several other phones and in the end most of them (except galaxy s5) were working better on stock ones after a while... However, doesn't rooting void the warranty on OP6?

I would suggest doing a factory reset or uninstall your apps one at a time. Considering it's saying kernel wakelock (could be false positive) I would start go straight to factory reset. If going to Android Pie beta 2 is overall stable and forces a reset anyways, then go ahead and do that instead.
Im just getting 5-6hours SOT on my new op6, is this the normal battery life? Was planning on flashing custom kernels? Any suggestions?
