Dear All,
I am new to this community. Yesterday i have flashed my Galaxy note N7000 as per the instruction provided in this forum(link below).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2051904
I have successfully done the flashing for the first time and it works fine except few things..
My Apps are not restoring as previous state.. if i check in play store all the apps are showing installed for my account. But i try to access the play store using my mobile its asking me to install ( got confused how for my same account its showing installed in web but showing not installed in mobile )
How to get back my apps in old state( I have reinstalled Temple run 2 i got it from the old stage but when i tried to install candy crush it installed as new from scratch i have to start )
I feel battery charging taking so much time. Also i cant find any Spen features in 4.4!!! am i missing something?
Please help and let me know if i need to do something.
Thanks
Kart

Hey Kart. Right away I can tell you that there is no support for S-Pen functionality in this rom. As for your apps, I have never had this problem? Did you flash the appropriate 4.4 PA Gapps?

[Q] Unable to install apps from Play Store

Hello,
Post rooting (repenting it already) my Samsung Galaxy S Plus (GTI9001), I am unable to install any apps via Play Store. I am able to install apk's from the SD Card though. I un-rooted the phone but problem persist.
When I try to install any app, I can see the app being downloaded on the notification but the moment the download completes nothing happens. When i go to Play Store > My Apps I could see that it still says downloading though the app is fully downloaded. I guess some permission issues here. Please help.
I have already cleared Play Store cache and tried.

Hello,
Which Rom do you use? Maybe you have to root it again. Usually you can fix permissions in CWM. Have you tried to restart after "Download is finished". For Me it was working on my Asus EeePad.

Chris, I am still on stock ROM and I am not likely to go for a custom ROM since there are not much good ROM's available for Samsung Galaxy S Plus and Yes I tried multiple reboots. After reboot, on the notification it says that app download failed due to some error with a number.
Thanks for your reply.
Same issue
Reyolin,
I have had the same problem on my Samsung Galaxy S Plus but it has only started today. Mine has been rooted for about 5 months now, since I first got it.
I did a search using EStrong File explorer and it found a file called "downloadfile.apk" in /cache (I assume this is the file as it is the same file size as stated in the Play store. However, when I tried to run or copy it it had disappeared.
It's almost like the APK is being downloaded and then being deleted before installation actually occurs.
I think rooting your phone and the inability to install apps is just coincidental.
I will do some more playing about and see what I can find (I also already tried removing the Google Play updates (to go back to the old style Market). This still did not solve the problem.

Exactly same proble
Hi,
I have exaclty the same problem (galaxy s plus), rooted 5 month ago and problem started 2 days ago...
I updated superuser at that time and tried to update the su binarie but it fails on validation of new su and stopped (not replacing old su), this is the only thing I can remember of. root is still working with old su. Maybe the cleaning needs to be done ?
Has someone found a way to fix this?
edit:
after some investigation, this is what happens:
if I try to install one app from play store, it is downloaded correctly and then nothing happens.
the file downloaded is in /cache/downloadfile.apk
If I copy this file to /sdcard/external_sd/downloadfile.apk and run it manually it installs correctly.

galaxy s plus specific issue
i am having the same problem since morning and i also use Samsung galaxy s plus, so certainly the issue is phone specific.
Good news! Problem solved for me
Hi,
I contacted google play support and her was there answer:
Thanks for contacting us and I am sorry for the delay in responding.
We've gotten some reports that users with Samsung Galaxy S Plus devices running Android OS version 2.3 (Gingerbread) are having trouble using Google Play. We're aware of this issue and to solve it we recommend you to uninstall updates to the Google Play app by following these steps:
1. Tap Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications
2. Find the "All" tab
3. Scroll down to Play Store and tap to select
4. Tap "Uninstall updates"
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
So I followed this and it works again!
Here are the steps after doing google recommendations:
- click google play icon, it will open old google market
- install an application, for me it worked again!
- exit google market
- click again the google play icon, it will ask to accept google play license
- click yes and then try to install another app, it worked again!
Hope this will solve also your issues,
Stef
I Just had the same problem. Here is how I fixed it,
- Uninstalled updates for Google Play
- I added a New Google Account.
- I Then signed into the new Google Account, Then Sign Into Your Main Account
And "BOOM" problem solved.

Play Store broken

Hello Everyone,
First time post. I scoured through numerous posts about the Play Store unable to find one related to mine. I will give as much detail as I can. Pretty simple if you are savy with rooting.
Phone: HTC Evo 4G
ROM Installed: MazWoz-Evo-B6 (Jellybean
GoogleApps Version: gapps-JB-20121124
Have attempted other ROMS and gapps versions. Just a few. But enough to know I must be missing a step or it is just broken and no one has it running :S. I have cleared all the cache, both the Play Store app cache and in Recovery mode Cache's. I just started into this Rooting last night. Very comfortable installing different ROMS. But why is the Play Store broken on each one? I have tried installing the ROM, Booting up, shutting down and than installing Gapps. Along with installing Gapps right after the Rom install. I clear everything for fresh install of both. It is getting me no where and the internet is full of all kinds of topics related to the Play Store. But nothing that fixes this issue.
I can not get connected to the Google Play Store. Using an existing google account to log in with, it never makes it into the store. But using this step does setup the email for the phone. Maybe that will help pinpoint an idea to you guru's. I hope someone can help.
Thanks!

first thing. ensure that your rom download and gapps download are both good downloads and not corrupt. even partially corrupt files can flash unless you used md5 checksums. But since each rom is having a problem... really looks like your gapps might be the problem...
thats something to check at least...
Play Store DB reset

Android's play store is oddly configured. Depending on your rom's tweaks, a variety of things can cause playstore issues including: LCD Density (via /system/build.prop), ro.product.model= (via /system/build.prop), ro.product.manufacturer= (via /system/build.prop), and lastly the Google Play Database file.
Sorry I can't remember the location of this file, but basically on our phones there is a database file, I believe an SQL DB. If you have lots of problems, you can try to close google play, erase cache/data to the app, then rename the db file to **OriginalNameOfFile**.BAK
open google play, and it should be fixed

[Q] can't run apps installed from apk files cyanogenmod 10.1.3

Hi guys, i bought a galaxy tab 2 7" (p3110) and i had it running the stock fw. Everything was fine and i decided to flash it with clockwork mod and cm 10.1.3 (meaning i have 4.2.2 android version). Everything seems to work fine but the weird thing is that i cant run anymore applications which i install from apk files. I tried with so many games that i had installed and were working fine at stock fw. Does anyone of you know why they not running anymore? Is it the version of the android, something with google's license maybe (when i install apk files there is a message which informs me if i want google to check apps that i install outside of play) ?

Strange Malware on my device

Hi all.
I need some help / info on this. I have googled but found nothing similar to this.
I have a rooted Google Pixel 2 Running the stock December Pie firmware (latest at the time of writing)
Recently i noticed that apps that are already installed on my phone are reinstalling themselves silently.
I use MobileGO on my PC to manage my phone and it keeps showing that apps have been installed when they haven't updated via Play Store... and i have not side loaded them either.
At first i though it to be an error with MobileGO but it happens to random apps almost daily so i decided to extract the apps to pc and compare the hash values of the "updated" versions against the same verion number extracted from the play store and of course they are different. Something is modifying my installed apps but there no other symptoms.
I want to find out what is causing this rather than just do a reset or re flash however im not sure where to start as this is symptom less i wouldn't have even noticed if not for managing the phone via the pc
I also want to look for what has been modified in these version that are now on my phone can anyone with apk reversing experience please help me compare for differences or a common modification between the files ?
