hey guys!
I want to install cyanogen mod 7 on my HTC Desire Z. However, i heard cyanogen mod 7 was based on android 2.3. I'm on 2.2. I'm rooted, but I was wondering if I can just install cyanogen mod 7 on 2.2 or do I have to update and if I have to update, will I have to unroot my device or can I just do it just the way my phone is now?
Thanks,
Yes, you can install Cyanogen mod 7.0 on your rooted phone. It doesn't really matter which version of android there is right now, so you don't have to update.
Hello I'm new to xda developers. I recently flashed the AOKP milestone 2 Rom and it worked great. I wanted the franco kernel. I downloaded it and flashed it. It didn't work. I flashed Beck to stock and re-rooted my phone. Nothing. I tried to install cm10.1.2 and it just bootloops. I flashed xenon hd rom. It Worked but when I flashed the gapps I bootloops. I am now running stock 4.3 rooted and I really want to install xenon hd but nothing works. I would like to know what's wrong with my device and how to fix it.

Click to collapse
Go to the nexus 7 forum and look for the pre rooted 5.0.2 firmware. Flash that with twrp and you're updated without loosing root.

My rooted nexus 5 is still 5.1.0
I would like to update to marshmallow by using nexus root toolkit
Should I directly flash the marshmallow stock image (6.0.1)?
Or firstly flash the 5.1.0 stock and then use OTA update steps by steps to 6.0.1 (5.1.1->6.0.0->6.0.1)
Thanks a lot!
You can flash 6.0.1 ! It's better and faster...
