ART users? Quick mods question? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any mods to enable battery percentage and editable quick tiles yet for ART? It's been the only thing stopping me from switching over

Or even a dedicated thread for ART compatible mods listed?

hmm, how do you define mods?
xposed isn't working with art enabled, but for mods you can get from playstore or any other app, many infos about compatibility can be found here:

ahhhh, thanks
so all mods, only modifying the system by not adding or changing any java code should work!.. eg new bootanimation, or only ressource tweaks for theming.. but everything changing java code is potentially dangerous - ok, some kind of obviously if you using a unstable run time xD
the real problem is that google does not provide any list of already implemented functions, the aot compiler already can use :/ .. would be nice especially for us developers to know what we can use, so our app is not crashing. until google provides more infos or someone is geeky enough to tear down art, testing and failing recursively.

Changing DPI globally by any means can have adverse effects on your phones stability and on lots of apps, for example, GOggle play may quit working or the phone may not boot.
yeah never done it, ust read someone suggest it to someone else.
iev always ran roms taht have the option for LCD density built in

Changing icons with ART

Might be a stupid question, but I can't figure a way to specifically word a search to answer my question. Can someone point me in the right direction to change my icons while running ART? I'm using Unicon right now with dalvik, but would like to try ART. Thanks for the help
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Hi,
Unicon use Xposed Framework, I mean it's a module, right?
You can't use ART runtime with Xposed stuff because it's not compatible...
For example, info about ART and Xposed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50320265.
Can't link a specific post with XDA app...

Exactly what I'm saying. I can't use it if I want to try out ART. So I'm wondering what my options are to change icons while using ART
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Ah ok
Sorry, I guess I misread
You use the stock launcher?
If yes, right now I don't know... A solution is to use an alternative launcher (Nova, Apex) with custom icons pack.
Sent from my LG-D802 using xda premium
Or use desktop visualizer its free on playstore, but you can only change one icon at the time, and only on desktop, not in the drawer.

I've played around with settings and still can't get it to work. Also, the option for Direct Volume Control is greyed out.

Maybe you're trying to apply effects and settings in poweramp. That would be pointless. You want to run poweramp vanilla.

30 Volume Step Mod

Is there one for N5? I can't find one and my ROM doesn't have it built-in either.
I've seen some tutorial on how to make it, but it's also ROM specific and I really don't know how to do all that, nor have the time to, really.

Nope. There is one for calls and media, but I also need the option for notifications. One I've found on Xposed was just for the first two.

It doesn't work with AdAway... Mother of all Ad-blocking should work I think. No need to Xposed.
