I have 2 Google accounts on my phone; personal and work.
In my Google account settings, I have the chosen services to sync checked.
In data usage/menu/ auto-sync data is checked.
A few hours after I make sure all services to be synced are checked, they slowly start turning off by themselves one by one. All on at night, 75% turned off in the morning.
This have been happening since recently on 4.4.0. I did a complete factory wipe back to 4.4.0 and allowed stock upgrades to happen; both 4.4.1.and now 4.4.2.
I'm unlocked, rooted, using franco kernel r20 and moto-x dalvik patch on stock odex 4.4.2 ROM.
Starting today, Gmail will not sync regardless of sync settings. If I check email on phone, it's not marked as read on PC hours later. Also, 2 messages composed on phone today, not sent (stuck in sending mode).
I cleared cache of Gmail. No change.
This shouldn't be a leftover issue unless it's tied to some app. I am running on a brand new, untouched version of stock ROM (before I rooted and installed TWRP).
I've searched and searched. Only topic I can find is either Exchange sync issues or folks that had auto-sync data turned off.
Ideas?

The first thing that you do when you encounter a situation like this, is to remove variables. Those variables are franco kernel and the dalvik patch. Get rid of them and test again.
Yeah, I recently installed both in 4.4.0 right before the 4.4.1 update came out. At least that's when I noticed this issue happening.
I'll (un)do both.
Removed Moto X Dalvik patch by flashing stock system.img.
Sync still turning off automatically.
Just removed franco kernel (back to stock 4.4.2). Will have to wait and see.
Stock kernel and issue remains.
This is totally weird.
I have a few mods:
Center clock/battery % icon
36 dpi nav bar
4in1 reboot
All 3 of these mods are new versions. I still had the problem when on 4.4.0 with old versions of those 3 mods.
That's it. What in the hell can be making Google account services sync turn off? Does ANYONE have a clue on what might be happening?
This is interesting. Somehow, I have 2 N5s listed in my Google account. I only have 1. I never returned it or RMA or anything. Not sure why they're there.
Could this be an issue where my Google account is attempting to sync from a phantom device?
I mean, it does seem that the sync disappearing is more than just something on the phone, right? It's a stock phone with 3 mods (that shouldn't be related to syncing at all).
This problem has happened on 3 versions of Android.
Looks like a delete of all Google accounts and reinstall worked. Must have been a booger left over from something else.
Actually, not fixed. Still have services turning off sync.
Anybody? Please? Ideas?
It's probably Qualcom Battery Guru. It's trying to save your battery by turning off sync to certain services. Change the setting to let it use data whenever it wants.

Holy chit! You got it! Of course, never even occurred to me. I just came from a Note 2 so I didn't have the Snapdragon CPU to use Battery Guru.
Thank you very much!

I have Rooted EE4 Debloated 4.2.1 installed on my SamChg.
I am having a problem with GMail that nobody has fixed yet (or responded to much, darn it ).
In an attempt to fix my GMail problem, I was thinking of doing a Factory Reset. Would doing the Factory Reset still get me back to Rooted Debloated 4.2.1 with CWM and Voodoo?
P.S.: It sure would be nice if CWM Recovery was working, tho.
Thanks,
have you tried to uninstall gmail and reinstall it?
I just tried removing/reinstalling GMail, and it had no effect. I still get 2 notifications for each new GMail I receive - one with the default notification ringtone, and one with the ringtone selected in the GMail app.
Nobody else has responded much to my questions on this problem, so I figured I should reset my SamChg back to Factory Defaults and see what happens.
That should only blow about 2 hours of time to get back to where I am now
A factory reset does not get you back to a stock ROM, but it gets you to a fresh version of whatever ROM you have installed, and certainly may help your problem. That sounds like a specific issue on your phone, so that's a good troubleshooting step, though fairly heavy handed since it will reset everything on your phone. Have you tried just going in to your list of applications and clearing the data for GMail?
I tried clearing the settings, but it had no effect. When I re-enabled Gmail syncing, I got 2 notifications.
I actually don't think that doing the Factory Reset will solve the problem, but I don't know what else to do right now.

Do you have any other app setup to check your Gmail email? Or another address that email is forwarded to from Gmail that your phone is also checking?

Hi, imnuts - I don't have any other apps checking GMail when I am experiencing this problem.
On the other hand, the only way I have found to fix this problem - currently - is to:
Turn off GMail Sync (under Account Sync),
Freeze the GMail application, and then
Setup my GMail through the TW Email app (with "Push" delivery).
It's a mess I shouldn't need to do, and I also have much slower GMail delivery since I'm at Verizon's mercy as to when *they* want to "push" my email to me.
Also, I don't have any other emails routed to the GMail application.

I'd consider the Factory Reset. I've seen stranger things fixed by that. If that doesn't work, reflash the ROM and kernel.

The past couple of days I've been trying to figure out what/how to fix my framework crashes. I finally got to do a factory reset and I haven't seen any issues so far...
"Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want."
Well, I got some experience.
Doing a Factory Reset on the Debloated v4.2.1 is a VERY BAD THING.
There was virtually nothing available in the App Drawer (not even the Market). In addition, I can't get connected to the 4G network now. I get 5 signal bars, but it never connects to 4G (and, poorly to 3G). Not to mention all the FCs, so I won't mention them.
So, I ODIN'd to the EE4 DXC Voodoo, and it's better. But, I still can't connect to the 4G network.
Sigh.
OK - I got my 4G back, along with most (but not all) of my apps.
I also have the darned GMail double-notifications back, too.
Guys,

The Application Google Services Framework (process com.google.precess.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again

I just went through this on my Thunderbolt.
It's usually an issue with corrupted contact or calendar.
To fix it you have to turn off syncing automatic. Then manually try syncing one by one all the Google services. When you get to the one that causes the force close, turn syncing off. Go to settings... applications... clear data and cache for the offending app, then clear data and cache for Google services framework... force stop them if they're running. Reboot your phone. Try syncing again.
That worked for me.

That's not reassuring - I had this problem earlier this week. It's the reason I was jumping back and forth between ROMs and bricking my phone in the process. Hahaha. No matter what I did the crashes would persist.
Anyways, my resolution was to do a factory reset since /data was the only partition that never got wiped when switching ROMs. I haven't had any issues since. I restored all my apps with data with TiBu. I left all the system settings alone and input my settings manually.
But, when I did notice these issues start occurring it was only after I got a random soft reboot. My phone was just sitting on the counter when I heard the bootup sound.

Funny you mention this, because I noticed one of my contacts disappeared when I switched to this phone. Turns out two of my contacts somehow automagically merged together. It was still like that after I wiped /data, but I fixed it manually.
To the OP, it's something worth looking into. If it matters, the two contacts were my dad and bro. It's the same last name and the first names start with the same letter, but in no way are they similar.

Something is corrupting your calendar or contacts.
Do you know which is the culprit?
It's tedious, but if you do, go through each contact or calendar entry that syncs and find the offending one.
You didn't make it initially clear that you'd also turned off syncing and cleared the data in something beyond google services. If you skipped that, all you're doing is trying to repush the bad data on your phone back to the server, which pukes at the attempt and crashes your phone's services.

If you're coming from an HTC sense phone, I think the problem might be related to how it tries to link contacts. Every time I put a new install or rom on my Thunderbolt, the first thing the HTC sense stuff wants to do is link all my google contacts to the phone contacts. What's odd about that is the contacts on the phone come from Google in the first place, so what's the linking needed for?
Another thing I forgot to mention, the phone would crash doing basically anything with calls/SMS, and none of my services were synching properly. Only when I received a call or SMS would my GVoice SMS and GMail update.

I agree, it is an odd scenario. Even more odd, I was coming from pure Android with my Moto Droid on CM7. I never had a phone with an overlay nor did I link multiple Google contacts together, and I hadn't encountered this problem before when switching between ROMs on that or my NOOKcolor. This is actually the first Android device I've had where the contacts could be saved on the phone, but I still prefer to sync everything to the cloud.
I'm just glad my phone is running smooth again and hope the same for the OP.
When I turned on Auto Sync. I get the message, "Sync is currently experiencing problems, it will be back shortly". I can't sync my contacts at all. I also tried Contacts Sync Fix(app), and thay didn't seem to help.
Please any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Same problem here, may be their servers currently unavailable.
Same, getting a error also. Must be the servers then.

I'm not so sure about that. Can you check the date the sync was last successful? My sync date on my Galaxy S3 was a few months old (in Feb I think). I think (at least I) am running into the problem described in http://code.google.com/p/android/is...s Owner Summary Stars&groupby=&sort=&id=42641. I tried a few suggestions there like clearing out my contacts data etc. And then I deleted my account and recreated it and the problem is worse now. I don't get a last successful sync date at all anymore. No errors. But no syncing either. I can create new dummy records and it will eventually (a few minutes later sync). And changes I make on the phone will also eventually reflect in the cloud. Meanwhile no problems syncing on my Nexus 10. But if I change a real record (possibly a Google+ account), it never syncs up.

Well I removed my google account yesterday and re added it and now everything syncs up fine. My last sync time was about 5 minutes ago. It syncs constantly throughout the day since I use G+.
I have the same problem. If I clear the contacts data, it'll sync but only once. If I add something on my phone or on the website, the sync won't work again until I re-delete the contacts data again.
I have this for about 3 weeks now. I even reinstalled the ROM, but not helped.
Acer E350 with Android 4.0.3 (with 5 different updates, even with the first version). Everything worked correctly until May 15.
I solve this problem, I think...
Google Account Dashboard -> Account -> Security, I deleted all (mobile) apps*connections to my account, then deleted my Google Apps account on Android and reinstalled it. Now I can access everything again!

I've been having this issue for the past week and can't seem to fix. I've gone to Settings and deleted cache and data, Google contacts will resync and bring the contacts back, but then a short time later, they are gone. I've done this about a hundred times already. I've also gone and deleted duplicate contacts, installed an app to fix broken contacts, all to no avail. I don't know what else to do at this point, very frustrating. I'm having this issue on different roms that I flash.

I'm a little late to the game here, having recently acquired a One, but this fix worked perfectly for me. So far it's been a few hours and the sync still refreshes without issue. Kudos.

I can't find this settings. Does anyone know where this settings is at? This sync error is heavily draining my battery.
Updated to OxygenOS this morning. I did a full factory reset before flashing. I signed in to my Google account, everything synced except my contacts. It says they're synced in the settings app, but in the dialer and contacts app, there's nothing. I was able to sync my work Exchange account and everything came down fine. When I go to contacts and select Accounts, I only see my exchange account, no option to even add a Google account for syncing. Does anyone know what's going on?
Also rather annoying, AdFree does not seem to actually be working, even though it says it's installed the latest host file.
I'm mad I didn't make a backup before wiping like I always do. I always back up my SMS messages too, and I forgot to do that :crying:
Working fine here. Something on your end.
Solution
I figured out that it's because I flashed an incompatible version of gapps. It said it was a lollipop version, but it may have been for 5.1. I'm used to ROMs not coming with gapps, but then I remembered that Oxygen is certified and doesn't need a separate flash. All the other Google apps seemed to be working fine, but I guess one or more of the services weren't fully compatible.
I got a new phone about 2 months ago, a Moto Power G 2021, running stock firmware, not rooted, and have noticed that Gmail no longer alerts me when I receive a email, in fact it does not even check my email regularly anymore, it seems to check it around 1am, and then notify me of a dozen or so emails that were supposedly received all during the day. I have tried to find an answer to fix this issue, but am lost. I did not have this issue until I switched to a new phone. Can someone point me in a direction to try and figure out, or fix this issue?
EDIT: I do have the account set to sync, and the latest gmail app installed.
Power management will do it.
Clear system cache.
Check all the Google settings, online and on the Android.
Take all Google apks back to factory load, one at a time, conversely make sure all are up to date.
Try deleting and recreating your Google account.
Use manual syncing.
I only manual sync... screw Gookill
