I recently remembered that my PC has Bluetooth Capability. I'm sure I noticed when I bought it but never gave it much thought. So I attempted to connect my phone to my Windows 8 PC and WOW it worked I was so stoked! But now, I am apparently stuck. My device is paired. It believes that it is paired. It even sends audio to my Bluetooth device, so that my speakers are not on. But I am not hearing a thing on my PC. I had hoped that now with them being paired, I would be able to make and receive calls on my PC, as well as stream audio from my phone to my PC. So far, however, I can do exactly nothing with this connection. Am I missing something here, or is this a completely useless feature?

For me the headset & AV service work perfectly, straight away.
Turn on bluetooth, pair with your PC, and touch again to connect.
Apparently my old HTC Desire had these services (AV Source and Headset) but it always paired but didn't maintain a connection... no obvious reason, didn't bother to look up why lol.
I was just excited when as soon as I connected with my PC with WP7, the Headset service asked for permission and after that all phone audio came through!
Old news to some but it is really cool having your phone blast music through your PC speakers wirelessly absolutely no effort or hassle at all!
NOW IVE PAIRED TO MY WIN7 LAPTOP BUT WHEN I TAP ON COMPUTER ON THE MOZART IT COMES UP NOT CONNECTED. ANY IDEAS?
SECOND WHEN MY MOZART PLAYS SMS TONES WHEN PHONE IS IN STANDBY ITS LIKE IT HAS A HICKUP, IT STARTS PLAYING SKIPS AND FOR PERHAPS 1/2 A SECOND AND CARRIES ON. ANY IDEAS ON THAT ONE EITHER?

Getting a "Paired but not connected" issue with my bluetooth ear-piece and I've tried everything to get it to connect, even force closing wiping all the data from the bluetooth application and rebooting several times. I've only had this problem since switching from cyanogen mod to vegan tab (Love vegan tab btw) does anyone know some fixes or solutions?

I was able to pair my phone with the Vegan Beta 5.1 gTablet without issue...
I just bought a new headset and will try it and let you know...
Working fine for me as well but when I disconnect I have to re-boot to get audio over speakers on the GTAB
hmmm, thats really odd, maybe my headset itsself is being stupid. Thanks for the feedback guys.

I've found if you plug and unplug a regular wired headset into the headset jack, thst usually fixes the audio be muted on internal speakers.

I am having the same problem. Tried 2 different headsets, netbook, and my moto droid - but everything says "paired but not connected". nothing works! please help

I found this in a post today by enigma0456:
More research finally revealed something. BlueGPS4droid at sourceforge not the market. So, the external gps was "paired but not connected" until there was an application (bluegps) to "connect" to. Once that was installed I turned on the bluetooth and it immediately saw the hollux remote gps receiver. Tested it with Maps and it worked beautifully. So theories:
1. If there isn't an app waiting to use the bluetooth device it will pair but not connect until something asks for it.
now I realize this has to deal with gps but as i understand all phone apks have been removed that can be and not lose functionality in order to save battery life in Vegan 5.1 so if the above quote is right then there is no app (phone.apk etc.) to ask for the use of the ear piece and thus the paired but not connected issue.
now some people have mentioned not having issue getting their BT headset to work and maybe this is because the headset offers another use in their programing like they are designed to work like headphones or something and then there would be and app to ask for them and so they connect
the ones that do not work on the other hand like mine are only designed for phone audio; ever notice that on your Droid cell that your headset will say connected to phone audio, well in our case if the phone.apk/s are not there then there is nothing asking to connect to it.
DEVs are there any ideas to get functionality back even it that means adding back the phone.apks--and is that possible to do with our re-flashing a rom like side installing it or an update.zip

There is an app on the market, called "headset toggle widget" and that will do the trick and unmute your speakers
Possible workaround...
Don't know if this will help but, after I paired my BT headset with GTAB, I then paired it with another device (my phone) after which GTAB started giving me the paired but not connected message when I tried to connect back to the GTAB. What worked? Well, now before I select the headset device in GTAB's bluetooth device menu, I put the headset itself back into pairing mode. THEN, I select it in GTAB's bluetooth device menu and voilà, it connects. Downside, I have to put the headset into pairing mode everytime I want to connect it to GTAB. (Haven't bothered trying to unpair the headset with my phone yet to see if it makes a difference.) Hope it works at least as temp fix for ya.

What are you expecting to see at this point? This message means that the devices are ready to communicate.
Now send some files from one to the other, or do some other task that requires them to talk, and they will connect.
All my bluetooth problems have been fixed since the 2.3.3 update.
Previously, it would connect to my BMW bluetooth, rings, but no sound when answered. now FIXED! I can hear the other person.
Connecting to blackberry bluetooth audio streamer, playing music there would be pauses/breakups evey few minutes. now FIXED! constant stream.

Have read around the forum a little, and haven't found much info in regard to the problem I'm having...
Am currently using the Opensensation Rom from 13/05/2012...
I am unable to connect bluetooth to my car's handsfree bluetooth audio... I tried connecting it to a blackberry and my laptop, and worked fine. However, it connected in a different way to normal. Normally, I've had it ask for pin number, and put in the default 0000. However, on the blackberry, it came up saying something along the lines of "device trying to connect, number 2837346". On the phone, it said "ensure the number on other phone is 2837346" or whatever.
When I connect to the bluetooth in car, it says "Couldn't pair with Ford Audio because of an incorrect PIN or passkey". But, as said, it doesn't ask me to enter the passkey...
So, any ideas of what the problem is, or how I can solve it? Tried changing the radio to see if that would help, but no difference...
Please help me get this sorted. Need the handsfree for phone, and only just got this phone... All other phones previously have worked.
Well, it appears that this is a problem with the ROM itself, as using another ROM (Revelation HD 6.6.4 XE), and it pairs fine with my car bluetooth...
I used to be able to hear calls and media whilst connected to bluetooth in my car. one day it just stopped working. media still works but when i make a call or receive one, there's no audio. calls ,audio, and contacts are all checked in bluetooth settings. i've forgotten devices, rebooted, reconnecting, and nothing helps.
bluetooth connects to everything fine, but no call sound over any accessory i try. got a new car and it won't work in there either. i'm on android 7.1.2 .
searched all over and plenty of people are having these issues but none of the posts i've read solve my problem. any help would be appreciated
Hey hey, I have a 128GB pixel with the same issue. I actually opened a case with Google support today about it. about 3 months back, only phone audio stopped working in my car. I was hoping the 8.0 update would fix it but it did not. I have a 2017 Honda Civic LX. I tried everything on my phone - even factory reset. Media audio works, I can play Spotify just fine but when i get a call, I can not hear the other person and they cannot hear me. The phone indicates it is connected via bluethooth... I'll try to update this post with what they find.

128G pixel here. This happens with every Bluetooth device I connect it to. 2 car stereos, 2 speakers, and a headset. All worked fine and suddenly one day... Didn't. I was hoping O Would fix it with all the Bluetooth bug fixes and changes they implemented.

Did anyone ever solve this? I've got the same issue, but it effects *all* my Bluetooth devices, but only when I am switched to my secondary user profile.
I've reset the phone app but no dice.
My phone will say it is connected to the Bluetooth device for the phone call. If I switch to speaker or phone and then back to Bluetooth, it works. Anyone else have similar?

Hi!
After hours of Googling you are the first I found who has the same error.
I have a Lenovo TAB4 8+, my kid wants to use Zoom and his Bluetooth headset but only the speaker and mic on the tablet works. I tried fresh install, without luck:
There are 4 type of users:
- Owner (primary - this is the only profile which works for calls on bluetooth headset)
- Standard Users (secondary - bt headset only supports listening: Spotify etc..)
- Child (bt headset only supports listening: Spotify etc..)
- Guest
The bluetooth headset is working with other devices, but not with this one. Unfortunately I have no other android device which supports multi-user.
Moreover, there was an hour when bt call worked from secondary user, but couldn't find out what is the problem.
Can anybody help me on this?
