I just want to change the Notification Ringtone for the Google+ application. I have a Nexus 5 running 4.4.2.
The option to make this change appears to be there, but when I try to choose a different sound, it never changes - it always bounces back to the default sound. This is what Google offers, and I've tried it: https://support.google.com/plus/answer/1385063?hl=en&ref_topic=1304768
This is making me nuts. I'm sure it's something simple. Any suggestions???
Thanks in advance.

Same problem with identical configuration (i.e. Nexus 5 with 4.4.2 and updated version of the G+ app). It seems that is a bug. I have left a feedback in the help article that you referenced. Do not forget to leave your feedback there, in order to notify this problem to the developers.

Official release is in Google Play.
PerApp is a simple open source app that lets you set a few settings for individual apps. Specifically as of 1.03:
- orientation
- volume boost (Android 2.3+)
- screen timeout time
- CPU speed [root]
- font size
- input method [root]
I have a pre-release version here, with source code in the repository.
I wrote it because there is one app that I wanted to be able to lock the screen orientation for. I knew there is an app in the Market that does that, but I didn't like a recent review of it, so I wrote my own.
I am sure Tasker does all of this and more, but I prefer to use a simple, small and cheap app.
Only the CPU settings use root.
I posted 0.03 which should work better with the never show notification icon option.
Nice this is exactly what i searched changing the volume of one app.
i dowloadet the version PerApp003.apk start the program and after aktivating it and caling the programm again, my screen rests black and i get after +- 10sec the message: Unfortunately, PerApp has stopped.
any posibility to find a error log that can help to find the problem ?

Yeah, install Android Log Collector, run Per App, and right after the crash go to Log Collector and email me (arpruss at gmail dot com) your log. I have yet to see private stuff in a log, but if you're really careful you can email the log to yourself first, look through it, and then forward it to me.

ok its done, hope you can find the problem
EDIT: Works great now on gs2 4.0.3 big thx to arpruss
ICS problem fixed, confirmed with user.
I recommend everyone switch to 0.04 as it does stuff The Right Way.
I posted 0.06 which improves an audio boost issue.
I just added:
- CPU min/max speed changing on a per app basis (needs root); you need to go to Menu | Settings to activate it, though.
- Jelly Bean support (needs root, as in JB one doesn't get the READ_LOGS permission without root; on ICS and below root is not needed).
Just put out 0.08, fixing bug in CPU speed adjust.

Great idea!
I made some UI improvements in 0.09. Now in the apps list it shows some info about how apps were customized. Moreover, if you edit defaults, you get an option to reset all apps to default in respect of one of the settings.
Great work!
I suggest separating apps that had their settings changed from the ones with the default settings or puting them on top for easy access...
A change log in the OP would be appreciated as well.
Thanks!
color me impressed. I've been using tasker to do such things but I'd like it in a seperate app, especially if I can export those settings later (apply them to other phones maybe?)
It would be very usefull if you can set DPI perapp.
Thx.

But not all everyone likes CyanogenMod based roms
Does the volume boost work the other way around and can you use it on system apps? I'd really like to lower the volume of incoming facebook messages and the camera shutter since it doesn't seem to be affected by changing any sounds except for silent mode.
nice app
:good:
Great app. Any plans for releasing it in Play store?
Allow me to introduce my app here:
<<I created my apps mainly based on "C"onvenience and "C"ustomization. that's what my app's name "C" stands for>>
C Notice:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ccs.notice&ah=dTx4mbmLYrMc6lw9MjuDlXRLp7A
Receive floating notifications from selected applications and keep track of everything that is important to you, all without needing to access your phone's status bar and directly from the lock screen. Experience a very clean & simple floating window design with a unique colored header display. Upon receiving a new notification C Notice displays a visual reminder of the individual application in the form of a floating icon. All notification icons float on top of any other application and can therefore be accessed and interacted with at any time you want, until dismissed. Make additional use of swipe gestures on icons to trigger quick actions (open, expand, dismiss,...) and interact with notifications of all kind with ease.

really nice app !
But would be nice to have the option : not showing notification over lock screen.....
Hey OP I just got done buying the pro key and leaving you 5* on Play Store...came over here to tell you that I am seriously in love with your app.
It really used to be such a pain in the ass accessing the status bar/notification panel on my OnePlus One, my fingers are not long enough to just swipe it without having to move my whole hand, and your app has solved this problem. Besides that, the ability to see my notifications floating windows without having to open the entire app saves so much time. This is definitely one of my favorite apps so thanks again, and anyone who sees this but has not installed the app yet, go check it out, it's great!!!
(BTW I'm on Mahdi ROM 4.4.4, stock kernel, tons of Xposed modules and scripts running and haven't experienced any compatibility issues w/ this app)

I'm recieving double pop-ups when using Whatsapp. Can it be lollipop maybe?
Love the app, been looking for something with the bubble part of the Halo functions
Been working with it last two weeks or so, found a bug, or what I think is a bug - play store notifications gets auto cleared.
Great app!
Great app, thx a lot! But, is it ok for this app to consume almost 200 Mb of RAM?
Hello. How can i uninstall this app?
In settings i cant tap to uninstall, it has grey color. Thanks

I love this app, I missed halo but liked having MW and PW that stock based Samsung ROMs give and this gives me a halo feel. Could it be possible to have a feature that if you do have Pen Window, when you click the notification the app would open in a pen window? Even if you made it a premium feature I'd pay for that.
I've been using C Notice and C Locker for a few days. Both have great potential, both well worth to buy the premium version.
Focusing on C Notice, it can be a very viable replacement for Floatification. As I've read and experienced, the dev for Floatification is not all that responsive and it's been buggy. Searching for a more capable replacement is what led me to C Notice.
A few requests:
1) Allow the notice/popup to directly delete (for example, Gmail) messages, and directly reply on those apps that have those functions in the notification bar.
2) Have a separate setting for timeout for lockscreen and unlocked. This is how I want to use it: Lockscreen--the display DOES NOT turn on automatically, but when I turn on the screen, I want to see the notifications. After a period, I want the notification to timeout and go away--this is so that the screen will automatically turn off. As you know, if C Notice stays on the lock screen, the display won't turn off. This is useful if I bumped my phone and the screen turned on. This way, it will turn off automatically after a few seconds.
While I am using the phone--I want C Notice to appear and not timeout until I act on it. When I am in the application that initiated the notification, though, I do not want C Notice to pop up (very simlar to a function available in Floatification).
If the above two are implemented, C Notice can completely replace Floatification.
3) For future consideration--to allow seperate Gmail and Hangouts notification--allow the selection of specific Gmail accounts and lables and specific Hangouts accounts for notification.
I'd gladly pay several times the current premium price....
Thanks for your work.
I had C Notice on my Samsung 3 and, so I thought, it would ring back at set times for reminders that I had not dismissed. Now, in my Note 5 I cannot find the option. Have I lost my mind?
How do I Uninstall c notice
Can You make the same style of round notification i cnotice as in the clocker? Now on cloker I can watch a preview of sms email etc. and have the contact photo on notify icon. On cnotice I have the number of unread notifications but not on cloker.
Please make same options in both of Your apps.
Is it possible to enable/disable this app from for example Tasker?
Regards Peter
Could you add quick reply feature like in Floatify?

I was trying to change my twitter notification sound but I can't find it anymore. I had previously uploaded a twitter tweet but I wanted to change it to a softer sound effect. Does anyone know where I go to change it.
I have a Pixel 2 that is totally stock and kept to current spec. with regular updates. I'm using the Official Twitter app.
Regards and thanks in advance.

Hi guys, and thank you for all of the informative posts in this forum. I recently traded my 4a for a Flip 3, and find myself really missing so many elements of the pure Android 11 experience. Any advice on how to get a little functionality back?
- Multitasking pane behavior: the window switcher button automatically flips to the previous app instead of just bringing up the app tray. Additionally, my beloved Screenshot and Select tray buttons are gone - I just started getting used to using the picture copy functionality.
- Dialer: I installed the Google Phone app and have it set as my default calling app, but incoming calls still don't have the Decline / Screen / Accept red/blue/green buttons.
- Settings shade menu: I'd like the brightness control to appear at the very top of the pulldown. Really, I just want stock Android everywhere.
- App tray: flick up to get to your apps, but then have to flick sideways to page through them? Ridiculous.
Any advice would be appreciated. I hate the idea of bloating my phone with a ton of apps to customize the experience, but it seems like there's no way to run a stock Android launcher in place of OneUI.
You could try Good Lock on Galaxy store.

Only works on Pixel phones: exclusive feature.
Don't want to come across as a jack ass but sounds like you need to switch back to pixel phones. Or like one other person said try good luck from Samsung store.

Give some of the Samsung features a try. You are talking the difference of a single click to return to the previous app and there are only about 10 ways to take a screenshot, ranging from gestures to keys.

There are 1000 custom apps for this stuff, but you only need one of each. Once you find ones you are satisfied with, it's not incredibly hard to hide the stock ones away and forget they exist

Pull down your notification bar. Now pull it down all the way. Hit the three dots in the upper right. Click quick panel layout. Slide the option to do this to the enabled state.

If you want a truly stock experience, unlock the bootloader and build a generic version. Samsung hands you all the tools and instructions.
As for advice, I suggest actually trying the phone before trying to make it a Pixel. It isn't. It never will be. If you prefer Pixel, stick with Pixel.
I have a P6P and Messages looks different firstly with the search bar being all the way at the top and not in the middle of the page and I cannot find some settings that are in Googles Messenger. Specifically, I am trying to change the notification sound to something other than the default sound, so I can know whether I got a text or an email without looking at the phone.
Anyone have ideas?
Samsung has a custom version of Google Messages that adheres to OneUI design guidelines, the goal being to make the elements at the top easier to reach with one hand by default. You should be able to get the other app by installing the APK manually, but I'm not sure if that will work with Google Messages now being a system app.
I know it stinks but in messages you can go into each contact to change the notification sound. I did about 30 and it didn't take too long.
open a contact and hit the 3 dots
hit details
hit notifications
hit sound
I think the worst part is the teal message bubble color and it not respecting the Samsung theme colors.

Go to settings, apps, messages, notifications, notification categories. Pick incoming or whatever and you can pick a sound for the whole app. I literally just found this myself. I'm also coming from a P6P. Sammy definitely made this way harder than it needed to be.

Thanks - it worked for me too
I was able to replace it with the normal version of Messages that I downloaded from apkmirror, but I had to uninstall the updates from the playstore first. Otherwise it detected I was trying to install the same version and wouldn't install.
It was great as I finally had iphone reactions. However, the playstore updated it back to the Samsung version. Ugh. Small differences but I hate the sammy version and once again lost iphone reactions.
