HTC Butterfly Forum - HTC Butterfly

It is very disappointing to see that we are not having any development activity for our device...
If you look at other old devices are tasting kitkat...eventhough this device has all the necessary hardware to take anything we are not seeing anything...
We got sense5 well before the droid DNA but they will get kitkat in q1 2014 but no news for us...
I think the forum administrators need to move this forum to less activity or old phones section...
I lost confidence and will trade off this phone to z1 or g2 or nexus 5....

Even without a lot of Roms I'm still good with the phone though. But will change to an iPhone end of next year probably so that my Dad can contact me easily. Definitely love this phone. Still havin issues with the GPE ROM?

I too love the phone and enjoy it each day...Yes i have issues with GPE ROM...I am not sure whats wrong..I am trying everyother option get it work...

Bro, the dev is not as easy for Butterfly.
I tried improving on GPE, failed.
There is something hidden from HTC thats creating booting issues with GPE and AOSP based ROMs.
Still we are trying.

I can understand dude...I am not complaining...I am little jealous because my wife has Xperia neo v and it is now 2 yrs old...even that phone is now tasting kitkat...:''(

Welcome!
I recently received my One S as well. I love it!
I, too, am going to avoid rooting. But nonetheless, it is still an amazing device I'm sure I'll be using for a long time.
Welcome!
My satisfaction with custom Roms is greater than my desire to keep my warranty. jajaja!
Hope you enjoy the Device!
Guys I just noticed it gets heated very much on charging the battery temperature is 45.7 Celsius ..
Any help ?

I just bought a 'broken' tmo one s on eBay... (got it for $75) because it was stuck in a boot loop. Fixed it, now debating on keeping the one s or my galaxy nexus. The one s is very appealing because it's smaller & would have tmo WiFi calling. Does WiFi calling work on custom Roms? On my old glacier it did, but not sure about this device...

Wifi calling is now integrated into the Sense framework, so only works with Sense ROMs (there are several custom). I also had a Glacier and wonder if you still have it, can you extract the wifi calling apk and post for those of us on AOSP ROMs to try?

Recommend new phone to me please :)

you can check HTC DESIRE X to see how is it
If you're looking for a phone that is not much different in size, and not expensive, I'm liking my HTC one v so far. But, it's been only 2 days. The stock Rom is ics 4.0.3 and it has beats audio. I'm so tempted to root it. Lol

It is also not available in many countries. Besides that there are different versions of the phone. I think as soon as it becomes more wide spread among different countries this forum will be more alive. I can also buy the small new flagship of HTC but i prefer a bigger screen and a SD-slot over some option and good speakers. I think probably more HTC customers will agree with me...........
If custom ROM's become available that would be great, if not i just can be happy with Sense 5 and all the other great features this phone has.
As far as I can see, the butterfly died when the htc one got announced. I really do wish it could pick up but not looking like a bright future.
I understand your statement but dont agree.......

S4, Note II, or HTC One?

Hey guys,
So I had my Skyrocket now for some time (still love it), AT&T just came out with an offer where you can get pretty much any of their phones $199 and below for 50% off. So S4, Note2 and HTC One are only $100, not bad right?!?!
Now the question is if you guys could pick which one would you guys for and why? I like all 3, size is not an issue. Hope I could get some feedback to make a choice. Thanks.
Probably should have stuck this in the next phone thread but wouldn't the note2 be 150 since its 300? Unless it dropped in price. Personally tho, I'd say s4. I'm sure spitfire will stop in and say get the One because its the most amazing phone in the world . But really, go with what suits your needs. Or if you still dig the rocket and it does what you need, save your money.

Totally sorry, did not see the next phone thread.
The Note 2 is $199 on AT&T. So it will be $100. The only thing I really like about the Note 2 is the battery life.
So it's basically between the HTC One and S4.
I would be getting it as a bday gift, so I'm lucky in this situation.

If it's gonna be the same software, why would you go with plastic over aluminum? Plus ours will be cross-flashable with sense and vanilla and the s4 wont be.

Why would you want a 4 Megapixel camera that is no longer software optimized for it (by HTC's proprietary software)? That said, the S4 does feel pretty flimsy and fragile, in my limited experience with it.
Man, I called that.. Lol

HTC is gonna utilize the "ultrapixels" in the Google edition. Also it's gonna have beats.

At the end of the day Samsung's always have a better Dev following, how important that is is up to u.
I will again greatly endorse the S4, especially Dev edition if u can spring for it.
Yeah, I really like the HTC One A LOT! The only thing is that I know the Devs for Samsung are amazing, just look at our Skyrockets still being able to stick around with the S3/4. I dont know how the HTC One Devs will be, I havent really gone around their Forums yet.
However, I'm sure they have to be a few great Devs there working on it, esp with vanilla Android coming out for the HTC One coming out.
Thank you guys for your inputs, helped me think of some important factors that I missed out on.
The devs are great over there. They love the device and there is a nice selection of good roms over there.

That's because the epic 4g was very easy to work with.. I had a successfully booted miui with a dirty dirty port via swapping basic necessities with miui for the fascinate.
I am very surprised at the lack of attention..

Im looking on the bright side- sense has grown on me, it at least has jb, it looks sweet, and has a great camera :good:
