Hello guys,
first time here I am glad to be a new owner of Htc Polaris but my problem is this :
my network is 3.5 not 3 and they say I cant use their sim with my phone is this true?
currently I have an old phone of my vendor which is cdma so that's why I cant test their sim.
Do u think there is a way of patching my phone so I could use it?
So what about 3.5 G?
Phone will use as much as it can, even if it's only 2 G.
BTW, I often have "H" mark on my phone - should stay for HSDPA
I'm a newbee on this forum so don't shoot me if this post is on the wrong place or not totaly correct
I flashed the Gthrill V3.0 Rom on my Jiayu G3.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163707
This is a very good and stable rom but I've got one issue. (the FC of the clock isn't a problem for me)
When I place my sim in slot 2 everything works well but I've only got EDGE internet and I can't change the Network mode under settings. It's in dark text.
When I place my sim in slot 1 I can chose the network mode under settings and I have 3G or HSDPA internet connection.
The problem is like with the stock rom that when you place only one sim you have to place it in slot 2 or else the network connection failes after a while.
Does someone know a solution so I can set network mode when the sim is in slot 2?
Thanks in advance
Nobody who can help me

Doesn't anyone know a solution?
I switched back to the stock rom because it's not fine surfing on EDGE speed.

I have same problem.
A month or so ago I started to get only EDGE signal from my carrier wherever I went , every time, I've been over a month trying every solution and nothing has worked, here's details of my findings and what I've done.
1) I tried to go back to stock firmware, didn't work.
2)I tried flashing different radios from the XDA thread, nothing.
3) I called my carrier and did some tests, checked the APNs and the phone network config, everything was ok and still not working.
4) I tried my girlfriends SIM(from the same carrier) and same result, no H signal anywhere.
5) I opneded the freaking phones back to check the MIMO antenna and it seems alright.
6) I went to another carriers shop and tried their SIM, and boom it worked with H just fine.
I'm very curious on what the probke. May be, I should point out that my carrier uses the 1900mhz band for HSPA, while the other carrier uses the 900mhz band for HSPA, so, somehow the phone isn't able to connect to the 1900 band, but it does connect to the 900 band with no issues, how in hell is this possible? It worked just fine for 3 months until now...
I am overseas so I cannot ask for a replacement from Google, also I don't wanna sell the phone to get another one, and I don't wanna have to switch carriers , I've been with this one for years and I have a great plan and I have tons of services tied to this number, I do t wanna go thru the hassle of changing everything.
So, any recommendations, any technical help? Ideas? Please let me know I really think this is a software issue and I wanna get it fixed!

Clearly two things are possible,
1- You messed up by flashing different radio bands, lesslikely.
2- The 1900 band in your phone antenna is damaged, you better do a replacement, i am sure in this one.

1) I didn't flash any radios until the problem was already there.
2) where am I supposed to find a replacement?
3) tried all solutions in that post, no luck.

But u didn't test ur SIM-card on another Nexus5
If ur sim on another n5 works fine so ur sim-card is ok
but ur phone with another sim-card also works fine
so this is between ur sim-card and ur phone
a compatibility or any damage on sim-card and ... caused these issues
This is not because of ur phone
ur phone hardware and software are fine ur must check operator & etc.
maybe ur operator is not compatible 100% for n5 or KK 4.4.2 !
:good:

downgrade to 4.4 !!!
best way;
unlock > root > custom recovery > multiRom > then install any ROM u like, for example stock 4.4
or 4.4 based release of CM

As I said, my connection was working fine for weeks with 4.4.2 , hence it is not the cause of the problem, switching it to 4.4 won't make any difference

This might sound silly, but you made sure you're not forcing 2G/edge mode, right? Have you tried forcing 3g (WCDMA only) mode from this menu?

Switched from Nexus 4 to Nexus 5 have the same problem.
I found myself having a very similar problem after flashing CM12 on my nexus 5 (D821). I flashed the 20 jan Nightly and everything was working fine untill i update to the 22nd jan nightly when my 3g simply stopped connecting or had very spotty signal, i didn't give it much thought at first thinking it was a nightly problem but after one week i reflashed stock ics, locked the bootloader, event tried kit-kat and the problem is still there. Before flashing cm 12 2g/3g/lte switching was working perfectly for about one year.
So utill now: i flashed different stock rom's, different kernels, radios, custom roms and nothing worked. When i tried switching the sim with another one from the same network, 3g worked on the other phone so i doubt that the sim is defective, but on my nexus i had the same connectivity issues. I also played with the *#*#4636#*#* menu and managed to get 4G working again but only in CDMA mode and I cannot receive any calls or texts, but the internet connection is working, 3G also connected at some point but the signal was very poor.
I am lost now, and also desperate because edge is too slow for anything, what confuses me though is that this seems to be a software issue since the cause was me flashing a different ROM but all the signs point to a hardware issue.
Can anyone plese give me a second opinion? Is there any fix for this? (Also i recently went to my network's service to replace my screen assembly, could also this be an issue? the issue appeared about 2 days after getting it back from them, also about the same time i flashed cm12)
Thank you for your time.
Hey guys , I just bought a nexus 5 and a new T-Mobile sim card .I can only connect to edge and no matter what I do I cannot connect to 3G or LTE I have done everything I can think of and I even called T-Mobile and they gave me APN settings but the problem still persists .. I tried updating to marshmallow 6.0.1 and the problem still persists even though the signal has become fairly stronger . I appreciate any help
Hello guys
A week ago, an interesting problem started popping up.At work, my mobile data suddenly started to disappear from 4G to H+ from 1:00 to 6:00.After 6:01 comes 4G back. Then it works 4G normally during the day until 1:00.Then is the same data drop from 4g to H+.
Until a week ago, 4g worked for me without a problem.I don't know what else to do. I tried practically everything.
I have a Bootleggers ROM
Here's a list of what I've tried but it still doesn't work
I call my provider and all setting on my phone are o.k
I put my sim card in the phone from a coworker who has the same provider -4G works
i put his card in my phone -same provider-4G does not work
i reset the APN settings and copy them from a co-worker-4G does not work
I reset the rom-4G does not work
I installed new rom-lineage 16-4G does not work
Then i said i will delete everything and return my OPO to 100% stock.I wait until 1:00 and here we go again data drop agai to H+
What the hell is going on with my phone.I no longer have any idea. Obviously I'll have to buy a new phone
Thank you guys for any help

From what you wrote, I suppose you did tests within the same BTS.
The mast operator has the ability to change signal parameters over specific periods of time. It looks like your phone can't cope with this madness of change and, for example, makes the wrong choice of another mast in the area. Check which mast you are connected to in the time periods described. You can use LTE Discovery or OpenSignal.
Move the phone out of range of this station and repeat the check.
If it works well elsewhere, then you have the basis to file a complaint with your network operator.
You are right reason is the network provider. But it took some time before they admitted
The network provider shuts down some LTE frequencies that this phone supports between 1.00 and 6.00.
As a reason, they said that these frequencies are used by few users and that they save electricity at night. So I have two solutions, going to another provider or buy a new phone.
So I decided to buy a new phone. And that will be oneplus 7 pro.I hope to get it another week.
Well my oneplus 7 pro has arrived. And the 4g network is now working normally.
Thank you to all of you who have helped me in these years in solving problems
