[Q] CyanogenMod 10.2 Stable Release. - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, I need some help! My GT-P3113 which is running stock 4.1.1 rooted, has a problem with WiFi. I checked the modem, network settings but nothing happened. So I wiped data and cache with C.W.M. I booted up succesfully on 4.1.1 (from the beginning), and I followed the usual process:
Choose your country - date and time - add Samsung account (I skipped it) - add Gmail account (ERROR,ERROR,ERROR).
So I thought that I have to flash a custom ROM in order to get my tablet fixed.(not to mention that custom ROMS are better than stocks). I thought of CM 10.2 but I noticed that for GT-P31XX devices, everyone is flashing a nightly and not a stable release of 10.2 . And I would like to ask you, what would happened if I flashed the CyanogenMod 10.2 stable. If it's not bad, can someone tell me how to install it?
A huge thanks to everyone

Stable that's mean it can be use for daily use and have less bugs, maybe there's no bugs
but , i'm not sure if cm10.2 is exist, you can check it on cyanogenmod sites
for instal it, you have to rooted your phone and have installed cwm recovery for instal the rom

CM10.2 Stable not exist for Galaxy Tab 2 at the moment, but the nightlys are much stable.
Maybe take a look on SlimBean 4.3.1 Stable 2.2 - i love it
Single-Step to get a Custom-Recovery and Root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2510669

@dimsar2013
Don't worry about "stable", it is just a label. CM10.2 nightly builds for Tab 2 are already very stable, I use one from October 17th and it is bug-free.

Slimbean 4.3 Stable 2.2 is awesome!!! The device runs very smoothly and the battery life is so big!!!!! It is an amazing ROM. Way more better than the Stock TouchWiz themed ROM.

SlimBean thread closed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2430783
so in the past week or so ive seen someone take my ROM, create a thread and released as his own. today i see another cat kang the $hit out of my device trees, and claim "me only" in credits, da fuq?
that was the straw that broke the Tab 2's back, for me anyway

Samsung galaxy s plus - Installing new custom rom question

Hello members,
First of all I'm new here and my English can be a bit bad, sorry for that.
My question is probably already asked but I couldn't find it, a link to the thread will be helpful.
So what is the problem?
I want to install a custom rom but I don't really know how to do it.
First of all:
- I have an Samsung Galaxy S Plus.
- I want a Custom rom that is working properly and bug free for 99.9%
- I am not an complete noob, I know how to flash with Odin, Root my phone, etc. etc.
I have already done some research, but must I do a Hard Reset to install a new rom? Can I get my applications and personal settings back? (I made a back up) How do I get it back?
Which Custom rom's are almost bug free?
-Broodrom Rc5?
-Cranium Rc9?
- Others?
Thank you for helping me:good:,
At-
PS: Again sorry for the bad grammar.

Hi my friend. I also own a i9001.
1. There are some different kinds of roms. do you like Cyannomgen or Aokp based rom for 4.0.4 or a gingerbread rom (2.3.6) with launchers and kernels with overclock or underlock.
2. Gigabread is the best rom for me. It is 2.3.6. and it has every rom's best specs.
3. untill now has released CM9 build 7 and CM9 beta 2 by ivendor wich are very smooth and have fixed camera bugs ( not everything)
I dont like 2.3.6.custom roms with ics launcher because i think that they are heavy for our device and eat a lot of Ram memory....

I like both Cynagen and Aokp. I also like a rom based on 4.0.4 more than 2.3.6.
Can you tell me more about the different rom's and how to install them?
Every version of 4.0.4. is based on CM9 or aokp, but dev have put their own changes. And when there is a new version of cm9 or aokp they update their roms. If u want a rom based on i9300 I strongly recomend you Rem-ICS, a different 4.0.4 Paranoid. There are and some others roms, whicj I have not tried, but only minnor differences there are. Paranoid and Rem thre are th most famous and on other devices.
However there are a lot of option on Roms. Check them out at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1270
Installation of cm9 or aokp rom.
1. You will need custom recovery for cm9: twrp or CMW5 or CMW6
2. Wipe data and cache.
3. Flash update*.zip.
4. Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM9 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
5. Reboot phone.
6. After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
Don't use titan back up.

Fist of all, read the wiki:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S_Plus/GT-I9001
Then you have to install a custom recovery, you can follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1776095
With this urls u will understand how dev is working. Inspite of the fact that they are for gingerbread they are very usesful for a beginer..
But cynomgen is very is to instal and to use..

I can really really recommend the CM9 ICS ROMs by arco and ivendor. Check their respective threads to see if the remaining bugs affect you and if they don't or hardly do use these versions instead of modded stock ROM.
I currently have arco's Alpha 7 installed and it's so much better than the Gingerbread Samsung firmwares, even the debloated ones.
I agree with you. I think that only gigabread is the best modifited 2.3.6. The others 2.3.6 use launchers like halo, go and I think that they are lagy.. So try a 4.0.4 and since the last edition of cm9 only fm radio is not working. Usb tethering is improved and 80% of camera is working...
However a bug is battery life, and if you use a lot wifi and 3g it will drain a lot of battery

Thank you guys, i'm going to install cm9!
Edit: What are the difference between cm 7.2 and 9? I can't see any differences on videos.
Cm 7.2 is stock based?
Cm9 is based on 4.0.4 and cm7 is based on 2.3.7. Install cm9.not cm7...

Cannot flash new kernels!

I am running cyanogenmod10.1 on my galaxy s2. It is a wild for the night (nightly unofficial ROM) with 4.2.2 jelly bean build. I love the new ROM but can't believe the stock cyanogenmod kernel can't be over clocked. Anyways I've been looking at kernels that support 4.2.2 and tried to flash lean kernel(and a couple others) in recovery mode. It does a couple things in recovery then says install complete but when I reboot I still have stock cm10.1 kernel! Can somebody please help and I am also open to suggestions for kernels because I want one that runs like the one I have but can be OC'd. THANK YOU!

Yea I wiped both but I wanted to have it to maybe save battery at times(like the lean kernel
) where i can OC at other times. But im starting to think they were bad kernel downloads because i flashed dream kernel and it worked. The site said it supports both JB and ICS but an ICS screen came up in recovery and would not allow reboot or restore to CM10 so I restored to origional s2 rom(running ICS) then reflashed rom and Gapps then restored to CM10 backup so at least I got to where I started XD but thanks

help with flashing cm 10.1

soo i have baked bean rom on my tab right now witch is a unoffical cm10.1 i think and i havent updated it in a long time so i think i should switch to cyangenmod. now i looked at cm10.2 on xda first and i noticed jb bootloaders that you would have to flash with odin, i dont know how to do this, for cm 10.1 should i just have to flash the stable zip and gapps??
I am running the stable release of CyanogenMod 10.1.2_p3100
I downloaded the .zip file and gapps for 4.2.2 and pasted both to my sdcard.
Then I went to CMW mode
cleared the cache, files of previous ROM
flashed the CM10.1.2 stable release for p3100 zip
after that again I flashed the gapps for 4.2.2 zip
and rebooted my device. Now my tab is running it perfectly.
Procedure is same, Be sure to download the correct zip for the correct model number (mine is p3100) and the gapps for 4.3 (because cm10.2 is running 4.3)
You can browse gapps by below link

If you're coming from Jellybean, there's no need to flash JB bootloaders prior to flashing CM 10.1 or 10.2.

ok thanks xD just recently I got my hands on a galaxy s cappy and in order to get gingerbread and up roms I had to flash gingerbread bootloaders, if I didn't it would screw up the phone so I thought this was the same way with my tab.

10.1 is JB that is why you don't need to flash the JB Booloader for flashing 10.2 which is also JB.

[Q] Galaxy Note 10.1 GT-N8010 JB 4.3/4.4 ?? Root?

As topic says
I am a Tab2 user but i got this yesterday and i really need the JB 4.3 .
I just hate Samsung stock bloat rom. Is there any custom alternative to my Note GT-N8010?
Also is there any way to root this device?
I think i found a guide but i ask the professionals here instead of guessing
Thanks guys/Girls!
There are plenty of roms and ways to be rooted, you should check the whole android dev. Forum before oppening a new topic asking for something that is already there...
Well is i said im not sure what i can use or not. I do not want to damage my tablet and therefor i ask the guys who knows what rom i can use with my GT-N8010 32GB
Most of the roms i have been looking at doesn't say if it is for my device or the other 8xxx devices. I have root but i want a new fast rom (4.3-4.4) with working s-pen and IR
i ask because i do not want to make a mistake :/ Also looking for a good Kernel!
I am looking for
*Rom thats fast with no bloat (4.3/4.4) working with GT-N8010 32GB
*A nice Kernel with over clock possibility working with GT-N8010 32GB

Well, I have a n8010 too, and we dont have a 4.4 rom yet, I tried Omnirom but wasnt able to install it. 4.3.1 rom is the CyanogenMod 10.2 , you can check official CM page and look for the n8013 model it should work just fine and it comes preloaded with a good kernel, but the rom is so fast fhat you wont need any OC, after thst you got Android Revolution HD and Hyperdrive, I am currently on hyperdrive (4.2.1) and sweet lord is FAST it comes with bloat only if Uwant it and all the spen funcionalities, Oh yeah..also CM10.2 doesnt come with all the spen funcionalities but the pressure sensitivity is the same.. (but you dont have snote and the realtime cropping option etc, those come with touchwiz.... My re omendation?.. Hyperdrive. Next one would be CM10.2 both are really awesome (for me) but one is AOSP and the other is touchwiz
Thank you very much! Will take a look at CM10.2 as i didnt get the Wifi working on Hyper.....

For making wi fi work on hyperdrive you must change the wifi channel of your router, I have it on automatic and its great

Concerning hyperdrive i had the same problem some time ago. maybe try one of the solutions here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2296669
They did work back then, but i don't know if they still do.
For me (almost) all roms for the n8013 were/are working fine on the n8010.
If you have problems, try to flash latest version of Philz recovery(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2202714) for 8013 !!! with odin.
for rooting methods 2 and 3 should do from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2080366.
an odin alternative http://www.xda-developers.com/android/meet-jodin3-a-web-tool-that-flashes-your-samsung-device/
4.3 rom -> maybe http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2151873
4.4 -> omni
I'm loving omnibus on my 8010. I had to install the 8013 recovery to get it working but official omnirom builds are imminent and should support the 8010 directly.
The rom is fast, sleek, no real issues I can see, excellent power usage. Loving it

go with [4.4.2] OmniROM instead...
Although I did try Hyperdrive, I wasn't too impressed & Pacman was better, as I have been on 4.1.2 since day one & finally made the switch. I skipped over 4.2/4.3 & decided to go with the [[UNOFFICIAL Kit-Kat]] omniROM 4.4.2 on mine for the meantime. I am very much impressed, only issue I have found so far, is the 'Swype' feature isn't working, but other than that, its stellar thus far. I would highly recommend this rom for your tablet, until something 'new comes along... Maybe a Jedi X-Master ROM for our Note10.1's!!!
OmniROM 4.4 Does work for Galaxy Note 801x
One catch about OmniROM, it doesn't have a root built-in, so don't forget to root your device after you install the new ROM.
So to install, make sure you have CWM 6.0.4.4 (aka Philz Touch) or TWRP 2.6.3.1 as your recovery, and then go from there. The newest Roms are located on the OmniROM website now, and N801x is included. Get the gapps for Android 4.4, install after you install the ROM. Install the root after all that.
It's easy to install, and easy to use. I have been using Omni for about a month now, and it runs great. I just wish Samsung would've had enough sense to update all their models with this version of Android.

First install a custom recovery, the one I have found to work best is Philz Touch. You can do a search and find the link for it here in XDA. It's good because as I have noted before, OmniROM does not come rooted. Philz Touch has to be the easiest recovery I have ever used to install root, and you may want to do it several times because there are nightlies for the ROM.
As for the ROM, go to dl.omnirom.org and go to the folder for 'n801x'
Once you get the zip file downloaded, copy it to your SD card, install the recovery, and then install the ROM
Oh, don't forget, make sure you also get gapps for Android 4.4 on your SD card before doing this. Pointless to have a ROM with no gapps install.
Let me know if you have any problems.
Good luck

[Q] Old Version of CM - How to Update?

My G2 broke last week and I am using this Galaxy S3 until my G2 gets repaired.
It is currently running a VERY old version of CyanogenMod - CM10.1 20130713 EXPERIMENTAL version and ClockworkMod Recovery V6.0.3.1 which I know is quite old version.
I was wondering what steps I need to take to get this phone running a 4.4.x ROM? What should I flash first? Also any recommendations on 4.4.x ROMs - AOSP vs. TouchWiz?
Thanks in advance.

My recommendation would be to update ClockworkMod Recovery first. I think they're on to version 6.0.4.5 now, not sure though since I'm using TWRP instead.
In regards to choosing a ROM I think that depends on what you're into. Since you're already running CyanogenMod and you want 4.4 then you should probably take a look at CM11. I had mobile network/signal problems using the "Official" build so I'm using a Mastamoon unofficial build, it works great. Search for: cm-11-20140709-unofficial-mastamoon-d2lte.zip

Do I need to flash anything before going to a CM11 ROM from CM10?
I see in a lot of ROM threads about locked bootloader or certain baseband, etc.
Any advice on that? Anything I should be weary about?

Yeah you should probably upgrade to MF1. There is a link to it on the page for that particular ROM i had recommended. I don't think a locked bootloader will be an issue at this point since you've already got CM10 on there.
