You should not be comparing kernels or roms. If you want to see which one is better, use both of them and you'll get to know.
Regards,
Ishaan
ya ur rite.dont compare them.both r best.it depends on users.which kernel is best for u,u will only know it by using them
close this thread asap
Please stop comparing anything on xda specially "vs" if you want to know whats better flash and check youself..
Post has been brought to moderators' notice.
Thread would be closed!
Comparison threads are not allowed on XDA. Please show some respect towards the developers who bring you these kernels and do not compare them on the forums.

Hi.
I'm just a consumer of the great roms on this forum.
I'm really grateful for all the hard work that allow me to get more out of this device.
I was just thinking that maybe instead of having a thread of the performance tests, those performance tests, if they're performed by the devs after they've readied it for release, could post it on the OP. Like updating it with each major release, so the flashers can also get an idea of the performance as they flash them. Danke schon.

Whilst I agree that that sounds like a good idea.
I believe that the developers do enough as it is. We each can assist in our own way and it surely better to let the developers cook, port and develop and the others run the performance tests and compile the results into threads.
Meaning that the developers get more time with which to develop, resulting in a better product for us all!
And more over we can get info on performance of Rom in one thread instead of going thread to thread.....

I agree, I'll make an entry in the INDEX for the existing performance thread.
Time to update my thread I think....
Tapatalked from a Desire S waiting for Kernel 3 sources. WAKE UP HTC!!!!!!
An improvement i want is having only helping comments switched to just thanks, instead of spamming the thread itself owo

^^^This! Ask in the Q&A section of your device you will get much more exposure

This is my favorite "best" ROM/Kernel question. Because it is both at the same time! Please don't ask best ROM, best Kernel, best APP, etc questions. This will always be a personal choice - even for something like battery life, because that will depend on how you use your device.
Try them out for yourself and decide. That is one of the funnest things about xda!

What kernel has been performing the best on the OPO so far? I haven't flashed anything apart from stock yet. I usually use Franco, but thought it might be best to wait for a few more versions to be released first.
Are there any other alternatives?
What one has had better battery life?

What he said there is no best kernel. If you need a list of kernels to use, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52641497&postcount=2 see that post. Good luck, pick the one that best suites you.
Since what's best for your device is purely subjective and we don't encourage competition on this site, "What's the Best...?" type threads are not allowed.
Please try to do your own research. No one here can tell you what's best for you.

The one that works best for you. I would suggest reading the threads in the original development or Android development forums, and pick the one that looks best for you.
This thread should likely be moved to the general or Q&A section, or removed entirely...best rom threads seem to amount to a load of subjectivity.

Actually, they asked what was the "best customizable" rom, which means the rom with the most features capable of customizing to their needs. I don't see why everyone on here has to be so negative towards people that are just looking for help. The answer (given due research) would not be "subjective" because each rom has a certain number of features strictly dealing with customization. This would lead to a very definitive answer. What's the old saying??? If you can't say something nice (in this case helpful would be a more operative word), why say anything at all?
As for an answer to the OP: For kitkat and below, the most customizable one would be PAC rom. Check it out. It's a combination of the features of Paranoid Android, AOKP and Cyanogenmod. I think you may enjoy it for personalization and outstanding battery life due to their tweaked kernel and performance settings.
Micmars didn't want to be offence. He just try to this forum stays as clear as possible. Question has to be moved to Question section.

Still "best" and "ROM" Iin the same sentence always starts up a riot. Most customization within a ROM would have been better to say... Just saying good day people

I agree with "best" but the most customizable custom rom does exist regardless the stability and so on...
What do you think is the best kernel for our loved OPO?
With the best balance between Performance, Smoothness ans Battery Life.
There is no best kernel. Kind of these threads arent allowed.

Hence why there will never be a final answer or conclusion to this thread, which the OP could have read instead of making yet another best rom/kernel thread:
