Really? I did put CM10.2 on my phone, really like it. So I checked your recommendations on the phone. Yeah, just what you said, root adb and applications. My phone is enabled and I never lost root on it. You get a Thanks.
Now how to update to 10.2 on the Tab. CWM only lets you flash one zip at a time where Safe Strap will allow you to stack the rom and gapps. I got CWM Pro and don't see anyway to flash more than one zip at a time and this gave a system 7 error. The update is there in about phone, if I allow unstable and nightlies, but installing it dumps me into recovery. Safe Strap on phone, piece of cake. One zip at a time in ClockworkMod, not so easy. Any ideas?

Awesome. I went into CWM Rom Manager and decided to use TWRP instead of CWM, used the update in Settings/About Phone/Update. It did work! But everything is crashing, I had to install new gapps. So I went back and flashed the new gapps. Problem is, playstore is broke, errors everytime it tries to install or update, would not connect at all until new gapps. Wiped data, still not working right. Others had this problem, any ideas on how to restore playstore functionality? Thanks, you guys rock!
Found the answer here, and it works!
I tried everything form everywhere. Nothing worked until I did this. Following the steps below.
RPC:AEC:0 error is known as CPU/RAM/Device/Identity failure.
Only possible way you can follow to get rid off this error is,
Go to settings ? application ? Play Store ? Clear Data & Clear Cache.
Go to accounts ? Google ? Remove account.
Reboot device.

Hey. First, don't do what I did. I though I may have needed to flash the newest version of CWM to my Optimus T. Don't do it. It was soft bricked, and it was a pain to fix. Second; try updating your SU binary, and downloading the latest SuperUser apk from the browser. I personally haven't tried it (still recovering from brick), but it's said that it is a viable solution. If that doesn't work, your best bet is to download any version of Blackmarket Alpha, open it, and let it update itself. It pretty much has all of the same apps as the Play Store, minus the sleek UI and better sorting we both miss from the store.
Footnote: Gapps may have not flashed the applications themselves, but go to System > Accounts and check to see if Google is an option. That tells you it's atleast half way working. If you can, download the Play Store .apk, and repeat the second thing I told you above.
Best of luck,
Rob

Hello, i also have an LG Optimus One P500 using the same ROM version and gapps don't install either. The browser doesn't work (it starts and right after it closes, if i push the off button to shutdown the screen and then i reopen it, it does not lock. Anyway, this problem appears only with build 5 version. I hope someone/somebody will fix it, till then i'll stick with build 4. Thank you for your time.
Which gapps pkg did you use?

Did you use the smaller version of gapps or the Generic one? One of the problems with 4.x is that it's so big there isn't room for all the Google apps. If you used the 88MB version then try the gapps-jb-light-20120804-signed.zip version (55MB) and see if that one works. I saw several Optimus V folks with the same issue and using a chopped down version worked for them. The problem is that there isn't enough internal storage for both the ROM and the full gapps package.

Worked fantastically for me! Thanks for this tip. My GNex already updated, but I wonder if this "trick" would work on them?
This worked fine for me. I swype still works and cerberus appear to still work. When I adb shell and typed su nothing happen - just froze. So I used Voodoo OTA rootkeeper and restored SU and after that I can get a root prompt again. I'll have to play around a bit to make sure it's all working right, but I encountered no errors installing this way.
Edit: My TWRP looks like it was blown away. When I reboot into recovery I just get the android with the open belly and a big red ! in a triangle - nothing else, no options to enter recovery etc.
Edit 2: Using Wug's toolkit to reflash just recovery with the latest included TWRP, I think it's 2.3.1.1. Flash went fine, tried to reboot into recovery and same problem. Now I have no stock recovery nor TWRP
Edit3: Flashed the latest CWM touch (6.01.0) by hand and it seems to work! Guess I'm back to being a CWM user.

You could just install goo manager and have it flash TWRP. Or you could flash it using fastboot.

It works for me as well. As what others said, you have to keep on trying. I tried a few times this morning and it didn't work. Finally, I got it upgraded in half an hour ago.
Same here, after several attempts this didn't work, however swapping steps 3 and 4 it worked first time. Maybe just a coincidence?
the trick worked after around 7 attempts, I also interchanged steps 4 and 3... thanks
Thanks, work for me ))))))

Using Cyanogen Mod (Question)

Hey Everyone,
Alright, I know this is a noob move, but I didn't backup my google apps or anything like that. I used the Settings -> About Phone -> CyanogenMod Update and installed cm-10.1.0.3. I thought it was some automated love machine, and everything would come out alright. But I lost my Gapps. Now I have the latest gapps for my phone. But I cannot get Rom Manager to install and I cannot reboot into any kind of recovery mode.
Would love some help, thank you all so much!

adb reboot recovery
or
enable the advanced reboot settings in the developer settings menu item.
To do that, you'll need to enable the developer settings by going to Settings->About Phone and clicking the build number 7 times.

I really love CM, but the bluetooth issue is killing me since I use bluetooth everyday. Anyone tried to go back to TW based ROM after CM? Should I do anything special to get around the profiles/SDCARD 0 created by 4.2.2 or just flash normally?

I would just wipe and flash like normal, then after you're all done move the files u want to keep out of the "0" folder. I read somewhere that you can safely do that. So just keep what u want and delete the rest. That's how I would go about doing it. Might want to try the PAC ROM. Don't know if the BT thing is fixed. Prolly not since it's cm based.

[Q] CM update aborting

I got a Nexus 5 been using CM on it for a while now. Currently i have 11-20140708-SNAPSHOT-M8
the build date is july 8. I've been getting CM update for a new version for like a month now, tried installing it a couple of times, when i press to reboot and install it says it installed it, and after the phone reboots, it's still the same old version, and i keep getting the notification to upgrade, but i can't.
So I waited for another new build, thinking this is just some bug in the update. Yesterday a new version prompted for a update, but the same happened. So i tried to download the zip from CM website and flash it on recovery manually. And i got an error:
Can't install this package on top of incompatible data. (Status 7) installation aborted.
I used to update with no problems, but I seem to be stuck on the july 8 build.
Anyone else dealing with this, or know how to fix this?
Is your bootoader up-to-date? CM often require you to have latest bootloader
No. I haven't upgraded it. I've found multiple threats about it, I'm not sure which one is the right to do so. As i'm not really familiar with this kind of stuff.
EDIT: My BL version is HHZ11K. From what i gathered it's the most recent one.

Sounds like you're dirty flashing but something in your current set up has been corrupted. You may need to factory reset or do a clean install.

Was thinking if I can salve the problem without doing that. But i did a factory reset and it fixed the problem.

problems updating monthly snapshots of CM
Hi, I have been looking everywhere to see why I am having difficulties updating Cyanogen snapshots every month. I found this post but I don't really know if it pertains to my problem. I have a google rooted nexus 5 and every month when I try to update my phone begins acting up. It starts saying unfortunately google play services has stopped working. I see my apps trying to install but all I get are error notification icons at the top and they won't download. I posted on g+ and someone says it has to do with titanium. Im at a loss. Its very frustrating as I've tried almost everything I can think of to no avail. I try to go to the playstore and it's like I have no connection. I do have and use titanium backup for the apps I want to restore. I spoke to someone that has the same phone and he tells me to just flash the update without wiping but it doesn't work for me. I don't know if its a setting I'm missing on titanium or what it is but it sucks. With the 2 last updates this has happened. Leaving me with no option but to download the CM snapshot along with gapps. Wipe my phone and flash both the snapshot and gapps and start from scratch. I hope you can help me. Hopefully I'm in the right place. Tx you

So here is what i would try to do. reboot into recovery. do a factory reset, make sure you backup your files as this cleans them. And then make the update from the updater or download it manually from cm website.

Almost what I did, i l always do a nandroid backup before flashing anything in recovery, I downloaded the snapshot and the gapps, wiped, and installed snapshots along with gapps. So your telling me to just do a backup in recovery before updating that it cleans my files, then without wiping to try to update just the CM update from either my phone or their website? No gapps? Will try next time thanks.

nexus unroots when i update

hello everyone, i have a nexus five running cyanogenmod 12.1 and 20150529-nightly-hammerhead android version 5.1.1 with TWrp v2.8.6.1
as of yesterday i had it finding the updates for nightlies everyday. and i was updating it when i would download them. and i found that everytime i would update id lose the root. i tested this the following day. rerooting with the nexus root toolkit, then updating and found i had no root. so i rerooted and havent updated again. is there a reason why it would unroot? thanks in advanced guys!!!
1) Delete the Nexus toolkit, don't ever use it again.
2) Flash the most recent nightly.
3) Go to settings ---> developer options and enable root access.
4) Optional: download SuperSU from the Play Store.
Why is nexus tool kit bad? So should I flash nightly first then enable root or enable then flash? Its giving me apps only, adb only and then allow for both. What do I choose?

For one thing, CM isn't meant to be rooted, root access is implemented via Privacy Guard, so whatever changes NRT made are erased every time you flash the ROM.
reroot...
Rerooting wasn't done with nexus tool kit. Initially yes, for the first time. I rerouted, or atleast thought I rerooted via twrp. I guess I was wrong. But either you helped me solve the issue and I really appreciate it.
I have a different one...the one that helped me figure I wasn't rooted. Google play store keeps crashing. Giving me that error "unfortunately, google play store has stopped" what could be causing this. I've rebooted, cleared cache, cleared data, force stopped and still. I've reinstalled the gapps..and still. Any ideas? Thank you such!!

Which Gapps package are you using? From what I gather, some Gapps packages don't play well with CM 12.1. Try this Gapps package, it's CM official.
