noice, now I can finally check out that new cm updater I've heard so much about...
hi,
I have installed CM 10.1 nightly build on my Nexus s. It works find for me no issues as yet seen. But I wnat to know if the M Snapshots release is muchh better that the Nightlies. Is it okay to upgrage to M Snapshot ROM (Mostly stable is what i have heard) .
If the anwer is yes, Do i need to do a clean flash or just by updating it will work fine???
regards,
Ft.
The snapshots are for people who don't want to flash nightlies constantly. The M1 is the exact same as the 1/21 nightly. Flashing a snapshot is essentially the same as flashing the 1/21 nightly and sticking with it until the 2/21 nightly...
The M1 is stable, as are all of the nightlies.

Guys, I am flashing Carbon as the first rom for my Rooted Crespo! But Before I do so, I wanna know whats the difference between the unofficial build of the rom and the Nightly versions? I have also heard about the Marmite kernel, so what do I flash? Faster reply will really help!

The differences are slight... I prefer the unofficial, but some bugs may be present, though I never had any issue nor do the nightlies guarantee stability... I was getting more speed with the unofficial vs the nightlies but only a bit.. Marmite is good and I liked devil kernel as well..

That's the latest unofficial build. It's almost as smooth as the first unofficial, but with more features.

Same as official thread. Unofficial builds are created by Gingo21 (more optimized), while official builds are automated.
The main difference I've noticed is that the the accelerometer doesn't work yet in the nightlies, but does in the unofficial.

tittle says it all..
what are the difference of official cyanogenmod 11 and fxp cyanogenmod 11?
As far as I know, now, there is no official CM support for Taoshan.
Only nightlies/unofficials.
The following people are maintainers for this device: freexperia, varun chitre. Source: Link

so freexperia works is thesame with cm?
It's separated from cmteam.
They just shared their work (for kitkat cm), like kernel, drivers and 'selfmade/customized/optimalized' cyanogenmod for our XL.
It's just support for Sony devices.

It depends on what you prefer. If you like updating every day then go for cyanogen nightlies if you prefer to update weekly then choose fxp builds. Its up to you.

Yes they have the same sources as far as I know. And I don't think fxp has OTA. but yes there are weekly builds from fxp. But CM is nightlies.

i had the same question then i tried both of them_it turns out .. there isn't much difference ... but i found fxp better because of better camera performance although there is again not much difference_i found both of them stable .. and good for daily use as they have an awesome battery life (even better if u use thunderzap kernel) , music quality is same but you will experience a lil lag sometimes in official cm11
but the gaming performance is no good in both .. (i tried playing asphalt 8) i have tried each and every setting in various kernels but still no good_
Hey guys

Edit :- misspelled words
Thread moved to proper forum.
unofficial ,it doesnt mean a tons of bugs,it's mean not from CyanogenMod team ,but we can commit or change something to CyanogenMod Gerrit

agree. unofficial doesn't mean buggy. i'm using CM by omerjerk. and so far so good.
but please consider, if you change to another ROM than MIUI you will lose the greatness of its quality camera. (many people complaining about this)
