Aroma v3.0 at 176 DPI - Need to change Samsung keyboard to match this resolution - Galaxy Tab 7.7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
I very much like UpInTheAir latest update of his Aroma ROM (i.e. V3.0) on my P6810 32GB.
I wanted to change the DPI resolution so I have more room, mainly in landscape mode as at 213 DPI it feels like the whole screen is just a keyboard when you type in a URL or else.
So now I am at 176 DPI and it is a lot more useable (again the issue is mainly in landscape mode) but the keyboard is not using the whole of the bottom of the page. I don't recall this being the case in the Bodivas stock ROM so I assume a different version of Samsung keyboard is being used in this ROM.
I haven't looked for the keyboard app yet but I was wondering if it would be possible to replace the app with the stock one and if so could someone tell me what the app is?
Many thanks.

Android Tablet Density settings

Hi everyone
So, I have this Android Tablet called the Haipad M701 which runs on Android 2.1
By default the icons and everything are HUGE, doesn't look too good So, I rooted the device and found a density setting which by default was at 240. I changed it to different values between 160 to 240 and with smaller values it looks very nice
BUT at any value other than the default 240, almost ALL apps and games are no longer in fullscreen
Does anybody know if there might be a fix for that?
Thanks
wow... not a reply since sept... not sure if you get it fixed or not.
one step you can try is to turn off the compatibility mode in your tablet.
this should fill up the whole screen in most apps except some apps that written specifically for small screen phone without adding large screen display mode in it.

Which LCD Density changer are you using with ICS?

I tried to use LCD Modder Pro but its ICS hack crashes and its temp reboot doesnt work and when I took take the chance and apply a setting I had used before on hone comb, all I get is a black screen and then I have to use Odin to flash ICS back and redo CWM and Root.
So I was wondering which ones have worked for the community
LCD Density Modder Pro works great for me.
I manually change the build.prop. :fingers-crossed:
BTW, don't go over 170 (Hardware limit). AND, if your using a third party Launcher (I use GO Launcher HD) and set the DPI to 170, you'll go to phone mode and lose the soft keys (BacK, Home, Option...)
I just used rom manager and have it at 120 right now which adds extra tablet features and gives me more space versus the overly large display in its stock configuration and I use AWD EX and Widget Locker
LCD Density Modder Pro does not work for me as well. It is wiping out the build.prop file. I am now just using root explorer to manually edit the build.prop file. It is super simple to do.
Try Blade Buddy. It's compatible with ICS and has a lot of other features useful for modding too.
Rom Toolbox
I've used it on tables and phones and have yet to have a problem with it. It's free and very easy to use.
What are these extra tablet features you guys are talking about?

[Q] Hold Back to Kill/Best Method for changing DPI

Double whammy question. Is there any way to enable hold back button to kill current app on any rom? I know that it's on most AOSP roms and Viper rom but I'm running King Cobra and miss it coming from AOKP. I would just use viper rom as it's the better rom between the two imo but currently changing the dpi causes system ui to fc and I need my 200 dpi, 320 seems huge and ridiculously wasteful after being on 200 for so long. On Viper it's 320 or nothing, no 241,240,200 or 192 (tablet mode) just 320. I usually just use root explorer and edit the build prop but that kills system ui. Unfortunately so does the app "lcd modifier pro" I know they all essentially do the exact same thing but maybe there's an app out there unbeknownst to me that tricks the system into thinking the density has been unchanged while actually allowing you to change the resolution. Any feedback is appreciated.

Rom with ability to add larger type

Haven't been around in a while. My wife has the MikTouch-0.5 Rom on her phone. Looking for a ROM recomendation with options to increase font size. I understand that ice cream sandwich can?

One method is to adjust the DPI setting on the rom. Using buildprop editor, you can adjust the setting "ro.sf.lcd_density". The default for the doubleshot (at least with the CM 9.1 build) is 240. Lowering this number reduces the size that objects display, but I assume that increasing it will increase the size. I do have to warn, I have not tried to do this--I generally use 200 as my dpi setting. Changing this setting may also adjust what market applications are available, just as a warning.

Adjusting the LCD density on my phone made it to where no Market app was available for download/update. The Amazon Appstore and SlideME still worked.
there are also some free and paid apps on the market now that do this, you'll find them if you search 'font size' in Google Play. they won't affect how the market sees your device, but with the bigger font but the space where the words go remaining the same, there will be places here and there where words might get cut off at the top or bottom.
Hello,
what I'm looking for is to change only some font sizes.
I tried some Market apps and modified also the DPI value in build.prop, but these change all font sizes (small, medium and big fonts).
I come from a HTC Desire with Sense 3.5 and now I have a rooted S-off DS4GS with CM 9.1 using this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1912582
Actually, text labels under homescreen icons, app drawer etc, look perfect, exacty the same as at my previous Desire, but with DS4GS some in-app texts or menu options look quite bigger now.
Are there different font sizes for small, medium and big fonts? If so, is it possible to configure each of them?
Thanks

[Q] ro.sf.lcd_density changes density but still no multipane layout

Hi,
i got a Nexus 7 (2012) unlocked and rooted. And an app which supports multipane layouts for tablets. Like most of the time the layout on my Nexus 7 is the phone layout.
I changed the ro.sf.lcd_density from 213 to 160 and everything is smaller than it should be but i still get the phone layout instead of the tablet layout. Not only in that specific app but also in basic views like the android setting. Since right now i'm only intereseted in this app to give me a tablet layout i tried xposed too, but didnt work. even setting the density down to 70 didnt work.
i tested it wich my nexus 5 too. there i do get the tablet layout when using a density of 160. so there aren't multiple apk files for different devices.
Is there anything i can do to get the app display in tablet layout.
would be great if someone can help me
