Hi xdians,
I'm experiencing such a weird problem with my 8gb SD card I guess.
I download a music with mp3 format and I can listen it, but after 5 minutes I can not listen the music, its not recognizing the music, it can't open it.
When I download an apk from web I can install it immediately after the download has finished, but after 5 or more minutes I can't install the apk, it says ,, there is error parsing the package" also the icon from the apk is changed into android icon.
One more problem... when I move an app from internal memory to SD card I can open it and play it, but after 5 minutes or so after closing the app, I can not open it again, it instant force close when I'm opening. Also in settings on Manage Applications the icon on the app that has been moved to SD card is removed.
This are the problems I'm facing, every help/opinion is very apprecied.
Thanks a lot!

Back it up using a computer, format it, put it back in the phone and let it initiate it. It will probably ask if you want to store content there, you should accept. If not just make sure it's been mounted. Reinstall the apk and else. See what happens...
I think it s fail SD card. It s hardware problem
Try to change it

Well usually buggy SD card in phones are perfectly working once you open them with a computer. If not, formatting it takes 5 seconds and may restore usability... In any way it takes little time and effort and could very well solve the glitch. If not then you'll know you need to change it...

I've had my phone since Friday, I popped in an 8gb SD card to replace the 2gb card that came with the phone (don't know if that's my issue - it's a Samsung phone with a Samsung SD card so I don't know why it would be).
Long story short - after I (properly) disconnect my phone from having it connected via USB as mass storage most of my shortcuts and widgets break. There are three major issues.
1. The Mixzing widget always breaks after disconnecting. I get a white box that says "Problem Loading Widget". I delete the widget, try to re-add it to that screen but it doesn't even show up in my widget list anymore. I have to completely un/reinstall Mixzing to get the widget back.
2. I have eight Folders on one of my screens with custom names (Social, Games, Tools, Shop, etc) and every time I disconnect all of the custom names revert back to 'Folder' for every single folder. Often times the icon for the app shortcuts in these folders will disappear and only the green default Android logo will appear. Sometimes the shortcuts break, sometimes they still work, sometimes they completely disappear, sometimes they show up on the same screen as all of the folders instead of in the folder.
3. I have one page with my 12 most-common contacts (Shortcut > Contact). Similar story to the apps I mentioned above. Some shortcuts break, the contact photo pulled from Facebook often disappears, sometimes the whole shortcut will simply be gone.
I am using GO Launcher, I don't know if that's part of the issue or if this is a major bug. I just spent two hours reformatting everything (internal SD, external SD, reset to factory default) and set everything back up the same way and the problems still occur every time. I'm extremely frustrated at this point, ready to head to the AT&T store tomorrow and return this thing.
Move your apps from sd card to phone. Settings-applications-manage apps-sd card. Move applications to phone. Problems fixed!

Thanks, I'll do that now and test but I don't see how that would effect folders' names being erased and contact shortcuts being messed up. We'll see what happens.
Did you format the new card first? If so did you format it on your PC or your phone?
Would strongly suggest you run this formatting program on the card (assuming you have a PC). Format it as FAT32. If you have one of those red fruit computers, not sure how they work.

Is this a legit micro sd card? Because I had a ton of issues because of a fake 32gb I had with apps randomly disappearing even after moving apps to phone.

I also returned my first infuse before realizing it was that damn sd card. Put the stock 2gb back and see how things go.

I've been trying to install the Rugby World Cup app from the market, but every time it gets to "installing", I get a message saying the SD card has been removed.
I don't know what's actually been removed, as all my music is still accessible and I can browse the SD card in OI File Manager, but then, some apps aren't working, and I have to reboot to get it back.
Any ideas what might be causing this? I've tried updating existing apps, and that works fine...
Thanks!
Hi after having to switch my phone off, when I turned it on again it appears that all the apps I moved to the SD card are no longer there. I have just spent some time downloading them from the market again.
Question is why has this happened and how do I stop it from happening again
Thanks in advance
Solution
Hi Nexus.
I think you'll find that the apps still exist, they're just fragmented on the SD
card. This has happened to me plenty of times.
I've found it's only apps that are installed on the SD card and it's never
happened with apps on the phone's internal ROM.
A good way to check is to go into: Settings- Applications- Manage applications-
then tap the SD card tab. That list shows all of your apps installed on the SD
card. I found that when apps here got fragmented/corrupt they didn't show their
original app icon. Instead they showed the stock android app icon. This is a good
way to tell if the missing apps in question are still there but are just fragmented.
The way to solve this, the way that's worked for me, is to plug the phone into a
pc and mount the SD card as a disk. Then on the PC access the SD card via
explorer and right click- properties- tools- then click de-fragment.
This may take up to 30 mins as it's not as fast as a HDD.
From using this technique my apps have always returned and I can use them
with no problems again.
I've also noticed that this issue only happens if I restart or turn the phone off. I
don't understand what is corrupting the apps as the SD card is mounted
correctly and is the one supplied as standard.
I hope I've helped, and I guess this will save you from re-downloading all of your
apps again.
I'm happy to hear anyone's thoughts/suggestions onto why this is actually
happening in the first place too.
Cheers, Dms
Hi thanks so much for the answer. This has been bugging me for ages and even though I have been searching I have not had any joy solving it until your reply.
As you said it only seems to happen to apps on the sd card, and I would like to know why they are not "persistent" There must be a developer who understands the Android system who can explain why this happens and what you can do to make apps you have on your sd card permanent.
As you said it only happens to me when I re start my phone.
Thanks again for the answer
Hi. It's no problem. Yes I havn't seen anything about this issue being mentioned either.
I'd like to know what's causing it. Whether it's a hardware fault or something in the software.
It's a real pain having to hook it up to my pc to sort it out. Especially when I'm away from a pc, I can't use half of my apps.

So does anybody has had this error on their phone? Sometimes when I want to take a pic it shows a light blue/cyan screen error, and the picture doesn't get taken. The error says:
Failed to save photo to SD card (error code=2)
The following are fixes for this error:
- make sure your SD card is inserted
- remove the SD card and re-insert, then launch Camera ZOOM FX again
- reboot and try again
If this problem continues, please mail [email protected]
Somebody knows what is going on?
Thanks.
I'm using the same app, but haven't had any problems since switching to a Class 4 SD card (due to the known issue w/Class 10 cards on this device). Can't seem to use video with it though, every time I try to switch to video it force closes.

The weird thing is that if I do a factory reset, then it works fine, but as soon as I begin to install some apps and play around, then it happens again.
Somebody else has another input?
I was having the same issue I also did a Factory Reset then pulled the battery over night and have not had the issue since not sure if it was just a glitch or what.
I just downloaded Camera Zoom FX and got the same thin I took out my sd card and tried the app again, same response. I bought a 16mb class 6 sd card at the suggestion from here on what would work. The camera is a disappointment with the stock app, hope I can get FX working.

So far no problems with Camera Zoom FX.
OS versions 2.3.5 or 2.3.6.
SDcard is a Sandisk 16G class 6
Any news nahuelarg86 on your situation
I had the same problem with this app. The standard camera app would appear to save the pictures but when you would go into MyGallery, no picture would be there although you wouldn't get an error message like CameraFX. I found this information somewhere else, but if I went and looked at the dcim directory on the sdcard there would be corrupt files in the Camera subdirectory. Deleting these files would then allow pictures to be saved. I was using a class 10 sd card, but switching to class 4 didn't fix the issue. I did the OTA update to 2.3.6 hoping this would correct the issue. This made things worse regarding the camera apps. Every picture file for news pics appeared to be corrupt. I then did a factory reset to 2.3.6 and I haven't had a problem with the camera apps since.
Well, I did a factory reset and I didn't have the problem again. But, I began to download some apps and play around and then I got it again... I deleted all the apps that I installed last time in hope that it would help, and it did. For me it's a pain in the a$$ to do factory resets because of the setting up, re installing of thing, etc.
I still don't know where the problem might be. Seems like it's related to space or the resources an app uses, but I know of the problems of SD cards and everything is stored in the phone's memory. So I have no idea...
I know this thread is old, but it was the first hit on google, so maybe someone else will need the solution: Most of the times the save feature on external sd card is corrupted because of rom change. Backup your data of your external sd on your PC. Then go in android under settings < "space" (Speicher auf deutsch) and format the external sd card. Afterwards you should be able again to save your pictures on your external sd card, because the card is now perfectly formatted to your rom....
Hello guys, wishing you all a very pleasant day.
Many people have that pain in the a** problem when the application manager of their smartphone starts to act weird. It is that when you try to clear the cache, delete app data or even uninstall an application, the application manager get stuck on "computing/calculating" and never stops. Also, when you try to uninstall an application, it gets stuck on "uninstalling" and never ends!
I had this problem on my HTC Desire 500 since about day 7 of purchasing, I figured the solution for this after months of searching on the web for a quick solution for this frustrating issue without taking it back for repair. I thought it was a software malfunction but the cause for that problem was the most unexpected factor; the SD card!
As an initial trial, I pulled the SD card out and started using the phone without it for a whole day. I checked the application manager every now and then and it was surprisingly working all fine! I put the SD card back and the problem came back out of nowhere!
So, here is how I solved that problem:
- Shutdown your phone and pull out the SD card. If the problem is gone then follow the below procedure:
1. Connect your smartphone to your laptop and copy all of your important photos, videos and songs to your laptop. DO NOT USE SD CARD BACKUP FUNCTION.
2. You might figure out that your smartphone cannot unmount the SD card, so you cannot format it from there. So, as a countermeasure, shutdown your smartphone, pull out your SD card and connect it to your laptop for a quick format.
3. After connecting the SD card to your laptop right click on the driver then select "format > quick format".
4. The file system should be FAT32 and the allocation size to be 4096 bytes (I'm not sure why the 4096 bytes in particular but I found many people recommending it)
5. Press "Start" to start formatting.
6. Pull your SD Card out and re-insert it back in your smartphone. Re-download your applications and do some checking for a whole days for the features that was not working "clear cache, clear app date, uninstall app, unmount SD card". and I hope they'll be working well.
The above solution is applicable for all types of smartphones, not only for HTC.
If anyone tries this method and works with them, please let me know
