[Q] Duplicate widgets in the widget drawer - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know how to remove duplicate widgets in the widget drawer? One of my apps makes a duplicate everytime I install an update. I can uninstall the app but I lose all my settings...and I don't want to do that.

[Q] Hide Apps from Drawer

Hi there,
does anyone know a way how to hide apps from the drawer?
Google says i could use a different drawer (i don't want that) or i could disable them with tools like Titanium Backup (which needs root).
So any ideas? And why are there even TWO apps for Facebook and TWO Apps for Twitter?
I don't think you can hide drawer icons in Sense. You need to use a launcher like AWDLauncher.EX or Launcher Pro to be able to do that.
HTC has its own Facebook and Twitter apps/widgets, and the others are the official apps from the Android Market.

[Q] Does anyone know how to hide app icons in the Drawer?

Hello fellow N5 users~! I am hoping that someone out there knows the solution to my frustration.
Coming from TouchWiz and 3rd party launchers such as Apex and Hololauncher, I'm very used to having the ability to hide app icons inside the app drawer. If I have the apps as shortcuts on my homescreens, dock, and folders, I like hiding the reduntant app icons inside the drawer so that when I do enter the drawer, I don't have to filter through the apps (I have 120 apps installed).
I found some apps that promise to hide apps inside the drawer but they seem to only work by disabling the apps, which leads to app icons in the homescreens, dock, and folders to disappear as well.
So is there a way to hide apps inside the app drawer like we can with Apex?

Click to collapse
There is no way to do this with the stock launcher.

[Completed] Can't get an app (UCCW) to forget custom widgets I made for it, after reinstall

This problem could be the app, the launcher I use (kk launcher) or something I did. When I try to add the widget for uccw, the launcher presents me with several widget options (1x1, 1x2, etc). The launcher freezes on this options screen and I suspect it's because I made additional custom widgets under the uccw category. I also modified existing uccw widgets. Anyway when I reinstall the app, I want it to forget all previous custom widgets and just include the stock widgets made by the app. How can I do this? I already tried clear data and clear cache before uninstalling, then running a search in file explorer and deleting all references to uccw. Didn't work, the extra / altered widgets still show after I reinstall the app.
Hi!
I would suggest you try asking in this thread on UCCW... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1880050
Good luck!
