[Q] S Note app on CM 10.2 - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I would like to install CM 10.2 on my Note 10.1. It is really icredibly fast and smooth with longer battery life.
But what I would like to ask about, is that, if I flash this ROM:
1- Can I get S Note app to run on it? I use this app a lot for my notes and learning.
2- Can I get a solution for multi-screen? I used already HALO using XPOSED framework on my S III and loved it. So, does HALO work as well on Note 10.1 running CM 10.2?
3- Any "severe" problems that prevent it from being a choice as a daily driver?
4- I already installed CM 10.2 on Tab 10.1 Verizon LTE (p4vzw) and loved the fact that the notifications pannel is separated from the navigation bar. Is this the case as well in Note 10.1?
5- Any drawbacks in using the SPen?
I have searched and googled a lot for answers to these questions, but could not find any.
Every tiny help is hugely appreciated

What?!?! Wait for Kit Kat?!?! OMG, we have been waiting for months now for 4.2.2 and we became more patient when they stepped up to 4.3 without 4.2.2 upgrade and we are still waiting!! And when they released some S III 4.3 updates, they were horrible and got pulled after hours!!!
Kit Kat won't be released for months!!! And when released, Android 5.0 or 5.1 will be already released!!! If not even buggy!
Anyways, any alternatives to S Note for importing PDF files and taking notes?

[Q] P3110 Lost tablet UI on Jelly bean Official

Hi,
after I've upgraded to 4.1.1; I've seen that gt2 has lost the tablet UI that It has on previous ICS version 4.0.4.; and It looks like a definitive step.
For me it's a downgrade of the tablet.:crying:
There is some way to change the UI to tablet again without changing to ICS previous room?
Regards.

Actually , its not Samsung, its the way God and Google intended it.
Google choose this style for the Nexus 7 , therefore all 7 Inch Jelly Bean tabs get it... Thank ya Google.!!

Well, OEMs can do 'old' tablet UI if they want. But Samsung has decided to just go ahead and keep that aspect even while replacing other things with Touchwiz.
I find it stubborn of them. Google created their tablet UI and merged HoneyComb and Gingerbread into ICS and further but they are not capitalising on their innovation. Phone mode on 7" tablet is still fine but having it on Nexus 10 is just ugly and not ergonomic.
yeah, especially when trying to tap home on Landscape...
Good side on the new UI:
well, actually, none. most shortcuts from 4.0.4 in status and shortcut bar were removed.
-Except for the halo effect circle when you drag.
Bad side:
-Annoying to click from top then to bottom
-Trying to make it landscape, the feel is kinda annoying, like when you tap home on Landscape.
yeah and the worst there is no nicely working TabUI for DMA2 (4.1.2) out there...

[Q] Jellybean user manual for Galaxy Tab 2

Now that I have Jellybean on my Galaxy Tab 2 7 P3113, I notice that my screen icons are completely jumbled. Ah well, the price of progress. I'll fix this, but...
I looked at Samsung for an updated Jellybean manual, found only this:
samsung.com/ca/consumer/mobile/mobile-phones/tablets/GT-P3113TSAXAC-support#
A later version than I had, but not the Jellybean version.
After some searching, the best manual I could find is this:
boeboer.com/android-4-1-jelly-bean-user-manual/
More experienced users - any thoughts on when/if Samsung will update its manual, or links to a general Jellybean OS manual (not a feature list)?
Why u need manual?? Its easy to use tab!! And jelly beam isnt so different from ics! Except for phablet !
Press thanks if I helped

Im surprised there is'nt ALOT more Custom Roms for the Tab 3 T211

Im honestly surprised there is'nt more Custom Roms available for the Galaxy Tab 3 T211, for instance, Roms like Miui, C.M 10.2, AOKP, PACMAN, or even a Touch Wiz 4.3 Updated jump Off to run flawlessly on the Tab 3 T211. Im like really Baffled over here wondering whats going on, this is a great lil device , however this stock 4.1.2 SUCKs. Please, we need a great developer to cook up something RAW for us to Flash. Thanks for listening....

I really hope for someone will make it soon. I can't do it myself, I don't understand the program language.
So, for you developer, thanks b4. Maybe you can spent your time to make a CM with very2 updated Android sistem (maybe 4.4).

We are here to help one another- Let us work hand in hand in helping to get this device to work as great as possible. Honestly speaking this device may be lagging at times....but this can be resolved by Kernel revamp plus tweaks like :
- Scorpion Bionic Optimisation
- Neon script
My setup to be honest :
Stock ROM..Rooted
Crossbeeder Tweak
So far have not removed any bloatware yet and with the above setup my Antutu (full test) score is on my SM-T211
It'll be worth the wait. My phone is a Motorola Atrix HD. It was released August 2012 and didn't get any real development until the bootloader was unlocked in April of 2013. Since then it has most all of the major ROM's on 4.4.2. Everyone kept saying the same thing about this time last year. Just stick it out.

Totally Understand your dilemma..
Hey B, the deference with the the Galaxy Tab is there no BootLoader holding back the development. i honestly think no big development is acquiring because of the hardware, its not much to brag about, its only a Dual core, i think thats the problem, and with this stock System its really laggy, well for me it is, cause i have the note 2 as well. Anyway i will be here patiently waiting cause in really loving this device, once it get some steroids then ill love it even more. Thanksss.

So to make sure that I understand what you are saying... I could, instead of having a Wi-Fi Hot Spot from Sprint, have a Tab 3 from Sprint with a data plan, install this, and then be able to use this tablet as a Hot Spot? I currently use my Note 3 (that has unlimited data) but there are times I'd rather have the Hot Spot (or this tablet) as how I connect my laptop to the internet (Like when 4G isn't available and using the Note on 3G basically disables the ability to do phone and data simultaneously).
I don't use the Hot Spot very much so I could probably do this with a limited data plan on the tablet and get away with it.
Anyway. Too long of a post to simply ask if this allows tethering of a Laptop to the Tab 3 for the laptop to use the Tab 3's data plan.
Thanks!

Well 4.4 Kitkat is coming soon from Samsung. Most people like Touchwiz and you can't get a lot working beyond 4.2.2 in any ROM until Samsung drops a new version and the libs can be updated. Not much to do until 4.4 comes that hasn't already been done. Root, then a few tweaks and the tab really hums. When you branch off into cell providers tab versions it gets even harder because you need new /different kernels, modems and firmware specifically for them. In other words there just isn't that much demand for custom ROMs and it takes a lot of effort.
Its funny you say that D.
There isn't even 4.2.2 Build out for the Galaxy Tab 3 T211.. The Tab 3 T311 came with 4.2.2 out the BOX, so it has nothing to do with waiting, cause 4.2.2 is there, however your right when you say there isn't any Devs willing to put in there quality time to cook anything up for the T211, I dont know why cause this Device is a nice lil jump off, so i just made the decision to sell it and cop the Tab 3 8'' T311. Much better device, barely any lag and it came running 4.2.2 out the box, Plus it comes with 16gigs of internal storage, and it just costed me ONLY an extra $10 after selling the T211 for $350, i came off like a fat rat.. lol... So I have my Note 3 Tweaked out, running Jovy23 Darthstalker V6 Custom Rom, Tethering my Tab 3 T311 FLAWLESSLY... Im Loving It..!! :0

Stop hoping.. WHen Tab3s get the official 4.4 is when you will see a working 4.4 . You can't port things without a proper kernel , libs, blobs, and framework to build on. Libs and blobs are not all open source and its tricky to build a kernel without a vendor base. Samsung should be pushing out some 4.4 in April / May

Cell carrier versions always lag behind because they require the cell carrier to add in their bits , kernel, radio, modem, etc.
Hey T.F
I Agree, i would LOVE a T.W 4.4.2 KitKat myself. Im running CM11 (Big Up to CM) and its running GREAT, FLAWLESSLY on my T311, however I Know TW 4.4.2 KitKat will be ported at some point to our 8" Tab 3, look at the bright side though, at-least we have a few options and are not stuck on 4.1.2 like the T211....
QUOTE=thefoss;51314636]I just got a Tab 3 8.0. Was really hoping for a 4.4.2 Tab Pro port[/QUOTE]
Well after reading all comments ... its mean this device is not so good ? Complaints about lags or no custom rom?
Even on stock rom you can improve performance with tweaks like edit your build.prop and add some tweak or add tweak in init.d folder like fly-on mod...
For me I use stock rom 4.1.2 with some tweaks on build.prop
I can play games like asphalt 8 or gta san andreas or play psp game almost smooth with no lag except some game on psp emulator of course I cant compare with my nvidia shield... but for me this galaxy tab 3 7.0 is good enough
Here my score on antutu

i have a galaxy tab 3 t211 but i think tab 3 t211 is a useless tab there have 2 custom rom for tab 3 t211 and all off them useless i think tab 2 is batter than tab 3

[Q] Port stock note 10.1.

I just wondering, can we port stock rom from note 10.1 2014 edition, to note 10.1 2012 edition? because the feature from 2014 editon is so rich.
No the tabs are very different and you would be setting yourself up for a brick.

I don't think there are that many features we're missing anyway. We even have the Hancom Office Suite ported to the N8000. The upcoming 4.4 update would even help our tablets catch up with the 2014 version for a while (but given the changes that Google and Samsung have made, I may consider staying with 4.1.2).

I wouldnt say all of that, there arent enough changes at the moment to really care, Jelly Bean does most everything you could want and kitkat with touch wiz overlayed isnt kit kat, and otherwise if all kitkat then your note wouldnt be a note.

Just list it out already. For me it's the lack of Tablet UI in Android 4.2+ and especially the complete removal of Tablet UI codes in 4.4. About Samsung functionality you'll see the new Pen Windows as a lot of hassles compared to N8000's Cascade View. Regarding usability, what you actually use everyday are apps, not OS. As long as 4.1 can operate with the (absolute) majority of apps that 4.4 can, I will see 4.4 as just a minor update that should only be concerned about by programmers. Don't believe completely in advertisement, it's not as big of a change as from 2.3 to 4.0.

Installed a samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 inch in the car dash

Hi everybody, i set out to install an Galaxy tab 2 10.1 inch that i had and wasn't using in the car dashboard. And i am finished with all the bondo work and painting and everything. So now its time to setup the galaxy tab itself. So i would appreciate any advice you can share about what you think would be the best Rom for it. Personally i was thinking either CM12 or CM13. And either programing my own launcher for it ( i have an old android tv box launcher project i can probably repurpose for this ) or going the "AutoMate" way. And ofcourse the plan is to install Pushbullet for the notifications from the phone and Here maps for the gps.
Any suggestions or ideas/opinions for Rom, launchers and apps are welcome. I know that the chances of getting a bunch of "google it" responses are pretty high and for those people i have to say i have googled car tablet setups and installs for the last 2 months.
I think cm13 would be great...as you are not gonna play games....
Marshmallow would be great for your use.

Japp CM13 seems like a good choice, ive installed it today. had a litle trouble with the marshmallow gapps package that is linked in the cm13 thread, got an error message constantly so finaly downloaded gapps from opengapps.net and that one installed without any problems.
