Wireless Radio Specs - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know what the radio specs are and if it's 1x1x1 or 2x2x2 offhand. Time to overhaul the aps at home and want to see if it makes sense to spend the extra for the 2x2x2 or 3x3x3 APS that I was looking at.

Are you asking about wifi? If so it's single antenna for the AC radio anyway. 433Mbps max with AC1200 and AC1600 router.

Yes was talking WiFi. Thanks. Keeping my router but looking into some moderately priced 3x3x3 gear so wanted to see if this could take advantage.

Fool Amazon into thinking I'm on wifi?

Is it possible to trick Amazon into thinking I'm on a wifi connection? I'm on CM7 and having trouble connecting to wifi so I can't download plants vs zombies.

That really annoyed me. I was at my parents at the time, they have horrible satellite internet. I had decent 3G coverage but noooo, had to spend half an hour downloading PvZ. I'm on CM7 RC 0.2 with the kang bang kernel and my wifi works now. (gps too)
Does 4G work on that kernel though

Working for me right meow.

Anyone have bell sensation on at&t 10 dollar unlimited data?

Anyone?
Sent from my Sensation using xda premium
Reason I ask is because when I got my bell sensation at&t told me I could get the 10 dollar unlimited plan, but whennthey added it to my plan,my internet didn't work anymore. I had to add the 2gb 4g data plan back

If you are talking about the media net
plan, yes i'm on it and using it with no issues on bell sensation z710a.
I'm on the $15 unlimited plan since I have not added unlimited messing.

Also make sure you use the wap.cingular apn if you are having data issues. Attached is my apn setting for the media net plan.

Yes I get 3g, hspa+ speeds with no issues. In Seattle I get average download speeds arnd 2MBps since att network is not great where I stay. But I have hit around 5Mbps in Chicago airport while traveling.
If you want there is a thread in sgs2 forums about people's experience on media net plans and their speeds. For me I didn't see any speed difference between the media net plan and the att 4g plan speeds. So i'm happily using the one which costs less and get unlimited data in the process

Just found this thread. It's helpful in my search.
FWIW, I USB tethered my Nokia 6700 Classic (which I didn't even know was capable of HSDPA until it launched). Signal used to be really good for it, but it started dropping like crazy. Thought it was the device, so I replaced it with another... same signal issues.
Anyway, I think I'm the reason why the signal is all crappy. In April, 2011, I did 800GB of data on my $20 Media Max unlimited data plan. AT&T never caught me. Until that month, I was doing between 10GB and 30GB each month.
Now, I'm looking for an affordable smartphone that is very much NON-AT&T so that I can continue to bend the rules and keep getting high speed internet.

Quick question

Could someone tell me exactly how many antennas is in an infuse?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
One that I know of, located near the charging port.
2 according to what I just googled. Cell at the bottom and a smaller Bluetooth/WiFi on the left.
I mean antennas for cell signal, I know it either has 3 or 4 I just don't know which one

Had it with my gs3.

Thinking about coming back to the one s. Saw kernel source was released. Should i jump ship?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I personally wouldn't return to the One S, had to many issues with it. Also the S3 has better battery, screen, more ram, storage. Only thing I miss is sense but touch wiz is holding up just fine

What issues did you have?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Wi-Fi
Signal issues
Poor battery
Where are you located? As far as signal issues, i believe they just pushed an ota for that problem.

Hmm, did you root? WiFi could be a boot.img problem. I've not had signal issues but flashing the latest radio or the eu radio fixed it for others. What? The One S has great battery. I get almost six hours of heavy usage [Games, Web, Music at the same time]. The only thing I wish for is more access to ram. There is no reason I should only have 200 free mbs.
Go to one s. It's tied at first for a reason. I have NO problems. Signal is great and very fast with great battery. Chicago
Signal great WiFi never had problem battery hmm decent can be better

Im curious to hear about your SGSIII issues
Shouldnt this be in gs3 forums ?

Was asking Q's about the one s and it turned into a gs3 topic

Have you made the switch yet? I PM'd you about a possible trade
Might just return it because I'd be losing money if I traded it straight away. Ill get refunded the gs3 from t-mobile there is a huge difference in price between the two.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Exchange is done coming back to the one s. Phone is great just not 279 on a new contract great. Maybe when it's more developed I'll come back when its cheaper on an upgrade but by then new stuff will be out.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
how much is a one on contract? they're the same price off-contract
My contract is amazing 12.00 pm 300 min unlim text 750mb data free phone black 24mnth and I bought the phone 2weeks after it came out do it with redemption with mobiles but if u know what ur doing u ALWAYS get your cashback frm them they are good

Gs3 is officially on its way back and rocking the one s again unlocked, rooted using axiom 1.6, twrp and latest eu radio. Reception has been awesome and holds steady no matter what. I do lose service at home which seems to be an issue with low signal strength on 4g and not rolling over to edge. Not a big deal because wifi is available at home. This phone just feels completely better than the gs3 and is definitely faster! Plus I have 75gbs of free drop box space ;-) so that makes up for any storage issues between the two.
How can the one s be faster than gs3? Gs3 is quad core

Voice & Data?

Used to be you couldn't use voice and data at the same time on VZW unless you were connected to WiFi. Someone told me that with 4G you can do both now. Fact or fiction?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Most 4g android phones if not all can. IPhone 5 cannot due to apple not taking extra effort to do the antenna right. Galaxy s3 and some HTC phones can also do simultaneous voice and data while on 3g too
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yea u can surf the internet and talk on the phone at the same time with 4g lte....all 4g android phones through vzw can do it #fact
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
the old iphone I thought used to be able to? Now they cant hahaha jokes on them. But than again with the iphone almost everyone with one has data caps so thats why you see all apple users on wifi all the time. Not meeeee unlimited 4g wooot.
Definitely can. Do it all the time on my GS3.

Not trying to sound like a jerk. But I see in you SIG that you have the S3. Why didn't you just try it out?
I know when I go to get new phones I try to test that feature out before anything else. Feathering to my tablet so that I can stream music and being able to receive a phone call is very convenient. And a must have. Any way, to answer your question like others have. 3G and 4G. Fact.
