OCing a class 4 sd card will reduce sdcard life...
aries kernel works fine with class 4 sd.

Making a partition does degrade life of the card but yes oc ing can coz as the r/w speed of the class 4 card is low and ocing needs more tha 6..

Hi i just bought a new micro sd card class 10 and 16gb
i have my phone s-off and rooted, 4ext Recovery 2.1.0 in boot, LBC MOD 0.5.3
So the questions is how should i format this new card to benefit at max.
Should i directly copy the old card content to the new card and then full format the card to ext4? Or what?
What should i put in Ext4 partition and what to put in fat32 if you suggest me to have both.
And the last question should i use the mount menu or just format it and the rest will be held by the phone..
Thanks

I wouldn't bother using a partition on the SD card....so simply format the entire thing as FAT32.
SD-EXT partitions are only really intended for older devices with reduced internal storage, we should have adequate. Are you running short of internal space?
I personally don't bother locating any applications on SD as they all fit in internal memory and run faster from there anyway!
So what about HD videos bigger than 4 gb? So you mean that we only need EXT4 only if the internal memory of Desire S is not enough. What about a Class 10 sd card speed VS the internal memory speed? any idea or test about that? if the class10 card is faster than the internal memory?
Afraid that I don't know any of that
Perhaps perform some tests and post the results back, I'd be interested in them

Exfat is pattended by microsoft
It's beter than fat32, because it can handle file's larger than 2gb.
The last thing i know about exfat is that there wass a implementation in Android system and it's fully supported. So i don't think it will cause problems, but remember, the implementation is still in beta version.
anyone else faced problem with ty style cwm 5.0.2.7 , i have 16gb fat 32 card , went to cwm to format it, chose 1gb sd ext 128 swap and it says formating...
done
going mount usb data is still on card, going to check in minitol partition only fat 32 partition. tryed few times same
gona do now without sdext, and swap , clean fat 32 partition, its pretty fast sd card for random speed on 4kb witch is ipmortant for android , its class 4 sandisk 16gb , getting random speed writes 1 mb/s while class 10 and other cards getting 0.01 -0,2 .
making installing apps on external memory wia cyanmobile settings, wonder how will that go. without any a2sd script s2e amarullzs or similar.
Sorry but I'll suggest you not to partition sd card via CWM coz it has some risk to damaged your sdcard..
Just partition via minitools coz its a lot better and more save..

Partitioning in general, has risks...its not coz of cwm or minitool...
Typed on a small touchscreen
My S3 is running 6.0.3.0 CWM and it won't read my Sandisk Ultra micro SD XC class 10 card. I read that if I format it from exFat to Fat32 it should solve the problem. If I do that will it only give me 32 GB of usable storage? Can it corrupt the card? What can I do to make my 64 gb work in CWM?
Format it as FAT32 with Ease US... The downside is not being able to store 4+ GB files...
Hi
I m using strontium class 10 16 gb sd card
Is it advisable to move data and cache folder on sd-ext?
Will there be any lag?
Info wanted for increasing memory scripts....mount2sd or int2ext

it has benefits..you'll be able to truly overclock your phone & therefore there won't be any lags, also you won't have memory issues anymore.
By using pll2 overclock kernel internal memory will be automatically increased..no memory scripts needed.
