Modify the Default Camera opened from the Lockscreen Swype - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have done some searching, and have not found a specific answer to this.
Is it possible to change the camera that opens when I swipe to the left from the lock screen? It opens the default camera, but does not present a choice to use Camera Awesome!, for example.

I would like to be able to do this too.

[Q] what app can launch other apps by swipe patterns

hey guys i'm looking for an android app that will allow me to start apps or do some task by swiping a certain pattern when i'm on the desktop screen.
for example if i swipe upwards it will bring up the app drawer, if i swipe down it will open the notifications, if i 'Z' swipe some other app/task will launch etc etc
any suggestions much appreciated
LauncherPro has some of what you're talking about, but you can only have one swipe direction (up). But you can put pretty much anything there. For example, I have my swipe shortcuts related to the actual shortcut. Shortcut- camera. Swipe - gallery. Shortcut - phone. Swipe - contacts... you get the idea.
not exactly what you're looking for, but similar:

I find SwipePad incredibly useful. Not exactly gestures but one swipe can get you to 12 apps or shortcuts. It works with Anycut too so they can be anything.

Maybe this? Haven't tried it, but sounds like what you're describing: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.reeyees.gesturelauncher&feature=search_result

Just a warning about Swipepad, while it is a useful app, it will break any third party screen brightness apps/widgets, so you will only be able to control screen brightness via stock android controls.
I have tried to get the dev to address this, but he does not seem interested in doing so.

[Q] Shortcuts Toolbar

After doing a Regular Search and Advanced Search and not finding an answer I'm sorry to say I have to ask for help.
When we take the stylist out you can have it set so that the "Shortcuts Toolbar" slides out on the right hand side.
I'm using Apex Launcher but also have Go Launcher EX, Nova, and TouchWiz available, if one of those would be a better choice for me.
How do I change/customize the shortcuts in the shortcuts toolbar to something I would prefer?
Is there a way to activate the shortcut toolbar without removing stylist?
Thank you for any and all help you might be able to give.
With the current firmware these are not changeable, nor can you open this without taking the s-pen out. You can change what happens when you remove the Pen, IE one of the apps in the menu can open automatically or nothing can happen, but you can't change the listed apps there.
Nirvana388, Thank you very much for your help or should I say confirmation of what I had unfortunately figured out.
Yea definitely disappointing would love to customize that and save myself an extra home screen panel.
My shortcuts toolbar is missing. im using the original rom but when i take s pen out the shortcuts toolbar doesnt slide out. Please help me.
Galaxy note 10.1
Not the same... but
Have you tried Sidebar app from play store?
I find the shortcut toolbar a bit of waste being there if you can't change the apps in the list ..
but give Sidebar a try.. it just works..

[Q] Android Transtion Effects (while switching apps, changing orientation etc)

One thing I have been searching for a long time... Is it possible to change how android renders its transition effects? I know its possible because romtoolbox app has this thing. But I haven't found a single thread anywhere where people show their own custom effects. Symbian had many effects that had to do with editing some xml file ... Android can do it too. So how to do it? I
especially want the iphone transition effects. Eg, when I rotate the phone (from landscape to portrait) the screen
zooms into the center and then zooms out to form the new portrait layout. And when changing/switching apps the
current app slides out through the left and the new app slides in from the right.

Default camera // lockscreen camera?

Is it possible to set a different camera app as the default when using the lockscreen's native swipe-left-for-camera gesture? Failing that, is there a lockscreen widget for opening the camera, which will let me choose my preferred default?

Anyone? I've heard that you're supposed to be asked which camera app you'd like to use when swiping on the lockscreen. Can anyone comment on this?

Lock Screen Magazine Unlock subscriptions never update

I have my lock screen set up for the Magazine unlock, with several subscriptions checked, and set up for auto-update over WiFi. But I've never seen any new photos added, they're always the same ones that came with the phone. Is there some other place that you have to set up a subscription to get access to new photos? In reviews of the phone last year, I read that these were supposed to auto-update, but mine never have.
same here, I didnt payed attention to it until saw this post, not sure what else need to be done to have these updated.
Same for me, too.
Even worse, it seems you can't even re-download the original wallpapers from the lock screen settings menu, if you have deleted them (which I did, thinking they could easily be restored).
I admit that I do not miss them severely as I now simply use one of my own wallpapers as a fixed lockscreen wallpaper. But I'm quite curious though, if there is some hidden subscription setting to get the original (and new) lockscreen wallpapers back.

silly question maybe but how do you do that? I've been trying to change the lockscreen wallpaper without no luck
@ilbambino:
1. Open the picture you want to set as the lockscreen wallpaper in the stock gallery app and tap on "More" --> "Set as" (any other app which allows to set an image as a wallpaper should work as well)
1a. Optional: You might get a selection dialog first which allows you to choose how to set the image as your wallpaper. Here you should tap on "Wallpaper(Gallery)" to get to the stock Huawei wallpaper assignment function.
2. Make sure that "Scrollable" is not activated (i.e. not written in blue, but in white) and move the image to show the part you want to have set as the lockscreen wallpaper.
3. Tap on the hook in the upper right corner. You should now get a dialog asking you wether to set the image as the wallpaper for your "Lock screen", "Home screen" or "Both".
4. Select "Lock screen", so that your homescreen wallpaper remains unchanged and your lockscreen wallpaper gets set to the new image.
4a. Optional: You might want to make sure that the wallpaper shuffle function of the magazine unlock style is disabled if you only want your lockscreen wallpaper to be displayed.

Vielen Dank!!!
Sometimes, if you apply the default Theme with Magazine Lock and wait awhile, you'll get a download.
I got several in the beginning. As soon as I switched to another theme, even with Magazine Lock, I never got anymore updates.
I haven't tried going back to a default Theme...I like mine too much now!
By the way, you do realise you can build your own series of magazine Lock pictures (upto 500!) by just adding them to your cover pictures?
It's excellent. Just build your own library of high res wallpapers from any source at all, and add them. It's even much better than the original.
There is also a security issue here! If you flick up the menu from this screen and select the gallery icon on the right and then press the home button it unlocks the phone!

I like the magazine and have added several pictures of my own. I have also deleted some of the pictures in magazine I did not liked.
As for the security "issue" from my lock screen I cannot get past any screen without the unlock code or fingerprint.
It's not working here either. I have a couple images (30) added manually, but the phone never cycles through them. I can however swipe left and right on the lock screen to see the pictures.
