Couple of questions:
1. Is usb host present on the stock 3.2.1 rom?
2. If so, would the garmin ant+ dongle be able to be used?
3. If host isn't present, are there any roms that support USB host?
Thanks in advance
I needed a tab for my car dash entertainment/navigation so i ended up buying a cheap verizon ellipsis 8 (model QTAQZ3). Its perfect for runing multimedia and navigation but it dnt have Otg support which i need to attach rear view cam. I rooted it with kingroot 4.1 and installed root explorer. I have placed android.hardware.usb.host.xml and updated vx.core.hardwarwe.xml. now otg diagnotics showing otg and usb host active but Linux kernel 3.10.0 (andoid 4.2.2) is not otg supported and no usb flash or usb cam is geting recognized by ellipsis 8. Is there any patch for kernal that will do the job? Wht should be next step??
Hi all,
I would like to ask question regarding Ethernet / LAN support on RN7Pro device.
Currently, I tried use brand UGreen Ethernet Gigabit + USB 3.0 Hub with USB Type C converter.
However, my device ( MIUI EU beta rom 9.12.12 , Kernel 4.14.81-perf+) not detect the LAN connection when plugged in.
I've tried use on other android device (mibox 3 - tv box), it works fine.

Is there any solution to let this LAN/Ethernet works fine with RN7pro devices?
Is this related to ROM or Kernel on device?
Appreciate input from you guys.
Not sure about wired connection, but I have no problem connecting from wifi to LAN. Are you trying to connect to a Windows PC, laptop?

What do you mean by "WiFi To LAN". The OP asks if it's possible to use a Ethernet to Type C adaptor on the Redmi Note 7 Pro.

The stock kernel of RN7Pro does not include (or not enabled) drivers for Ethernet connectivity.
However, custom rom for example, https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-11-violet-pixel-experience-stable-official.4200603/ has ethernet support in the kernel dtbo. And ethernet worked fine for me on this ROM.
Ethernet is a healthy option instead of having wifi radiation around, at least for some satisfaction.
PS|: Please be warned that one must OEM unlock (First in developer settings and then in fastboot, Using MI flash unlock tool) the device to be able to install custom rom. Otherwise device may get bricked.
I have unlocked, rooted and installed Kali Nethunter on my LG V20. And have the Magisk module for Wireless Firmware for NetHunter. Everything is working. Except for external wireless USB. I am using an adapter that has the RTL8812AU chipset. I am using an OTG cable to connect the adapter to my phone. According to this doc, Wireless Cards and NetHunter | Kali Linux Documentation , " The following chipsets are supported by default in most, if not all, NetHunter kernels:" which include the RTL8812AU. Am I missing a step? I am currently using this same adapter on my regular Kali installation on my laptop and it works in monitor mode and supports packet injection. But NetHunter only sees the internal wireless.
I am new to the XDA Forums, so I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask questions. Also, I tried searching here and I'm not finding a definitive answer... my search-fu is weak :-(
good evening . I am the newest in the world, I would like to know if it is possible to connect a ralink 3070 usb wifi via otg to my samsung galaxy s9 without installing a custom kernel. Thank you
