I see but people are just placing amount on the forum. I would like to make a formal forum with the information and total amount collected like the other bounties.

Please put me down for $25 for root.
my 20.00 you can make 30.00 and move me to the bootloader. i already have root
Root or unlocked bootloader?
does this work with version 9.30.1? i dont have root nor a unlocked bootloader, from what i read having the bootloader unlocked i should be able to still root.
Do you have you bootloader unlocked?

You don't need the bootloader to unlock. By you have that update the root process as been closed and I am trying to get a developer to work on this for all of use that have this devices and want CM or any other custom rom.

i got my phone replaced by the insurance and it came with the latest OTA (9.30.1), from what ive read on this page, people that had root lost it due to the OTA update and what save them was that their bootloader was unlucked and all they had to is reflash SU via TWRP or CWM.

That is very true... But I am assuming our bootloader is locked correct?
If it is locked then their isn't a way to unlocked the bootloader right now.
So you can't get root nor unlocked bootloader. If you want to place your money on the list then I can do that and also please share these forum on all your social network because I am trying to find a developer that want to take on this change.

Haha it's weird seeing this now cuz at one point I actually considered returning my phone for this infamous developer edition. I'm so glad I didn't bite the bullet like others did and return mine.
Guess it took Samsung a while to finally figure out how to unlock it's bootloader. They should have just come to XDA if they needed help.

no your fine...one thing this might help with is unlocking wcdma 1900 band so you can use this device on domestic gsm networks. our device current state is a insecure aboot, but there a still signature verification checks being performed before the insecure aboot.img loads. meaning our bootloader is unlocked yes, but the device is not fully unlocked..hince why it still shows "secure boot enabled" in odin mode.

Well, like you said yourself above our aboot.img is truly unlocked, but the phone isn't because of secure boot. All the other versions on other carriers are truly unlocked, but ours isn't, which is why we are unable to flash cross-carrier modems like they can on AT&T or t-mo. I just posted on the wcdma 1900 bounty thread that the dev version could be used to unlock that frequency band if the hardware is there. I truly wish we could disable secure boot, then we could basically do anything we want with this phone. We still have a partially disabled, but unlocked phone.
And according to Android Central they are on backorder. Looks like three people bought one !

I wonder if it still has all the Verizon crapware installed on it if it comes directly from Samsung or if there are features in it that were removed from the regular Verizon version (IE: Samsung Dive, etc.)
I hope that they release a tool to wipe it back to stock like google does with their nexus line (I'm talking images)
Also Hoping it will work with the normal SGS3's

Running a custom Rom does not void your warranty. Being stupid enough to take it to Verizon or send it to Samsung with a custom Rom voids your warranty.

IIRC the warranty is automatically voided on the dev edition once custom software is loaded or 30 days is reached (whichever happens first).

Is it the MG1 firmware?
Updated. It is in fact MG1. I don't know if it locks the bootloader though. There is a new "Secure boot status" "type: Samsung" in about device.
Maybe I shouldn't have updated!
Update:
Like the update that has hit other countries before, it adds app2sd support. SEEMS smoother, i. e. no stutter going back to home screen etc. (but is it just a placebo effect?!)

Funny, me too (wrt placebo effect) It does seem to boot up the camera quicker and launch the gallery app better. Rooted to get my multi-window app back and everything is looking good.
I can confirm that Chainfire's CF-Root provides you with root access again after installing this update. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293800
Please make sure you thank Chainfire for his effort.
As I use my camera a fair bit, it's great to see that it launches must faster and is far smoother. I can also confirm that you can now move apps to your SD card.

Well, any exploit applicable to MK2 has a good chance of being applicable to previous versions. With the 4.4 update coming along at some point, I don't know if it makes sense to have a bounty just for MK2.
Current unlocks really known to NOT work for MK2 devices. Thus the need for a new bounty.

Then a workaround. Whatever gets MK2 busted loose for a custom recovery or a ROM. Root works great, but if you try to flash Safestrap or any custom ROM you're bricked. This is a bounty for functioning custom work for devices with the 4.3 OTA.

This bounty is for people on the AT&T S4, model I337. It is for getting bootloader unlock/bypass and custom recovery for people who have taken the official OTA and have the MK2 bootloader.
As an exploit appears to be increasingly likely for MF3, I will give whatever I can afford to the devs involved once complete. Iwill give again if they can do the same for MK2. Sorry I can't be precise.
Also, I think it's worth bearing in mind that as this exploit is being developed, it is increasingly a collaborative effort. This will be a bounty for many.

This thread was created before safestrap was released...so thats what the point was, look at post dates next time. and keep in mind safe strap only allows for stock based roms, so a bounty still has a very valid reason: a bootloader unlock or way to flash a real recovery, that way we can flash non stock based roms such as CyanogenMod
but for now, im more than satisfied with safestrap
Hello everyone,
I have a SCH-I535 running 4.4.2 that I bricked last night after running ez-unlocker (attempting to modify the bootload) and just got it back to work after using a debrick image... If this worked on the Verizon version it would have been all over these forums. The article you linked even mentions how trying this process resulted in hard bricks on the AT&T version. Just wondering if anyone has figured out root for 5.1.1 yet, or if it will be possible?
Thank you

I second this wholly!
Does the towelroot method work?
Towelroot doesn't work.
I've tried a whole bunch of different methods adapted from other devices but nothing works. Different bootloaders, kernels and such. I'm not a dev so my knowledge is limited but I am willing to try whatever if anyone has any ideas.
It's a shame. This is a hell of a tablet on 5.1.1. Just missing root. Don't want to downgrade but I'm mostly missing multi window for some apps that don't support it. And a few other things.

Didn't bootloaders and kernels? 0_o ... I thought the bootloader was locked by AT&T good and tight?

I'm on the p907a. The locked bootloader is the issue. Like I said I'm not a dev so I didn't understand the whole locked bootloader thing. Still don't completely but I've learned a bit trying different things.
Usually I just wait for someone to root whatever I'm using but this tablet gets so little attention I thought I might learn and try it myself. Waaaayyyy over my head here. LOL

Oneclick doesn't work - yet.
Did anybody try the flashfire method? It worked with lollipop 5.02 on my LTE.

I can get it to flash with Flashfire but I don't know how to pre root the update. If I use Flashfires ever root it boot loops on the Note Pro screen.

Anyone know if it's possible to downgrade back to KitKat? I'd be willing to go for it if I knew I could go back.

Yea i updated it , but found out i couldn't root so just odined back to 4.1 i believe. No problems. .
I would like to know as well. I'll be all set once we get root....if we ever do.
I doubt we will ever get root for this tablet on 5.1.1. Unless another Towelroot like solution is found. Nobody really cares about this tablet and when you add the hardware bugs it had from launch its no wonder. Its a shame but it is what it is.
