Hello I own MTK6577 based device. The problem is that the kernel source available for our device is of version 3.0.xx and because of that we are not able get JellyBean on our device. (The Source is available on github and its Generic source)
Can anyone tell me how to update the kernel source to the latest available.(i.e 3.0.xx to 3.4.xx or so) Please post link to guide if it's available.
Any Help will be appreciated.
Thank you In Advance
Regards.
PS: I have googled before posting the question but I am not able to get any relevant information as I don't know what exactly to look for ,most of the guides are for compiling kernel from source and please do not link to those guides.

[Completed] [Q] Building AOSP For I9300

Hello,
I recently downloaded the official AOSP source code into my machine and I want to compile it for my GT-I9300,
but before that where do I get the device blobs and properitary drivers from? Can I use CM's device tree? Are there any other device trees?
And in an addition to that how do I get the Kernel to work properly? Do I need to use the CM kernel?
A hint / tip or a link to a guide would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
I can suggest you to go to xda university
I'm sure that you will find all you need for cooking your own build
Good luck

Start with learning to compile from source code. You will have to edit it in the source. But be advised that changing things like that is not gonna allow you to post it here.

You do. You will have to sync the source code and then compile a build with your changes.

better you understand first step by step to prepare and setup build environment, u can find many guide how to build android from source, u can read some reference from here
Do i need to add kernel source in manifest file??
Try to build CM13 if u succeed then try and build CM14 it will be much easier and yeah CM14 will be much better but it will be harder for now to fix bugs. But i am not sure about that. Good luck.

Well, dunno if you're still interested in the task, anyway - aside from what others already suggested - I can point you on:
Source codes for I8260/I8262 : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2762777
Official Google guide on building Android: https://source.android.com/source/building
Last but not least, keeping in touch with Huawei Ascend G510/Y300 (which are pretty similar to Cores i826*: http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=5419&idPhone2=5250&idPhone3=5386) guyz @ MODACO: http://www.modaco.com/forums/forum/743-huawei-ascend-g510-development/
Hope that helps.

I dont' know if there's a custom kernel for this device. But you can download the source code form here https://www.nokia.com/phones/en_int/opensource to compile it and add features by yourself.

To compile a kernel from source you can follow this tutorial.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/ultimate-guide-compile-android-kernel-t2871276
There are more threads, this is an example.
The build number in your screenshot (5_180) tells the number of the kernel version you need to download (i want think so ), in this case is the Nokia3_V5.180.tar.bz2 file.

With having a linux environment you can build a kernel from source reading the guides. Adding features is more difficult because the main reason: this device has mediatek SoC.
