What does this Mod Do?
This mod will give you "unlimited" multiwindow apps and a minimize button for windows. Also enabled double tap on titlebar to maximize windows.
NEW UPDATE 18 January 2013
Just added Unlimited MultiWindow Mod for N8013-UEUCMA3 & N8000-XXCMA1 and updated N8000_XXCLL3. I hope this new update will give you unlimited multiwindow apps without needing to mod apks or edit the csc file. As I do not have a note10.1 to test it, please let me know if it works.
Some info about the Resize Button that appears on the control bar or bottom right of every opened app. The JB 4.1.2 has the necessary code that put the Resize button on every supported app while the JB 4.1.1 doesn't. The only way to put the Resize button on every app for JB 4.1.1 is to insert the missing code fragment from the 4.1.2 to the 4.1.1 located in android.policy.jar (MultiPhoneWindowEvent$SwithToPreviousSizeButton.smali). Or modding the apps apk and specifically inserting the necessary multiwindow code and dimensions. That is a lot of work and impossible for me to do without a test device. Add to that the fact that smali is a totally foreign language.
Information about the Flashable Files.
There are now 2 options for each ROM version. For example, N8000-XXCMA1.UnlimitedApps will give you unlimited multiwindow apps. Whereas, N8000-XXCMA1.useMultiWindowManagerApp will display all apps on the traybar but wont display as MultiWindow unless enabled with bjbinc's MultiWindow Manager App. So basically the traybar becomes a launcher for both multiwindow and non-multiwindow apps. If an app has been multiwindow-enabled then it will display as multiwindow but if not multiwindow enabled, it will load as a normal fullscreen app. Both versions contain the minimize button and the double-tap to maximize feature. I tried my best to enable 4wayReboot options (even though I haven't tested it) and added Circle Battery theme.
How to install?
1. Make a nandroid backup to be safe. It is essential that you always make a backup.
2. You need to be on a rooted deodex ROM preferably unmodified framework files.

So I tried to make a patch to enable Unlimited Apps for Multiwindow which may or may not work for Note10.1 that is why I call it a "Test" for those who are willing to try. This is the same patch I made to enable unlimited multiwindow apps for my floating multiwindows mod for note n7000 which basically brings the features of note10.1 to note1. I included a CWM flashable restore file in case you want to go back.
How to install?
Make a nandroid backup to be safe. You need to be on a rooted XXCLL3 ROM preferably unmodified framework files.Just download the UnlimitedMultiwindowApps.mod.zip file and flash thru CWM recovery. To restore, just flash the restore.orig.zip.
Important Information:
Apps which are not specifically modded for multiwindows do not appear on the traybar but when you launch them on the homescreen or drawer, they have the "multiwindow button" at the top right or bottom right to make them into a floating window. The trick is to install a launcher like swipepad and launch it as a window and almost all apps that you launch on swipepad will launch in window mode. Swipepad in window mode will serve as replacement for the traybar to launch windowed apps. Give it a try.
Warning: Flash this at your own risk. I am not responsible if you brick your device.

Thanks I will try it when i reach come, but if your rom is based on a real note 10.1 rom then in theory it should work or it should be modified allittle more to work on our note
Thank you very much!:thumbup: It works really fine. The only thing. l can't resize the windows. The windows ever in full screen mode. Can't change it.

Try to set window layout to cascade mode. If it does not resize, maybe the framework-res.apk needs to be altered as well.

yeah, in all Multiwindow apps except the already built in ones by Samsung.
Thanks! This is a good modification.
However, this modification only works with the visualization to cascade mode and the dimension of the reduced windows with the modification is much more big of those redoubts with the multiwindows original.

Works on Redemption ROM. I have one app that crashes from the mod. It is a rotation control app that does not need the multiscreen feature. Is there a way I can manually fix this? I may be able to fix it myself if I knew how your mod works. Thanks for the awesome work. Our Note 10.1's will put iPad users to shame.
Update:

What does part 2 do?

With permission from rovo89 and tungstwenty, I would like to introduce to you the Xposed Framework by rovo89 and the per app density app by Tungstwenty. You can find out more information about the Xposed framework here and here. The Xposed framework is a powerful framework in that mods like call recording, etc. persists even if you update your ROM. There is no longer a need to modify apks like SecPhone.apk just to get call recording and so with other mods. Not all mods are supported but a lot of them if only devs will support the development and use of the framework. This post just deals with the per app density app by tungstwenty. Credits go to rovo89 and tungstwenty. please send them your appreciation.
A Little Introduction
Some ROMs use 240 dpi. Others 213 dpi. And the problem with changing dpis is that you need to mod stock apps to look nice on the selected dpi because they don't scale very well. Samsung did not create them to scale well at different dpis. So the solution was either replace them with alternative apps from the Play Store or mod the apps to fit the selected dpi. Here comes the per app density module running on top of the xposed framework.
Another scenario is the note is a big phone with a bigger real estate than other phones but it is not taking advantage of its real estate because it just uses the phoneUI of installed apps. With the per app density module, you can now choose whether you want the Phablet UI or Tablet UI or Phone UI of your favourite apps.
I have tested this with rooted deodex XXLSC/XXLSA/XXLS7/XXLS2. I believe it may work for rooted ICS and other rooted JB versions.
Will it work on odex roms? Yes, if you are rooted.
Will it work for CM10? I haven't tested it myself, but the author of the framework made this based on AOSP, and CM is the closest relative of AOSP (closer than TW, Sense, Motoblur). The author himself is using this on his GS2 with CM10.1.
Will this work with other phones? Yes, but there is only one way to find out. TRY.
How to Install?
Make a nandroid backup. Works only on a rooted ROM.
Download the XposedInstaller apk and install it. Launch it and grant it root pernissions. Then press Install/Update button. Then reboot.
Download the Per App Density Setting apk and install it.
Launch the Xposed Framework App then in the module tab, enable the Per App Density Module. Then reboot.
Launch the Per App Settings app and there you can now set per app density for all apps listed.
Warning: This is a powerful framework, and if you are not careful about the settings you use, you might mess up your apps or system UI.
EXAMPLE:
Note: The examples below assume you are using the stock unmodded apps (meaning if you are using the 240 modded apps then the settings below wont work).
1. Fixing the camera layout if you are on 240 or 213 or whatever custom dpi.
a. Launch the PerAppSetting app. It will list all available apps you can tweak.
b. Look for the Camera app then click on it. Then on the top right corner there is a slider to enable it.
c. set dpi to 320 then choose 800x1280 on the dropdown box. Press the Save button located on the Title bar. Then Press the Play button located beside the Save button. That's it. Your camera now fits like it used to be.
* You can have the same dpi setting for the voice recorder, fmradio, diary, clock, splanner, task manager, multiwindow flashbar.
2. Fixing the dialer layout if you are on 240 or 213 or whatever custom dpi.
a. Launch the PerAppSetting app.
b. Look for the Contacts app then click on it. Then on the top right corner there is a slider to enable it.
c. Set dpi to 320 then choose 800x1280 on the dropdown box then save. Setting the Contacts app also sets the Dialer app as they always go together (kind of inseparable twins).
3. How to enable Tablet UI for Play Store.
a. Launch the PerAppSetting app.
b. Look for Play Store app then set dpi to 160 and choose 800x1280 on the dropdown box. Save.
c. Look for com.google.android.gsf app then set dpi to 160 and choose 800x1280 on the dropdown box. Save.
d. Run the Play Store and be amazed.
Settings I have tested:
How to Enable Phone UI for Apps (depends on app if it has phone UI support).
- Set dpi to 320 and choose 800x1280 on the dropdown box then save. You may also choose between 214 to 320 dpi.
How to Enable Phablet UI for Apps (depends on app if it has phablet UI support).
- Set dpi to 213 and choose 800x1280 on the dropdown box then save. You may also choose between 213 to 178 dpi.
How to Enable Tablet UI for Apps (depends on app if it has tablet UI support).
- Set dpi to 177 or 160 and choose 800x1280 on the dropdown box then save. You may also choose any value between 177 to 160 dpi.
So drop by here once in a while to see or share your settings that work for you for the benefit of others. Please show some appreciation if it worked for you. Share and post what works and what doesn't.
* Some errors can be fixed by just uninstalling previous versions and downloading and reinstalling new versions of the xposed framework/app settings module and your APPS.
***********************************************************************************************************************************************
DID YOU KNOW?
* The per App Settings Module also enable you to control permissions for your apps. Of course, some apps may malfunction if important permissions are revoked.
* Other Xposed modules you maybe interested.
- Call Recording In areas where call recording is legal.
- Disable SMS to MMS Conversion
For the latest versions and other modules, you can visit the following threads: here, here, here.

Awesome bro its working thanks for this gr8 app :good:
edit :- can you just share how to set dialer dpi i had tried but its not working
It doesn't work on my Phone or Dialler apps. I can press the save button and I get the message about killing the app but once I've saved it the Play button doesn't do anything. It appears to be greyed out.
EDIT: I just noticed a message on these apps in red that says "Shared packages not yet supported".
Other apps I have tried are working great.

On Alliance JB xxlsc beta1.1 with 240dpi mod.
Only thing that I do, and which it is not mention in OP is: just pulling the contacts.apk from original .zip of alliance xxlsc (which is 320dpi, and my contacts.apk was modded for 240dpi and not nice looking), replaced it with the old one in preload\system\app\, reboot,
then do like OP says, open per-app and set it to 320. Now phone dialer is bigger, and thats the way it should be, because it is more finger friendly
that is how it worked for me

sorry mate, realy dont know why, but it smells me like partial root or something
just for notice: what I experience every time i flashed various JB leaks roms. Flashed normaly, without any troubles, superSU update normaly, it prompt me for root acces when doing some random root stuff. But when i install Solidexplorer and then try to go system\root (for changing some apps etc..) it prompt me that i dont have busybox installed, then I installed it from market (the solidexplorer busybox),update then reboot.
After that I fell like I have full root now, until then it looks like partial root.
I dont know whats realy happening there, but thats the way how it work for me
Thats is my experience, if it can help you in someway.
Ichave root as i sad. I can modify systeam apps. Like i had to hide system/xbin/su and rename superuser.apk coz the fcking barclays mobile app root security so after all i have root

it seems your rom use preload and symlink system to it, instead of system itself, if so you need to replace the apk file before set dpi
I guess so, you can check in the SVA rom thread to confirm use of preload, then hope xperiacle advise more on using his mod on symlink-ed system

OPTION 1 : For DEODEX Roms Only
If you have a note 2, maybe you are familiar with the MultiWindow Control App (MWC) by legendk95. The MultiWindow Control app, as the name implies, controls which apps are added on the Multiwindow bar (flashbar). You can find out more about it HERE. It was only available for note 2 users until now. I got curious the other night and thought I would like to find out how legendk95's mod works so I sort of reverse engineered his note 2 files and luckily I was successful. I asked his permission and he allowed me to share it with you. Credit and donations goes to him. So here it goes.
How to install?
Be sure you are on a rooted deodex rom - XXLSZ, XXLSC, UBLS4 or ZSLM5. Make a nandroid backup.
Download the flashable file for your rom version below and just flash thru CWM recovery.
Download and install MWC app below or for the latest version go HERE.
Launch the MWC app and select your apps. When you are finished selecting apps, press the back button and it will ask to kill Multiwindow bar. Press kill it then check the Multiwindow bar for the apps you selected. Videos of the app in action are available HERE.
Note: This mod is only for stock multiwindow, ie flashbar tray (not floating multiwindows).
OPTION 2 : For rooted ODEX & DEODEX Roms
As suggested by mscion, you can use the XposedMultiWindow.apk (credit and thanks to scalee for the module) you can find HERE if you are already using the Xposed Framework by rovo89. This module will give you unlimited apps on the multwindow bar without having to flash anything which means it should work for both ROOTED DEODEX and ODEX ROMS. To install, you must have Xposed Framework installer installed first (some info HERE) and just install the XposedMultiwindow.apk module and enable it in Xposed Installer then reboot.
Re: MultiWindow Control App { LSC, LS4 & LM5}

just thinking of same thing and its already here... nice...

MultiWindow Control App vs. XposedMultiwindow.apk
HI. I have a Tmobile Galaxy Note 2. To allow all apps for mulitview I used the XposedMultiwindow.apk. This immediately puts all apps on the screen you get when pressing edit in multiview to transfer to the multiview bar. The MultiWindow Control App seems to require you to select apps to put on the edit screen which you then again select to put on the multiview bar. Is this correct? If so, why would this be preferable over XposedMultiwindow. Perhaps as an overall framework to do things the MultiWindow Control App is a better approach? Anyways, just asking!
Yay! I used second option on LM5 and it works no need to deodex my rom :good:
Thanks
was planning on staying on pure stock LM5
but looks like i gotta root now
Just added mod support for XXLSZ Roms. See OP for details.

After the flash of the leaked 4.4.2 ROM from Samsung I noticed that floating apps were removed! So I looked around for a solution but didn't find anything useful to have them.
Then I tried (with no hope) to use the miracolous app of our @xperiacle! I realized that Samsung didn't remove (for now) the floating apps feature, differently from Note 2014 and Note 3 (yes, they lost this feature with the kitkat update according to Xperiacle).
Requirements
- Note 10.1 (1st edition) (ONLY N8000!!!!!)
- KitKat 4.4.2 Leaked ROM from Samsung (NO AOSP ROMS!!!!) (if you want to flash the rom just follow this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2732797)
- Root

If you edit build.prop to recognize your device as Note pro 12.2, you can install it. (There's a guide here in forum). However, if you use N8000 as a phone also, i think phone apk will force close with this tweak.

You can still download from xperiacle thread at note3 section. All of those apps are there.

Thanks a bunch for this!! Just one comment. For clarity the OP Additional Features section should read something like:
If you want to select apps that don't support multiwindows or that don't support floating window mode you can:
- Download Pen Windows Manager from Play Store
because some apps that support multiwindow mode dual or 4-way mode don't support floating windows mode until you enable it with Pen Windows Manager.
Thanks again.
