New to note 3 - Galaxy Note 3 General

Traded my s4 in and got note 3. Model number sm-n900w8 Rogers phone. Can someone point me in the right direction for rooting this? Rooted my s4 and s3 no problem before. Thanks guys!

Take a look at the De la vega method. I'm not rooting anytime soon but so far that method won't trigger the Knox as far as I know.
Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

I was looking for a Rogers sub thread but seems there is none, only at&t, sprint , verision etc. I will look into De La vega. Thanks

De la vega is a sophisticated root manner. U should try auto root cf.
Works as a charm

Warranty doesn't really matter to me as I bought this phone slightly used. So I'm sure I got no warranty. Could care less about KNOX if warranty is the reason. Just as long as I don't brick.

here is the step-by-step guide: http://galaxynote3root.com/galaxy-note-3-root/how-to-root-galaxy-note-3/
I follow that guide and rooted without any issue.
In short, 1st you have to install the recovery (CWM) by using Odin, and then flash SuperSU.zip via the recovery.

Hi, please download your firmware from SamMobile
Go into Sammobile website then choose your phone model and your country to get the latest version.
Then patch the ROM with URDLV 0.2
Finally, then just use the Root de la Vega method to root your note 3.

Yeah I don't see a link for the 6210 either, only the P6810 and the P1010.
Uploading to my dropbox, will post when done.
While its loading, to get ready you need Odin, I suggest paid from the market. Extract the zip. I used ES File Explorer.

Kingo Root

So anyone tried this yet? Saw it on Redmond first (http://www.redmondpie.com/kingo-and...ck-root-solution-for-various-android-devices/) then went here . . . www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/kingo_android_root.html

Kango Root
Works on Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and on Window 8.1 64 RTM. My S4 was previously rooted using the method for MF3.
So I did this. Gave me root. Awesome. I then put Safestrap on my phone. I made a Rom-slot. Can I then install the MDL odin file after activating the Rom-slot?

I suggest you take as much time as needed to read all of the "pinned" threads in the General and Q & A sections. Then, if you can't get your phone to boot, or if your stock recovery doesn't work, take the phone to a Best Buy that has a Samsung Experience booth and try to get them to re-flash stock MF3 for you. If you read the threads and get Best Buy / Samsung to re-flash it for you, you should be OK. If you decide to not do the reading, I suggest you don't do anything to the phone except use it as AT&T intends you to use it. Good luck.

Care to show what else one would do after rooting their phone for newbies please? Meaning no rom, just what one can expect and achieve after mere rooting only. Thanks.

I'm not trying to be funny, but you have 251 posts and you don't know he purpose of rooting?
Rooting your phone gives you admin rights, just like having admin access on a computer. One of the main purposes is exactly that. With root access (admin rights) you have complete access to the system. You have access to the entire filesystem. You can run apps that require extra privileges. Basically.. You have FULL control of a piece of equipment that you paid good money for.
Sure, being able to update the Roms are great, but some of us do it because 'we can', some of us do it because we want to be able to run anything we want to.
Again, I am not trying to be rude or funny.. I am just not sure if you are serious or if you were being funny?
thanks, done with my 9005 without knox trigger

I see. Still, I heard there are problems concerning the new FW about the tablet being unrooted if you flash KK on it and the samsung logo not appearing in the booting screen. Is there any way for the root to stay? I already know that there are a few bug issues in the software like the fast battery drain and I can handle that but the root though...I don't really want my device being bricked or whatever. I'm still a newbie about this so I wanted to find more information if possible before doing anything first.

I know it's official and everthing but that's not what I'm worried about. My tablet's already rooted with a custom rom and a blackhawk kernel in it. I read from the other posts that you'd be stuck in the booting screen if you flash the KK due to the logo missing and that you'll lose the root and will never be rooted again due to KK leaving a signature on the build or something. I'm not exactly sure what steps to take to prevent it though and I wanted to flash KK so bad. I just want to know if anyone knows how to flash KK in my already rooted tablet without encountering those two issues I just stated above.
Anyone?

You can always get root access again either by pre-rooting the firmware or by a custom recovery image in several different ways.

I don't think I can do the pre-rooting one. My computer doesn't run in Linux and I'm currently out of the country (and probably will be for months) to do anything about it.

You keep posting over here in the Note5 forums, why don't you head over there and wait for root/TWRP/etc? You should probably avoid flashing any of these things on your Edge+, but you do what you want.

No one there has even started a thread
related to a compatible twrp or root for
the G928T phone.
Since the Note 5 and the S6 Edge+ have
almost identical specs and hardware I am
hoping that perhaps twrp and root might
be similar enough to be interchangeable.

Patience is a virtue TWRP might work, but I'm sure there are kernel differences between the 2 and you might have issues if you flash that kernel to get root. Better to wait it out and keep the thread on topic about the Note5.

I would say if your worried about Samsung pay not working, maybe wait until Samsung pay actually comes out and see if some other brave tries this and then tries using Samsung pay to see if it works. No need to get your panties in a bunch before we even know for sure.
I'm not concerned about something I won't use. I have root so I'm happy. Bring on the roms. Don't harass the devs to make a special Samsung Pay root either lol. Not happening.

Charlieb620, you have root, but does your fingerprint reader still work? Also, if you could, link the 2 threads you followed for rooting. I know of the TWRP thread, but the root method thread...?
